indentationBenji hissed through his teeth and gritted them. It stung way more than actually getting the wound. "She got you good huh?" He commented looking at her shoulder. He looked at the ground. "I just hope I'm making my dad proud.." He sighed. Benji did really hope for that. He wanted nothing more than see Benji being brave and heroic putting everyone above himself. He was shot out of his thought and hissed through his teeth again when Juniper moved on to the big wound. "Easy. Its raw..H-how bad is it? Please be as honest as possible." He asked pleadingly. If its too bad, he could die. It could get infected, start healing only to be ripped open again by another fight. Anything can happen here.

Juniper looked up at Benji as he talked about his dad, she hadn't really thought about what her family thought, watching her help heal a lower-class lumberjack from their district before attending to her own wound. "Sorry!" she exclaimed as he flinched. "I think I stopped the bleeding... I wish I could use a more reliable disinfectant." Juniper knew that wounds like this would take a while to heal, but she remembered from watching previous games that some tributes had won with worse injuries. "There's not much more I can really do now.." Juniper murmured, cutting off her other sleeve and using it as a makeshift bandage.

Juniper glanced up as the faces of those who died the first day filled the sky. The first being Stitch Reed from district 8, then his young district mate Polly, her red curls sticking out against the darkening sky. Next was Culler Fullgreen of the grain district. Melanie's district partner. Juniper remembered. Then the familiar face of Nina Florence, the girl who Juniper watched die in front of er just earlier, it had seemed longer then that. After that the face of the blonde district 3 boy Lorin Tate, the red haired Astri Bakken and- Raven. Juniper's breath caught in her throat as she saw their ally's face in the sky, signaling that she had died.

Cassia finished tying one of the snares, and carefully set it out a few yards away. When she came back, she found Daniel looking at her. "Search the perimeter then. If you think someone's watching us." She took another sip from her water bottle and sat down beside a pile of supplies. She wasn't going to leave her back exposed, especially with the company she was keeping.

Joshua glanced up in the sky, looking at their faces. 7 lives taken, for no reason! A pit fell in his stomach at the horror of the games, but he had to remember that there were still 17 tributes out there ready to kill him. His distraction caused him to drop the fish, and with a yelp he realized one of the fish had caught on fire. "ack!" He blew the fire out but was left with a completely charred fish. "Better burn then raw I guess..."

Daniel snorted at Cassia, smirking. "Alright, I'll look princess~" He teased, then grabbed his axe and walked around slowly. He was careful to avoid the snares that Cassia had set up, being as quiet as possible. Hearing nothing he was about to turn around, then he noticed a pair of red eyes watching him from the forest. He narrowed his eyes in confusion, then more red eyes appeared, and more, and more..."...MUTTS." He mumbled, then made a run back to the Cornucopia. The mutts launched after him, snarling with large muzzles and teeth. "CASSIA, MUTTS!"

Kyra couldn't help but laugh, her smile and laugh were very bright and contagious, it could cheer up anyone in a bad mood. "I can eat the burnt one if you want. Or we could split both of the fish in half so we each have a burnt piece." She suggested. As much as she hated fish, she was dying of hunger and really wanted to eat.

Cassia stood angrily at the word princess. She was not a princess! He was the one who thought they were being watched so he should be the one to check the perimeter. Startled at hearing him call out mutts, Cassia grabbed her axe, her knives, and a backpack labeled: explosives. Without bothering to help Daniel or Avion, she climbed on top the cornucopia to avoid the mutt's jaws and teeth. There were too many to fight on the ground, but from a higher elevation she would be prepared to take them on. One of them bounded towards her, and focusing on her balance, swung the double-sided axe at it's head. Her blow struck, leaving the mutt to fall over. Of course, it was just one, and there were still many more to come, as they came running out of the woods. "help!" She heard a voice say, and looked to see Avion trying to pull himself onto the cornucopia, his leg caught by a mutt. If she tried to help him and failed she would also fall victim to the beasts. "Sorry." Cassia said, though it wasn't sincere. She slammed her foot on Avion's hand and he fell to the mutts below. When the cannon went off the girl didn't even feel an ounce of remorse.

Joshua's spirits seemed to lift as Kyra's cheerful laughter. "Split them in half." He decided, "Its not fair to make you eat a charred fish!" Since they were done using it, Joshua quickly splashed creek water onto the fire, wincing at the smoke that billowed up in consequence. Joshua hoped that anyone passing by would assume the smoke was from the forest fire earlier.

Daniel meanwhile was running for the Cornucopia top, throwing his axe into one of the mutts heads and killing it instantly. He launched on top, panting heavily. Witnessing Cassia killing Avion, he fell silent in his own thoughts. Thinking about it, Cassia would've probably let him die if that was him, which made him feel a bit saddened by this. He would've saved Cassia if it had been her in that situation...His stomach went warm and fuzzy, and he shook his head. "We should be safe as long as we stay up here then."

Kyra munched on her fish, staring up at the stars in the sky. She couldn't help but wonder if her family missed her. Pausing, she looked over at Joshua, giving him a small smile. "You know, I like to think that the stars shine brighter to some more than others. It's a strange thought, I know, but...I think there's got to be a reason I feel this way, you know? It's like destiny. She scooted a bit closer to him, wanting to be comforted, though she would never admit it easily.

indentationBenji nodded at the girl and put his shirt back on. When the fallen tributes' faces lit up the sky, he felt a sinking feeling in his gut. "Rave..." He gasped. "I failed her..I-I should of went back for her in the fire. I-I saw the careers going after Melanie and my mind blanked." He whimpered. Benji wiped a few stray tears from his face and looked at Juniper. "I'm sorry.." He looked down at the ground in shame and regret.

Cassia noticed Daniel join her atop the cornucopia. "Yeah for now, but they could trample some of our supplies." Not that it mattered if some supplies were damaged, they had plenty, but loosing supplies could still hurt them. Swinging her axe at another mutt, she managed to hit it in the temple and it quickly died. She knew she didn't need to kill the mutts, but it was kind of fun.

Juniper felt tears welling in her eyes at Raven's face, but then gasped as Benji said it was his own fault. "No! No.." She murmured, "You didn't fail her Benji." Juniper tried to be as consoling as possible, but it was hard when their friend's face was still plastered in the sky, a reminder of her death. "Don't be sorry." Juniper breathed, giving him a hug.

Joshua found it hard to eat the fish, he wasn't used to fish being from 10. "I never though about that..." He murmured, glancing up at the sky. The stars twinkled back at him and he couldn't help but smile. Maybe Kyra was right, and the stars did shine brighter for different people. He turned back to her as he noticed her scooting closer, though wasn't sure if it was for comfort or more for warmth.
