Mature for her age, but can still be rather naive in comparation to the older tributes. She is headstrong and determined, but has never killed someone and does not understand that it's a lot harder to take a life than it looks. She will do everything she can to win and return home because she doesn't want her older sister to have to watch her die. When she returns she is determined that she will take down the Capitol because she is of that age when she still thinks she can make a difference.
She makes friends easily, and winning her trust is simple - unless you are affiliated with the Capitol, which she hates because President Snow was directly responsible for an 'accident' which killed her eighteen - year - old brother in the mines. She is lighthearted, and used to hum and make daisy chains in the forest with her sister before they were caught to have been trespassing the fence by her mother. Her mother had cried and told them that they must not break the rules because that's why their brother was killed.
Salma loves singing and painting, but has never had time to develop her talents in District 12. She is dreamy, and will often look off into the distance. She is very intelligent, but often by trying to see the good in others she will trust more than she should. She is good at hunting, and has a good aim, but is too caring and sensitive to ever actually shoot anything. She loves her sister more than anything else in the world.

On the day of her reaping, Starla tried to volunteer for her but Starla's best friend clamped a hand over Starla's mouth to stop her.

Andrew is moody, pessimistic and withdrawn, tends to hide behind a veil of hair to keep others out of his world. He is practical and tries to stay on the Capitol's good side because he is positive the rebbelion is doomed. His trust is very hard to earn, and he does not hesitate to kill if it is nessecary. He has a lighter side though, and can be a good companion once you get to know him.
He does not like letting people know his feelings, but his close friends can read him through his eyes. Andrew has a sarcastic senseof humor which is often used at other's expense. He always takes a strategic approach, and goes for whatever seems most cautious. He will often try to be nice to people who could kill him easily, such as the careers.

Victoria is practical, energetic and loud. She is outgoing, naive, and not the brightest, but makes up for that by following her instincts when something goes wrong. She is strong and will do anything to protect the people she loves. She is passionate and ruled by emotion, unable to keep a cool head. She never bothers to hide what she's feeling and often bursts into laughter or tears sponatniously. She often walks around with her head in the clouds, and fails to notice what is going on around her. Vicky often forgets just about anything that could be labeled as 'important'.
Victoria is easily amused, and doesn't care if she imbarrases (sp?) her self. Nor does she care what others think of her and has been reprimed more than once for voicing her thoughts on the Capitol a little to loudly. She is independant and carefree. People try to tell her that she has the spirit of a rebel, and should watch what she says, but she ignores them. The only way to make her keep her mouth shut is to threaten to hurt someone she loves. It is hard to remain indeffernt towards Vic - you either love her, or you hate her. Not to say that there aren't many people who go with the latter - Vicky
can be annoying at times - but her charm is hard to resist.
Despite all this Victoria is good at making important decisions because she will evaluate all sides before choosing. Her intuition is also a pretty reliable guide, and she can tell if something is wrong. She hates killing, but can get out of dangerous situations with a greater ease than most people, which is just as well since she has a real knack at getting into them!
The one thing which can really snap Vicky back into reality is the Hunger Games, which remind her of all the cruelties in the world. She is firmly against the Capitol, and believes she can change things for the better.

Victoria hates using weapons, but can handle a sword or knife pretty well - as long as she has the stomach to use it.

Vicky is experienced in determining which plants are poisonous, and which are edible. She can make a semi-decent snare, but whenever she sees an animal get caught in it, she doesn't have the heart to kill it and will often end up nursing it back to health. She has a way with animals, but this can be a weakness because she does not understand that mutte are different to animals, and thinks she can deal thinks she can deal with them the same way.
