At first, it was just us humans. Normal life, you know? Waking up to the smell of coffee brewing, going to work, shopping, laughing with your friends on a warm summer day at the beach.
Now? All of that is gone. Now it's us versus them. The infected. Crawling in the shadows, lurking around every corner. The virus that came out of nowhere spread like wildfire. It turns people into animals. It takes your family and friends and turns them against you; against everyone. You see one, you shoot one. IF you don't... well, that's the end of you.
And it's not just the infected. There's people too to top it off. Two factions really dominate the population. The Fireflies and the Hunters. They're at a constant war, and the Fireflies' numbers are dwindling. The Hunters kill people for no reason too. They kill survivors because they have nothing better to do.
So now, 20 years after the initial outbreak, we're fighting for our lives against man and creature.

Tʜᴇ Fᴀᴄᴛɪᴏɴs -

Tʜᴇ Fɪʀᴇғʟɪᴇs
Fireflies are the gentler of the factions. At the moment, they're trying to find a cure for the Cordyceps outbreak. They don't like the Hunters, obviously. And they like to do a lot of smuggling. The Fireflies usually give people a chance to join them or die when they have problems, but they don't kill mercilessly like their enemy.

Tʜᴇ Hᴜɴᴛᴇʀs
Based mostly on surviving, the Hunters do whatever necessary to stay alive. They're not afraid to kill for what they want. Though they are great in number, they lack the ability to work together and be a good team. They may be one faction, but their mentality suggests it's every man for himself. Being a Hunter, you might have a few companions. Your enemy is the Fireflies, and you'll do anything to see they're wiped out and you're on top.

Tʜᴇ Iɴғᴇᴄᴛᴇᴅ -

There are four stages of infection, and they are as follows:

- Rᴜɴɴᴇʀs
Newly infected, they're usually the most human of all the stages. They can still see, and they usually huddle in dark places and cower. If you listen closely, you can sometimes hear them talking. Be careful around them, because they can see you and your flashlight.

- Sᴛᴀʟᴋᴇʀs
Second stage of infection. They're half blind, the fungus just beginning to sprout out of their brain. They hide in places and jump out at you when you get near, hence their name 'stalkers'. Be careful of these guys, they're one of the leading causes of death.

- Cʟɪᴄᴋᴇʀs
Third stage of infection, and they're the longest period of infection. Most infected die off at this stage, because they're around a few months old. They can get up to years old, too. They're completely blind, the fungus covers their entire brain and face. It sprouts from their eyes and sometimes is spread all over their body. They make faint clicking noises, like bats use sonar, to find you. Be extremely quiet around these guys!

- Bʟᴏᴀᴛᴇʀs
Bloaters are the last stage of infection. They're extremely rare, and are only found in the most secluded places. Don't breath in the spores they throw, because you'll either die or get infected yourself. They have fungus that acts as plate armor all over their body, and they make deep guttural noises.

Riley was her everything, and one day, something really bad happened to her. To this day, Ellie doesn't like talking about her.

He does have courage though, don’t let him fool you, he just gets fearful often. Overall, Jay is a very quiet and mysterious and quiet person and will do anything for others in need.
History: Jay’s parents died when he was little, five to be exact. He lived in a orphanage until he was ten, and then he moved in with a single mom and her daughter. When the outbreak started, his mother died and his sister ran away, he could never find her. He wandered and soon found some weapons, continuing to wander after that.
