”Do the Avengers have the technology to make good on their offer to send someone back? Or is it a theory?” Mutants he knew had those sort of abilities. Perhaps whatever group or team the Avengers were had something or someone similar. However, there were still too many unknowns to be at all comfortable just yet.

One moment, Cosmo was chasing after a pestersome traveler that had been lurking around Knowhere for far too long to be any good news. The next moment, a portal had opened before him and he shot through it before promptly smashing into the legs of a passerby. The portal snapped shut with a pop, leaving the spacesuit-wearing dog in a tangle of limbs. The man he had ran into shouted at him, sending a kick in his direction. Cosmo growled and sent an unpleasant mental shock before trotting down the sidewalk.
He was on Earth, in the United States, he gathered from the minds of the people around him. Exploring his home planet would be fun, but Cosmo had a duty to tend to. Perhaps some other time, then. He approached a disheveled girl who smelled like food scraps and dirt and plastic bags, dipping into her mind and looking at her expectantly as he spoke to her telepathically.
”Excuse Cosmo. Where would he be findink extra-planetary officials?” He tilted his head like, well, a dog and whipped his tail to and fro happily. To most, he looked silly. Dressed like a little cosmonaut with his puffy, white suit and half open helmet.

A strange look passed across his face at the golden-eyed girl’s question. Did he not remember something? Was he missing another part of his past? He stopped himself, trying to convince his own brain that he was cured and didn’t have to worry over that sort of thing anymore. His relaxed, lopsided smile returned as he responded,
”No, sorry, I can’t say we’ve met before. Sorry. But you can still come to my place if you want. It’s not the Ritz but it’s nice enough.” He shifted Miles a bit after hearing him waking up.
”You know what? Let me get him taken care of since I don’t have a spare hand and think he’s coming around again. I’ll be right back.” Nudging his pestersome goat along, Bucky made his way back to his hut house.
Making sure the spider child wasn’t going to roll off the bed and that all the livestock was actually secured, Bucky picked his way through the grass again to where the girl was.
”Correct me if I’m wrong,” he called out,
”but this seems like it’s a little bit more than a coincidence you both just — poof — appeared. This place isn’t exactly the easiest to get into or to find.” In fact, he half expected a visit from T’Challa, Shuri, or at least the Dora Malaje.
Unaware to him was the presence of two more arrivals, hidden out of sight.
