☩ Aftermath ☩

A Fantasy RPG

[removed]

Welcome to our insanity...

It is the year 967 of the calendar of ‘Wyrm’ and country of Anum Rosa has been at war for over two hundred and fifty years against the Guardians. The lands of Anum Rosa are starved and barren, death plagues all mortal beings... but within this dead, war ravaged land there is still. Hope that the Great Plains may grow again in this silent world of nothingness, but in order to have hope one must still know the story of how the war began.

It all began six hundred years ago during the ‘Stella Period’. These times were hard and very corrupt; it was a period where a great famine plagued the lands and royals and peasants alike fought viciously over fertile land and resources. Crime was entering a new peak within Anum Rosa and murder between the monarchies was common. It was within the tragedy and bloodshed that creatures slowly began to surface from their silent tombs long forgotten by the citizens of the land. ‘The Guardians’, as the creatures called themselves, quickly made themselves noticed by the citizens of the country and asked to meet the seven remaining royal families. Fearful, the seven families agreed to the meeting, and on the night of a Lunar Eclipse they met with the creatures.

The creatures told the royals that they would not harm their people and wished to create an agreement with the humans. The royals shakily agreed to this and asked of what they wish to agree on. ‘The Guardians’ told the humans that they would restore their lands to health if they were allowed to roam the world free of conflict. The royals agreed wearily. And so ‘The Guardian’ restored the lands and brought peace of mind to the humans.

Life continued as normal for many decades. The humans grew to love the mystic beings that dwelled in their land; that was until the rule of King Nero. King Nero an arrogant man born into the Pureblood Polonox monarchy. For many decades Nero ruled the east side of the ‘Land of Noir’ with his beautiful wife Belle, a mermaid that had disguised herself as Nero’s missing cousin in order to marry him. There was little conflict between the royal couple except for matter of having children together. Nero wished to have an heir to his throne; however Belle did not wish to bear such a child. This angered Nero however he had a plan that would ensure him that he would have an heir. On one night Nero got Belle very drunk before going to bed with her, the result was that Belle got pregnant much to her utter shock and mistrust of her husband. Nine months later Belle gave birth to two healthy sons; however they were anything but human. The sons had odd coloured eyes and webbed hands. Nero when he found out about his sons was furious and ordered Belle’s execution right away. He order his army to round up all ‘Guardians’ in the east and be locked away in the castle dungeons. As for his two sons, he abandoned them in ‘The Whispering Woods’.

Although Nero’s actions were only secluded to the East Side of Noir, other ‘Guardians’ from the lands sort to build a bridge between the royal families. The ‘Guardians’ band together and created their own legalised monarchy, allowing them to marry the human royalty, have children and in turn form new species. Unfortunately the citizens of the lands were disgusted in these unions and rioted on the ‘Guardians’, slaughtering some of the Hybrid children. Soldiers of the monarchy left their posts and joined other Pureblood royal families.

The royals of the Hybrids’ were desperate and in ruin, their lands a mass of devastation and bloodshed so with much regret the families of the Hybrids together joined together and passed a law that any Hybrid born in the lands and any rank had to be sent away to live forever in ‘The Outlands’, never to return into the human realm.

And so both humans and ‘Guardians’ alike built towns and camps in the barren landscapes of ‘The Outlands’. They placed human overseers in the towns and built a large wall on the border in ensure that no Hybrid would ever be able to leave the land. After five years of building the towns were ready to be populated. The Hybrids were taken away from their families, some willingly, others forcefully. Eventually with the removal of the Hybrids brought civilians and soldiers back into the lands of deserted royals and the lands returned as normal.

For centuries the humans and ‘Guardians’ lived within the law and gave their Hybrid children up to the soldiers which placed them in ‘The Outlands’ thinking that they’d be better off with other Hybrids but that wasn’t so. When a Hybrid was first brought to the land at the age of three they had all their oddities are removed such as tails, horns etc. And they were sent to work mining substances such as coal or precious stones from the semi-volcanic lands. If the Hybrids do not mine enough during the day they do not eat or sleep until they do. It was a terrible and dirty secret that the monarchy kept to themselves for many years.

It was here in the mines that the twenty-year-old son of an ‘Ebony royal’, Qux, discovered an ancient underground temple. The walls of the temple described an ancient forgotten war of humans against the great Demon, Xzolholus. The walled described that King Octavius; the first King of Anum-Rosa beheaded Xzolholus and imprisoned her spirit in a silver goblet. It was said that from her blood that the gateway to Anum-Rosa had been created, however it was said that whoever had opened the gateway family was forever cursed. It was said the Octavius, the goblet, his family and his army entered the gateway but as they did they could never return to their world. The legend stated that Octavius had appointed each one of his seven generals the leaders of seven divided lands while he as agreed by the generals would have the eighth land and the largest for his family. For many decades Octavius and his children built and ruled the lands of Anum-Rosa, until one winter when they and the citizens that dwelled in the eighth land disappeared without a trace.

Intrigued Qux continued to search the temple of the many different stories and legends of the lands. Eventually Qux came to a stone door marked with the words ‘Destruction awaits world which awakens us’. Curiously Qux entered the room. Within lay the sleeping sons and daughters of King Octavius in open stone coffins, their appearances unchanged since the day they disappeared. Towering over the coffins lay a great obsidian black dragon, slumbering, and its tail curled around a stone Roman pillar while in its hand rest a silver cup. The voices of other Hybrids alerted Qux to stop his exploring but not before taking the cup from the dragon’s great paw.

For almost a year Qux kept the cup hidden from the eyes of his human overseers until one night during a raid of his roommate’s stuff they discovered it. The overseers thinking it was stolen from one of their own cabins attempted to take it, however the quick Half-Draconic Qux grabbed it back off the overseers and ran off with it. Pursued for about an hour by the overseers Qux decided to give up his run and his cup, but not to the overseers. When the overseers caught him Qux tossed the silver cup into the old dry town well.

Qux was sent to stay in prison for a month after the ordeal. Strangely while he was in prison all the towns water supplies to dry up mysteriously, however with even more strangeness the old well began to overflow with water, it was like all the water from the other wells were being diverged in to the old well. With no other choice the Hybrids began to drink from the old well.

The well’s water tasted just like any other water if not better yet odd side-effects started to take hold. The once humble but beaten down Hybrids grew vicious. They began to despise the human overseers with a passion and refused to work in the mines. When they were punished they turned vicious and started riots. Eventually one Hybrid managed to kill an Overseer which opened a whole new doorway to the Hybrids.

Corrupted by the water the Hybrids killed and tortured the overseers, impaling their heads on spikes. Qux who was still in prison had thought that he had been abandoned by the humans was completely oblivious to the outside slaughter until a large group of bloodstained Hybrids released him from his cell and brought him outside to the well. The Hybrids told him that they had heard voice in their head calling his name and telling him that he was to be the new General of the Army of Xzolholus.

Frightened and overwhelmed by the Hybrids Qux refused. The other Hybrids who were angered by Qux’s refusal trapped him and forced him to his knees where they made him drink the water from the retrieved silver cup. Soon within a few minute the noble Qux had become as cruel and vicious as the others.

Within a few days the relevantly Hybrid Army managed to break down ‘The Outland’ wall and head toward ‘The Castle Noir’ where they were joined by the Armies of the ‘Guardians’. The Guardian armies had found out about what had happened for centuries in ‘The Outlands’ and were disgusted by the humans and Royal ‘Guardians’ for letting that happen to their children. With the combine Armies of both Hybrids and Guardian’s the two plunged the lands into an eternal war slaughtering the Royals of both human and Guardian alike. It was then like a like a Phoenix rising from the fires of war that a Great Black Dragon descended to the land calling the world below ‘Hither me not, I came to this place of green, Did thy mind not slumber? Forevermore I summoned to the end of this land, for ‘Here Be Dragon’s forevermore!’

Lands and Map

The Kingdom of Ignis "Land of the Dragons"

Ignis, the Kingdom of fire and dragons, a land where only the mad and the banished dare to venture. In the old days Ignis was used as a mass prison designed to keep the worst of criminals such as murders and royal assassins. The terrain of the lands was suitable to host these criminals as there was very little chance of survival. The land is highly volcanic and produces a lot of highly concentrated acid rain. The soil produced in the land is highly fertile, however due to the acidic rain nothing ever has a chance to grow. Ideally most prisons were built underground because of the rain and supplies were obtained from other lands.

The Kingdom of Luna "Land of the Wolf"

Luna, the Kingdom of the Ivory Path, a land of grand castles and plentiful plains. Luna is a Kingdom that became famous for its all year round snow storms which happen once every decade. Luna is the third largest Kingdom of Anum-Rosa consisting of seven-hundred odd square kilometres, which is roughly three-hundred square miles. The land of Luna is just south of the ‘Kingdom of Noir’ and east of the ‘Kingdom of Ignis’. Luna was known best for its excellent Craftsmen and Hunters.

The Kingdom of Naturae "Kingdom of the Grand Forest"

This civilisation was built in a Grand Tropical Rainforest west of Ignis. The whole City was built with limestone, decorated with beautiful ornate designs of dragons and knights. Sadly, the grand City was abandoned during the Hybrid War and for two-hundred the forest has been slowly reclaiming it.

The Kingdom(s) of Noir "Land of the Bounty Hunters"

Out of all the Kingdoms, Noir is the only one that has been divided into three sections, ‘The North Neutralist Nation of Noir (NNNN)’, ‘The Southern Imperial Republic of Noir (SIRN)’ and ‘The East Loch of Noir’ (ELN). The Kingdom came to be divided after a feud between royal triplets who, after their father died, fought a terrible battle to determine who would rule the kingdom. In the end the triplets found themselves to be equally matched so they divided the land into three sections for each to rule. The Kingdom is well known for its black soil and plentiful Silver mines. The people of this land were best known for the excellent Bounty Hunters and Artists.

The ‘Outland’ “No Man’s Land”

Before the repopulation of ‘The Outland’ there was a strict Law enforced by the original Leaders of the Kingdoms that prohibited anyone in entering ‘The Outland’. Although the land is now relatively barren it with its few swamps and hard-wood forests the land use be very green. It is unknown why the land died; perhaps it sensed the same disturbance which caused its people to vanish leaving its cities and castles unfinished.

Creatures

Draconic (Lizard-men, Hissers)

Draconics are not the most trustworthy of creatures to come across. These ‘Guardians’ are sly, sneaky and often have short tempers. These creatures are mostly suited to jobs like spies, thieves and Bounty Hunters.

Elder-born Vampire (High Vampires, Night Stalker, Ancient-ones)

Elder-born Vampires keep to themselves most of the time unless they need to feed on the living, they live almost anywhere that is away from people, castles, keeps, and maybe caves. Each Elder-born has a Soul Guardian, a demon that only they can see. The Soul Guardian can take the shape of any animal with the element of fire, shadow, water or earth... it is rare for a vampire to have a shadow element Soul Guardian.

Skull-Stacker (Forest Dwellers, Lock-Jaws, Beast-men)

A Skull-Stacker is a humanoid cat creature native the Kingdoms of Naturae and Silva. The Skull-Stackers live and work in tribes as crafts people. These creatures are the most primitive of the Guardians and are based upon a nomadic ‘Hunter-Gatherer’ society. Skull-Stackers have excellent night vision and climbing abilities.

Mermaids (Sea Maidens, Sea Demons, Flesh-Eaters)

Mermaids are savage hearted Guardians native to the Dusk Sea and some parts of ‘The Dead Swamp’. Any sailor legend will tell you that Mermaids are beautiful long haired sea maidens with a shining lower half of a fish, this is true; they are beautiful but very deadly. Mermaids are notorious for leading weary sailors to their doom. Most mermaids enjoy life in the sea, however every so often a Mermaid will come to live as a human on the land. Surface dwelling Mermaids do not bind themselves to work or common society, they are rather wild creatures which love the thrill of danger and leisure.

Harpy (Mountain Mystics, Sky Skimmers)

Harpies are the rulers of the skies and of the mountains; they are native to the mountains of Angelus and Nix. Harpies take the form of a tall humanoid creature with long extended featherless wings and great twisted talons. Harpies are primarily carnivorous occasionally eating high growing vegetables. Harpies are very much in tune with the elements and make excellent sorcerers and sorceresses.

Celtra (Field runners, Mine fiends)

Celtra are large rat-like, boar-like humans that inhabit the mines of Noir, Nox and Luna. Unlike other species of Guardians they have no real form of learnable language and merely communicate through grunts and snarls. Celtra stand around six-foot with three foot long tails, they have lightly furred over bodies which during the summer can be any shade between light-brown to black and had five inch long tusks. Celtra are blinded by light so most of them live in either caves or mines.

Night-Bringer (Offspring of Human and Harpy)
Siren (Offspring of Harpy and Mermaid)
Pond-Dweller (Offspring of Human and Mermaid)
Dhampir (Offspring of Human and Elder-born Vampire)

Werewolf

Werewolves; the children of the moon and the bound guard-dogs of ‘The Guardians’. Werewolves were once thought to be ‘Guardians’ by the humans, in a way this is partly true, the original werewolves were ‘Guardians’, sadly due to the fact that these ‘Shifters’ spread their condition like wild fire to mortal men every full moon they were removed permanently from the ‘Guardian’ Order.
There are three types of Werewolves in Anum-Rosa; Lycans, Brutes and Luna-Lupus. Lycans are thin and agile with long hind legs with more of a humanoid appearance. Brutes are large strong, heavily muscled werewolves that walk like humans. Luna-Lupus takes the form of large albino wolves.

Dragon

Dragons are winged reptilian creatures which populate most Kingdoms of Anum-Rosa. Dragons can come in any shape and any size. Each Kingdom has its own dominant dragon species native to the Kingdom; Angelus, White Healing Dragons, Aima, Battle Dragons, Noir, Dark Fire Dragons, Nox, Night Dragons, Aqua, Cold Fire Dragons, Fae, Pygmy Dragons, Luna, Moon Dragons, Ignis, Volcanic Dragons, Nix, Frost Dragon, Silva, Crystal Dragons and ‘The Outland’, Black Dragons. Along with these dominant dragon species there are many other species such as, Soul Dragons, Blind Dragons, Gold Dragons, Red Dragons, Thorny Dragons, Pond Dragons, Wyrm Dragons and Cadaver Dragons. Dragons are wild and unpredictable; they cannot be controlled or tamed. Each breed of dragon has a different tolerance to humans most dragons will flee if they see a human approaching but it the dragon feels it is being threatened it will attack.

Titan Dragon

Titan Dragons are the biggest of all dragons. They are the rulers of the sky and feared by all. These Dragons are the kings of all draconic species and the holders of the entire kingdom’s wisdom. Titan Dragons possess immense knowledge, magical powers and wealth making them in the past a very large threat to the Royals since they had the ability to shift into humans. Some Titan Dragons were hunted down by the Royal families in order to possess their invaluable eggs which could be hatched and raised to be ridden into battle. Raised Titan Dragons did not possess magical powers meaning that they could not shape-shift in to humans. Tame Titan Dragons are very protective of their owners; they are willing to even give up their own life to protect their owner.

Vampire (Non-Elder)

Vampires are product of when an Elder-born vampire willingly or in some cases unwillingly feeds his blood to a dying human. Vampires are only a quarter as powerful as the Elder-born that turned them and do not possess a Soul Guardian, yet they can call upon their Sire’s one if needed. Vampires can be controlled at will by the Elder-born that created them yet most Elder-born prefer not to as they tend to sympathise with their ‘Childe’. A turned Vampire unlike the Elder-born cannot go into the sunlight as it will burn and kill them. Created Vampires technically the living dead and therefore cannot reproduce. Vampires must drink blood from at least two or more living creatures each night or risk going insane; consuming human food will result in them becoming sick.

Revenant

A Revenant is a creature halfway between a Vampires and a Zombie with a major anger-management problem. Revenants are bringers of bad luck and sickness. To see a Revenant in the wilderness on the night of a new moon is an omen of death. Like Vampires, Revenants are the living dead and need to be sustained by both blood and flesh of the living. If a Revenant does not eat the flesh of the living he will slowly decompose and die. Revenants are easily angered by the presence of humans and will attack on sight. Revenants can take large amounts of damage before being rendered unable to move, however this is only brief and the Revenant will be able to move once again. The only way to kill a Revenant is to cut off its head and burn its heart.

Lich

A Lich is a sorcerer or sorceress that has purposely turned his or herself into a Revenant in order for them to live longer.

Demon

Demons are soulless creatures from the void. They are tricksters that play on human desire. Demons grant wishes for humans for the price of half a soul which can either be given by the wisher or supplied by another party. The more soul-halves given to the demon the better the outcome of the wish will be. The more souls a demon possesses the stronger a demon becomes. Demon’s can take the form of both male and female entities of any species. The only way to destroy a demon is to speak its true name which can be found on an item that they have hidden.

Rules: MUST READ

Postby ♥Fleur Morte♥ » Mon Jan 07, 2013 4:41 pm

Rules:- MUST READ

All participants in this roleplay MUST be willing to write at least THREE or more paragraphs per character!
This is an advanced Roleplay for advanced and EXPERIENCED Roleplayers!

Example of Writing needed:

The wind streamed calmly through the looming Gum Trees, their ancient far stretching branches rattling thick with arrow tipped leaves. It gave a refreshing relief from the harsh bite of the scorching mid-day sun and the local townsfolk of Springthorpe praised it so. There seemed to be more commotion than normal, a grand Patriotic Fund Raiser had just started up in the sleepy little town and every man and woman had decided to show their support.

The fund raiser was being held on a large field, about three kilometres from the last shop. The field was littered with little stalls and various competitions. A little distance to the side of the stalls stood a small white church which was being prepared for the dance, which would be held after the sun set.

Through the crowded lanes separating the different stalls strutted two young ladies travelling beside one another. Both ladies were very beautiful; long dark flowing hair falling around their feminine curves. The eldest of the ladies was named Margret, she was the uppity one; an English land owner’s daughter, the younger one was Frances-Jane, she was the strong one the externally solemn one, yet the internally wild.

Rules of Roleplay:
Minimum Swearing
No God modding or god play
No Mary Sues or Grey Sues
No Spamming the Roleplay
No leaving for Dead (Tell me ok if you don't want to play)
Nothing overly Bloody and Gory
No ignoring other characters
No chat speak
I will NOT take FIRST PERSON SPEAK or minor detailed paragraphs...
Please write with mature grammar
And above all HAVE FUN!

Roan has survived both battles of the Red Crows on ‘The Rebellion’s side which has given him a very strong and noble status among the Rebels. He is overconfident and proud which has been brought on by his aristocratic upbringing. Roan has a very influential and powerful voice that has the ability to fill Rebel souls with hope. In a sense Roan is both very creative and smart, his assertive awareness of mechanisms enables him to design and produce new weapons and inventions to help ‘The Rebellion’
Detailed History:
Roan from a young age was taught by his parents to never trust an Elder-Born. ‘They’re too fixed and not enough is known about them’ his father always told him, ‘Unpredictable and too flirty’, his mother said. Roan grew up on these words and mentally promised himself never to forget them. The Ebony family was a very extended and close so Roan was always attending formal events and aristocratic parties as a young Prince.

At the age of thirteen Roan was enlisted into his father’s army. He was sent to the mountains dividing Noir from ‘The Outland’ where he was trained to fight and hunt in the harsh and unpredictable climate of ‘The Outland’. At the age of eighteen Roan’s army was relocated to aid archaeologists in excavating the ruins of ‘Dark Water City’, an early ‘Eighth House’ settlement in Aqua.

At the age of twenty Roan returned Noir to attend his father’s funeral and his older brother Giovanni’s coronation. Roan left Noir shortly after his brother’s coronation, travelling to the Kingdom of Silva to hunt the Werewolves of the Misty Woods. Two years later Roan reluctantly returned to Noir after his brother’s abrupt death to claim his throne. As a King Roan was to obtain an Animal Token based on the last creature they hunted, the stone of their birth, the colour of their family crest and the original House their family belonged to. In the end Roan’s token was the Emerald Eyed Black Wolf of Septimo.

For many years Roan ruled the Kingdom of Noir with little interest in the political protocol of his Kingdom, giving most of his judgement power to his Barons and Lords. The years flied by and Roan aged more every year, yet never did he once produce an Heir to his throne. The Archbishop of Noir became restless in Roan’s laziness and disregard for his Kingdom’s affairs. One night the Archbishop approached Roan about lifestyle, ‘You have been bless by the Lord with incredible wealth, good looks and a large loving family, but you have squandered your gifts with your desire to live the life of a lowly peasant or soldier, you have no Heir, and no wife, nor a desire to get one, if you do not marry or produce an Heir, the council of our Fourteen Kingdoms will have to ask you to relinquish your throne to your cousins’. Now Roan did not know that he could relinquish his Throne and he was overjoyed to hear that he could, he had never wanted to really to be a royal, after all, his father had cast him aside and sent him to the military while his brother stayed at the Castle.

Sure enough Roan gave up his power as King and went back to living in Silva. While living in Silva Roan met up with ‘Draconic’ slave traders from Lupi Isle, an Island notorious for its high Werewolf population. The slave traders carried many punished thieves and wayward teenagers but one stood out from the others, a young boy. Roan sympathised with this little caged boy and asked the Slave traders why the little toddler had come to such circumstances. The Slave traders told Roan that both the child’s parents had been Lycans and their curse had passed on to him. Feeling sorry for the small child Roan bought the little Werewolf and raised him as his own, naming him Lykus. Ironically later that year Roan married the Princess Gloria of Aima and resumed his status as a royal.

No less than four years later Qux, Roan’s distant cousin returned to Anum-Rosa and pledged destruction to the humans in the name of ‘Xzolholus’. At this time Gloria was heavily pregnant with his child and a war was no place for a baby to be born, but the dark fate of the cursed land was already working against them. As a King it was Roan’s duty to destroy all foreboding forces and sadly as King Roan had to leave Gloria with the only attendance of a few maids and a young tame Titan Dragon.

Vetex, daughter of Roan and Gloria was born one month into the war, her only attendee the Young Titan. Due to complications during Vetex’s birth Gloria died leaving Vetex to be raised by the Titan Dragon.

During the time of Vetex’s birth Roan was fighting with the Rebels who back in his time were known as ‘The Crows’. The battle was fierce and even though the humans out-numbered ‘The Hybrid’ they could not compete with the power of the ‘Guardians’. Over the course of a year the population of ‘The Crows’ slowly diminished until only one collective group remained, ‘The Red Crows’.

It was here on the ‘Night of Draconis Luna’ (a night considered to be evil by the ancient Priests of Anum-Rosa) that ‘The first Battle of The Red Crows’ was fought against Qux and his demonic army. Roan fought bravely as one of the Rebel’s Warlords but despite his efforts he was wounded by Qux’s blade.

Bleeding Roan and his remaining men surrendered to Qux letting him take them as prisoners back to Castle Noir, Roan’s old home. For a bit of amusement and to be cruel Roan, Qux ordered his Revenants to turn the strongest of the ‘Rebels’ and have them thrown into an arena with the weak and the wounded while Roan watched with him. Feeling defeated and sick Roan was thrown into his own dungeon where he was left to starve. It was here on the second night of his imprisonment that a mysterious cloaked man appeared in his cell. At first the man spoke to him in a strange language which was unknown to Roan yet somehow he could still understand what he was saying. ‘Prince of Lupines and dark divinity, the blood of thy Kinsmen flows through your veins’. Roan could not comprehend what this man was saying, he was speaking lunacy, was he trying to say that he was related to him? Roan confronted the man and replied that he had no relations with him.

The man found Roan amusing, ‘My mortal Kinsmen, have you not suffered enough? Do not wish for power once more? I come to you; I offer you salvation from death... I only ask for your acceptance’. Roan hesitated at man’s offer but accepted it, ‘what is your name... kinsman?’ The man chuckled, ‘My name has been many but you may call me Prince Avictus’. Within a second of knowing the Avictus’s name Roan was thrown back into the dungeon’s wall with immense force, Prince Avictus’s holding him firmly with one hand to the wall and another to a dagger now lodged deep in his chest. The Prince took off his dark hood and stared deep into Roan green eyes with his own blue ones, ‘Time is yours, King, but how you use it will be your choosing’, he whispered letting Roan fall unconscious.

Detailed Description or Real-life or Semi-Real life Picture:
Roan is a strong built man standing slightly taller than most men. His eyes are light green with flecks of hazel in them. His hair is dark-brown like many of his Kinsmen and his skin has an almost greyish tone to it. Unlike most royal blooded warlords, Roan wears iron and gold scale armours which were given to him from Julius’s own treasure horde. Despite his out-dated armour Roan uses a large kite shield and great-sword to protect himself. Unlike most of the ‘Childe’ Roan walks much like the ‘Elder-Born’, graceful and inhuman, though this may be because of him being turned by an ‘Eighth House’ Royal.
