Battle Gear Online (BGO) is a well-known and loved VRMMORPG which was released in 2022, and sold to the first, 10,000 people using the gear helmet NerveGear. It has already been two weeks since BGO's release, and many of the 10,000 players are having a great experience in this Virtual Reality. However, on July 28, 2022, when all of the 10,000 users are on, they find themselves unable to log out from the game. And then, an announcement is made, one that will change the player's lives. To be able to log out, you must clear the 100 floors in BGO's floating castle Schloss by defeating the Floor Bosses in hidden dungeons within each floor. Easy as cake, huh? But..should your avatar die in-game, your beloved helmet, NerveGear, will fry your brain; meaning that both your avatar and real-body would die. And this changed every single player's lives.

Then, three weeks have passed since that day. It's June 25, 2022.
And nobody has found the first Floor Boss's dungeon.

Yet.

In BGO, you are able to choose from two different categories: agility and strength. Picking agility would increase your agility stat, while strength would increase your strength stat. Not just that, but picking a category will replace a specific part of your body with advanced technology gear. It's called Battle Gear for a reason, no? Ones who choose agility will have robotic legs, increasing their speed, while strength will have one of their arms replaced with a robotic one. It is a unique feature the company of BGO decided to place in, but using your gear too much will result a cool down session for five minutes. So, consecutive punching or too much running will activate the cool down session. That's why everyone uses their gears wisely, and that's why everyone carries at least a weapon with them.

BGO takes place in a floating castle, quite similar to SAO's Aincrad. The only changes are the landscapes; the first 25 floors focus on a growing forest theme, the second 25 is dungeon-themed, the third 25 is an abandoned city theme, and the last pair of 24 floors is a desert. Monster's on each floor will follow the same theme. The 100th floor's theme is unknown.

BGO's currency is simply called Col.

The starting town is known as Erstestad.
There are also, three commonly-encountered monsters:

Walker's Fleura = a common-type monster, resembling a fly trap. They come in a variety of different sizes, although larger ones are usually uncommonly sighted. They have five limbs resembling legs to walk around, and can give 10 EXP and an item called [ Fleura Leaf ], which can be sold for only 5 Col.

Lazy Sheep = a common-type monster, resembling a sheep. They are non-aggresive monsters unless you attack them, and are usually found all over the place. They have larger, curled horns and red eyes, and can give 15 EXP and an item called [ Curled Horn ], which can be sold for 20 Col.

Wolfen = a uncommon-type monster, resembling a wolf. They have two heads and are usually dark colored, and are aggressive. Can give 20 EXP and an items called [ Metallic Fang ], which can be used to forge daggers or knives or sold for 40 Col, and [ Warm Coat ], a dark-colored coat which can be sold for 20 Col.

! Floor Boss has been discovered ! = Thanks to a party of four players, they have found the Boss's hidden dungeon. However, they did not approach or enter the Boss Room, but although it's attack patterns, weapon, and appearance are unknown, the Floor Boss's name is known as O'xabaril. One of the players found the name carved above the double, large doors leading to the boss room, which appears to say O'xabaril's Cage.

Meet Lixue, a female, aged 15 years old. She's born on December 16, and likes to be called Lix for short.
Lixue is a 4 feet female, very short, but don't underestimate her. She is a speed demon in other VRMMO's,
but faster in Battle Gear Online thanks to the pair of plain, dull grey robotic legs. Don't let your guard down.

Lixue is also, an agile girl, moving silently most of the time. She has long, brown hair with bangs and a pair
of green eyes. She loves wearing a white shawl and short, boots, and long-sleeved shirts; mostly sweaters.
In-game, she appears very similar to her actual appearance, only she's 5'2" now. She wears a black vest with
coat-tails, a long-sleeved red shirt, silver sport shorts, and her pair of legs are replaced with robotic ones.
She has a sword sheathe, brown with white markings, on her left side, and a silver armband on her left arm.

Lixue is a very quiet person when you first meet her. She is kind and always being helpful, around others,
but does it very quietly. Once you get to know her more, she's a very protective and friendly person. Lixue
puts others ahead of herself and always does her best, well-known for being a hard worker both virtually
and in reality. Lixue, although it doesn't seem like it, has a lot of confidence in her and others. She always
cheers people on, even in the darkest hours. She is very observant and a cooperative person, but sometimes
she acts very rude around others. That's only if she finds you suspicious or a well-known dangerous person.
However, Lixue can act a bit childish, teasing and joking around with you, acting very playful, which is rare.

Lixue was born and raised in China for a few years before moving to Japan. She had a normal life, both at
home and inside school. Lixue was the quiet, but smart girl in class, and she was very friendly towards others.
She came across the net at the age of ten, and started to play massively multiplayer games. Lixue's interest
of video gaming expanded rather quickly, and she was known as 'one of the geeks' in school. However, that
did not stop her from playing. She managed to keep her grades up, and also managed to be in the high rankings
in most of the games she played. Then, Lixue came across Battle Gear Online. She loved the concept of the
game, especially the special feature that was included. However, that day changed her life forever. July 12.

Lixue is a 'weapons geek', usually taking a long time to choose her weapon, and admiring others's weaponry.
She wields simple, one-handed sword, with a color scheme of silver and red, and carries a dagger with her,
with a black blade and green handle, as her Plan B weapon, which she has strapped behind her back, hidden.

This is Styx Heolstor, a 19 year old gamer born on December 12. He prefers being called by his username,
Xylon. Styx's distinguishing feature is a crooked scar that crosses his left eye vertically, although it is partly
covered by his dark bangs. In-game, his avatar also has the same feature. He has been playing VRMMOs
for quiet a long time now, and came across Battle Gear Online. He is a strength-user, with a large, robotic
left arm, grey with red claw-like streaks. He shows surprising strength both in reality and in many VRMMOs.

Styx is dark-haired with a set of dark, blue grey eyes. He has a pale complexion and stands 7'8" tall, with a
muscular built both virtually and in reality. He is always seen wearing a button-up polo and a shirt inside,
and a pair of worn out black Converse. In-game, he changes his appearance only slightly, the same features,
only a red streak in his hair and the crooked scar crossing his left eye, which also appears in reality. For this
VRMMO, he wears a long-sleeved black shirt with a dark, reddish brown cloak and dark pants. He usually goes
barefoot, but is sometimes seen wearing black shoes. Due to being a strength-user, he has a robotic arm in
a grey shade, which is slightly larger than Styx himself. It has red, claw-like streaks on the sides that he put.

Styx is a boy who strays away from others, and does not care what others think of him. He will usually ignore
or snap at you, so he doesn't really have a lot of friends both virtually and in reality. He is very independent,
doing everything by himself, and is hard-workingly determined, never giving up. He always thinks there's a way
to get out of a situation, although he can be a bit aggressive. If you manage to peel of this thick layer of Styx,
you'll find him a completely different person. More kinder and gentler, protective and helpful. Styx is basically
just a boy who's scared to be with others, for what reason? Some don't bother asking him though, but if you do..

Styx's history are known to a few, while most people only know this: his family had died when Styx was at a young
age, his parents and his sister. The cause is unknown. He lives with his grandparents on his mother's side, and began
playing VRMMOs at the age of nine, according to Styx. It has been ten years exactly since he started, in the game BGO.

Styx simply carries a black and gold archery set called Kurozev. He also carries a long, black katana, which is hidden.
