We all know that feeling. Thinking someone's "the one", only to have our dreams crushed when cold, hard reality decides to step in. Despite what you previously thought, "the one" has found someone else. Leaving you broken-hearted and forced to fend for yourself.
Break-ups, they're just a part of life. We all go through them. Sometimes it's for the best, other times the reason is unknown. The only thing they all have in common..pain. No matter how easy you try to let someone down, there is going to be pain. Those few moments where your world is shattered by a few small, but powerful words.

Florida. Perfect weather, the best beaches and the place you love to call "home". It's finally summer vacation, the time for parties, hanging out with friends, and more parties. Of course, it won't all be fun and games, there will be heartache. Break-ups; but on the other hand, new relationships will form. Some matches that seem to be made in heaven..others not so much.

Supposedly, vampires have roamed the area for years, keeping themselves hidden from the rest of the world; only coming out to feed. Recently, a few have grown brave, venturing out in broad daylight, walking among humans; this isn't an easy task considering the fact that most vampires survive solely off of human blood. They are not the heartless monsters authors and directors have portrayed them as for years, but kind and gentle, as captivated by humans as humans are vampires. Though this curiosity isn't always a good thing as some of the vampires have found themselves falling for the humans they once considered prey.

So will you find someone to mend your broken heart or find yourself left alone once again?

Melanie might not be the most popular girl around, but that's perfectly fine with her. Her tight-knit group of friends are all she needs and they mean the world to her; she'd never do anything to risk losing them. Yes, they may get into arguments every once in a while over pointless things like boys, or wearing the same outfit on the same day, but they always find a way to resolve it and eventually laugh it off. If you haven't guessed by now, her life definitley revolves around her friends. They practically live with eachother, going to the same parties and staying over at eachother's houses.

From her completely random and fun personality, your first guess would probably be that she has the perfect family, the perfect parents, and the perfect life. Wrong. When Melanie was only seven-years-old, her mother unexpectedly died of an unknown illness; sending her dad in a downward spiral. Turning to drinking and drugs as an escape from the pain, her father has been in and out of just about every rehab in the state. With no where else to go, and being under-age at the time, Melanie was forced to live with her aunt and uncle in Washington, along with her younger sister, Isabelle. Of course now her father has gotten his life on track, but occasionally has breakdowns and with Melanie being the oldest daughter, she is the one who has to help him through them, which is the main reason why she is extremely compassionate and caring towards just about everyone. No matter how happy a person looks, you don't know what kind of pain they may be hiding inside, just eating away at them, which is exactly how she is. She never tells anyone but her best friends about her life and is always reluctant to open up to people she doesn't know well.

Xavier is the very definition of cold and sarcastic. He doesn't care who you are or what you do, if you annoy him, he'll be the first to point it out. Try to talk to him and he'll only respond with one of his sarcastic remarks.
It is a rare sight to catch him with any expression-well, besides annoyed- other than his cold, blank stare. At first impression, he seems like a rude person who only cares about what will be beneficial to him; if you really take the time to get to know the real Oliver, you'll find that underneath his hard exterior is a very sweet and caring guy. He actually isn't rude at all, a better word to describe him would be "lost" or "broken". Since he's gone through so much in his life, he pushes people away, not wanting to have to explain why he acts the way he does.
