Wolf sighed and she removed her hand. Lero cocked his head gently and, ever so carefully, he flicked his tongue close to her face.
Wolf... If I could give you your sight back, what would you do?
At the very mention of getting her sight back, Wolf felt her knees tremble and she almost fell to her knees. She choked back a sob. "Anything..." She breathed. "I would do anything to have my sight back..." She thought, forgetting that they had been thought speaking. Lero smiled slightly and he flicked his tongue.
It would hurt. Excruciatingly so. But I think I can do it.
Lero whispered. At this, Wolf did collapse. "How...." She whispered. "How can you repair something un-repairable?" She whispered, her eyes staring a the ground.
By mixing the poison on my tongue, I could inject my magic into the poison so that it becomes a cure of anything. But the pain would be terrible afterwards and you would be incapable of anything. You would only be able to breathe and live on through the torment.
Lero said. Pain at the thought of seeing her like that flashed through his eyes, but it was not his wish. He already knew her answer. How she said it, surprised him.
"I've had my heart ripped out of my chest and broken to pieces many times. I've had my mind subjected to horrors like no other. All of this has been through silence and darkness. I have never seen the world and desperately wish to. If it means I must die and kill the devil himself, so be it." She said, her blind eyes hard. Lero blinked in surprise at her answer, then smiled.
So be it, my child.
With that, he crouched down in front of her. He began flicking his tongue, in and out, in and out. His eyes were half closed and his body thrummed with the magic of dragons. his tongue slowly changed from half purple and half red to a bright blue that glowed neon green slightly. "Now." he whispered. His tongue flicked out, looking as if it touched Wolf's eyes. That continued for a few minutes. Then, Wolf's eyes seemed to get clearer each time the tongue flicked in front of them. Wolf let out a gasp as colors burst in front of her eyes. An hour of this passed and then, the pain came. It came fast and attacked in full force. But it wasn't the kind of pain Wolf thought. First, a numbing sensation made her freeze in place. Then, her mind seemed to burn. Slowly, her whole body began to feel as if it was being burnt by dragon fire. Se let out a scream and dropped to the ground, writhing in pain. Then she stopped moving, quietly sobbing. The pain flared inside her. Lero watched, tortured. His claws dug into the earth and he had to look away from Wolf, his teeth bared and eyes scrunched close. "Lero...." Wolf gasped. It was all she could manage as the pain flared through her with new life each time. Lero winced and gently, he curled around wolf and watched over her, waiting for it to finish.
