||Mirabelle Everhart|17|She/Her|Aphrodite|Head Counselor|Location: Outside Cabin 10/Campfire|Tags: Ophelia, Ayden|

Mirabelle opened her mouth to protest when Aydan lifted Ophelia up bridal-style. Mes dieux. This is not going to end well. She was mildly surprised as Ophelia simply pushed away and got to her feet - if she had been in Ophelia's position, she probably would have panicked and ended up punching Ayden in the face - intentionally or not.
Her heart sank at Ayden's words, but she nodded anyways. "You're probably right. Let - let me just ask her real quick. I'm her head counselor." Her voice was breathier than she would have liked, with much more worry leaking through the surface than she had intented.
Mirabelle was torn. Torn between her duties as a head counselor, and her duties as a friend. She jogged over to keep up with them, intent on getting Ophelia's opinion. If Ophelia was even coherent enough to give it, that was."Are -" she hesitated, guilt carving itself into her face like the sharp knife it was. "Are you okay if I go back to the campfire?" The words physically hurt her to say. But once again, her responsibility as head counselor took precedence over her personal desires. She knew she would be of no use no matter where she was - she wasn't sure what she could even do in this situation. Sure, she had dealt with it before, and she could coach Ophelia on how to shut it out. There was no way to turn it off, she knew that. But at least there was a way to make it less painful. To keep yourself from drowning in the waves of emotion. It took a lot of energy, and a lot of work to maintain. That being said, Mirabelle herself was in a decent amount of pain. Though she was doing her best to keep it at bay, she guiltily wondered if her own emotional turmoil was affecting Ophelia's current state. Nonetheless, she could at least offer. "I - I can stay, if you want. I might be able to help but - I might just... I might make it worse."
Conversely, Mirabelle knew that if she simply returned to the campfire, she would just drive herself mad with worry. It was at times like these that she wished she could split herself in two - the divide between the Aphrodite head counselor and the girl who cared too much was almost impossible to bear.

||Juliet Pratten|16|She/Her|Hermes|Location Campfire|Tags: Campfire Group, Wilhelm, Hank, Niji, Laika|

Juliet took Will's hand and shook casually, using her left hand due to her sling-bound right arm. "Juliet Pratten." She snorted at being referred to as 'ma'am', but didn't comment otherwise. "Resident troublemaker. Call me Jules. Most people do." Her hazel eyes sharpened with interest when Will mentioned he knew something Chiron should be made aware of. She was about to comment when Will elbowed her in the ribs. "Ow!" she complained loudly. "Gods, okay, okay. I'm clapping. See?" She clapped harder, though not without an annoyed eye-roll. "Anyways. I've you've got something to tell Chiron, go tell him then! I have a feeling he's gonna keep talking until he puts us all to sleep," she huffed. "Or, you could just wait until after. Unless it's super important." Her voice hinted at curiosity; she was incredibly interested to know whatever it was he knew - if only for the value of it being currently rather secretive.
“Thank you Draco,” Chiron smiled kindly. “One more introduction to make before I get into announcements. Everyone, this is Admiral Laika Kreiger, Lieutenant of the Hunters of Artemis. The Hunters are only here to help, so I expect that you all welcome them as cordially as we would under normal circumstances. Unfortunately, we will have to postpone our traditional friendly game of Capture the Flag against them, given the events that have transpired.”
Juliet snorted, rolling her eyes. Great, so bossypants is here to stay. Woohoo. Had she been in better spirits, she may have taken the news in a more jovial light. More people meant more prank victims, after all. But for once in her life, practical jokes were the last thing on her mind.
“Lieutenant, if you have anything to add before I move on?” Chiron turned to the spot next to him, only to find that the Hunter was nowhere in sight. “Lieutenant?”
Juliet couldn’t help but snicker as the centaur turned in a full circle to search for the missing woman. He stopped when he laid eyes upon the mountie, who seemed to be chastising Hank and that new kid, the one with the cupcake hair.
“Lieutenant!” this time, a request, spoken almost more like a command. “I do believe these children have had enough trauma for one night.” He put extra emphasis on the word 'children', almost as if trying to remind her of how young the demigods were in comparison.
Juliet had to strain her ears to hear the rest of the conversation, but it was just too juicy to miss. Man, I hope Chiron’ll tear that cat lady a new one, she brooded. The thought of some random lady - Lieutenant of the Hunters of Artemis or not - coming in here and just ordering them around? It left a foul taste in her mouth, that was for sure.
Chiron poked his head into the Apollo cabin, offering Hank a sad smile. “Hank, if Niji here refused to be treated without Quicksilver, why didn’t you think of treating him outside in the first place?” he suggested gently. “I am pleased that the thought has occurred to you now. Remember to ask your cabinmates for advice if you are unsure of what to do; they're here to support you. Use that to your advantage.”
His face hardened into one of stoic professionalism when he turned back to speak with Laika. “Need I remind you that these demigods are not your soldiers?” He stated, still with that same gentle tone, but an edge of warning this time. “For the duration of your stay, I expect you to treat them with kindness and respect. Do I make myself clear?” He offered her a smile, but Juliet could tell the dude was just trying to keep it together at this point. “Now, if you would like to address the crowd, I’m certain you have their rapt attention.”

|||Chuck Oakes|He/Him|Satyr|Location: Campfire|Tags: Campfire group, Bay|

Chuck clapped for Draco's speech, though everything about what Chiron was saying felt... wrong, somehow. Too casual after everything that had happened. When Bay spoke, he turned his attention back to her, glad to have a reprieve from some sad attempt at normalcy.
"Oh, like, yeah, totally didn't think about the whole 'not trusting technology' thing," Chuck admitted, laughing nervously. He blinked when she asked if the satyrs needed any help with the snow, mentally remarking at how considerate she was. Especially given her own circumstances. "Uh, I think we've got everything covered," he replied. "Like, thanks for offering though. We're actually like, gonna stay in Pan's honourary cabin for now, or Mr. D's, if there's room. There's like, a ton of animals in Pan's." That being said, Pan's cabin was more of a... cabin-shaped tree, or a grove of them. Everything about it was alive. He scratched the back of his neck awkwardly, trying to think of something to say. His focus was pulled sharply to Chiron, however, when the centaur introduced the Lieutenant of the Hunters of Artemis. But the Lieutenant was busy... arguing with campers? Man, that didn't sit right. Chuck felt a rare anger bubble up inside of him, especially seeing that the two involved were Hank and that one new kid who'd nearly passed out from dehydration earlier - Niji, Chuck recalled. And man, did Niji look in bad shape. Chiron seemed to have everything under control for the time being, though, so Chuck took a deep breath to try to cool off. With his enhanced hearing, he didn't even need to strain to hear every word they were saying.

        Chiron called her, once, twice, then started to plod over to the Apollo cabin entirely. Laika made no acknowledgement to his presence, only turning when he started to speak. “I’m sorry, sir. I will keep that in mind. Yet I’m aware trying to stuff a horse, covered in snow and ice, into a miniature temporary hospital is not the best course of action, especially in these trying times. I was just trying to speak sense, you see, but now I am aware it is best not to meddle in these affairs.” she said, voice smooth, and just loud enough for the whole camp to hear. Then she started for the campfire, Chiron just a ways behind her.

        She paused at the edge of the crowd, then steered Loverboy to where Mr. D and the others were waiting. She was about as tall as Chiron, considering she was mounted on a horse. “I’m Laika Krieger, lieutenant of Artemis, and admiral of the Royal Canadian Navy during the Second World War. The hunters are here simply for our scheduled yearly visits, but it seems this turn of events could not have been more fortunate. Now I would say more, but it seems that can be reserved for the meeting table.” Laika swept her gaze across the crowd, eyes piercing into each and every terrified camper. “And, well, as some of you may have already noticed, I can turn into a lion. So really, don’t cross me or my hunters, it’s not worth it. Chiron, you have the floor.”

        Laika left Loverboy with her hunters, and, slipping into her lion form, stood near Chiron, claws unsheathed and tail flicking back and forth.

Draco waited patiently by a tree waiting for Chiron's return with the Lieutenant Laika. He hummed quietly unsure of what to do.

Niji snorted. 'She's so terrifying.' Niji thought sarcastically. They rolled their eyes as they wondered if Hank was okay. He had been taking care of everyone else, but was he taking care of him? Niji ran off to grab a couple donuts and a pack of marshmellows and ran back acting like he had done nothing wrong

Henry "Hank" Walker | 17 | He/him | Apollo/Cabin 7 Head Counselor | Location: outside Cabin 7 | tags: Niji, Dante (NPC)! | mentions: Laika

His public humilation hadn't been fun, but it was worth it if it made Laika move on. He made his way to the medical supplies, trying to ration out exactly what he'd need. He broke off a small piece of ambrosia, noting the limited supply, and grabbed an armful of bandages and what-have-you before he set off after Dante. Well, it would've been setting off after him, if he'd actually left the cabin. "Didn't I tell you we needed to move quickly?" He asked sternly, trying to keep the desperation out of his voice. Dante just looked him over. "I've seen quite a few head injuries today, I just wanted to see if you had one before we set off on a wild goose chase." Dante said, arms folded across his chest.
"Well, it ain't no wild goose chase, so we'd best be getting on with it." Hank said, leading Dante out the door.

He let out a sigh of relief when he noticed that Niji was still there. Thank the gods, she didn't kill them and suck their blood. He strode over to Niji, Dante hot on his heels. "Said I'd be back! Here's Dante, he's the best healer the Apollo cabin has to offer!" He said, somehow both a boast and an encouragement to Niji. Doesn't every cabin keep a weekly track of who's the best in what skill? Hank was glad the Apollo cabin did, but really only in situation's like these.

Ophelia Rogers | 16 | She/her | Aphrodite/Cabin 10 | Location: campfire--> Cabin 22 | tags: Mirabelle, Aydan |

"Ophelia." She answered his question, but didn't add anything to it. He had grabbed her sleeve, and she frowned and snatched his right back, despite her haze. She tried not to grip too hard, but her emotional pain made it difficult. "I'll be okay, Mira, it's just a headache" She tried to over her friend a smile as she was led away, but it quickly turned into a wince. She turned to follow Aydan, the waves of anguish taking shape, growing into distinct tremors.

'Noooo! I wanna stay, please?' She'd begged. Oh gods, she'd begged. 'Now dear, it just wouldn't fit in the plans. We have to be in Houston next week for my new job, and you wouldn't want me to leave you all alone, would you now?' He'd said it so easily. Too easily. 'Will I see them again?' She'd asked, tears fading into dispair when they'd fallen on deaf ears. A dry chuckle 'You'l find life rarely gives you what you desire' He'd said, looking out into the road ahead as he put more miles between her and the ribboned girls, her and her sisters.

She pulled herself out of it to look up. The camper, Aydan, was walking too slowly, too deliberately. Is he...lost? "Cabin twenty-two is at the base of the U, by the one that looks like a tree." Shoot, her weakness was softening her tone. "Hurry up, or I will scream in your ear." She said, more of a warning than a threat. It'll have to do.

Agatha "Aggy" Clemson | 15 | She/her | Unknown (Ares)/Cabin 11| Location: Center of Cabins with fire | tags: Jamie, other kids at campfire, open | mentions: Chiron, Laika, Draco

Aggy was pulled out of her mind by the steady chatter of the centaur. The words were meaningless, dust upon the breeze, the same words you'd hear at any introduction ceremony. She sighed and let them wash over her, ignoring them with the same ease she'd have at any other time.

Until he pointed out the campers, and a strange women, standing in the back and arguing about something. Aggy strained to hear, eager to use whatever weakness had gotten them to this point later. Of course, they were too far away, but the horses did seem to be involved...somehow.

The women dropped her horse off with a collection of other women, then headed forward to say a few things. Standard "I did X and Y and Z, look at me!" speech. Aggy rolled her eyes, and made a mental note to ask her what her name was again later. Then she turned into a lion, and while Aggy herself was pretty amazed, the other campers didn't seem to be flustered by it, so she took her cue and painted on a blank expression. I wonder if I'll be able to do that, when I find out which one of these bastards fathered me, I'll have to ask about it, she told herself, brightening a little despite the dour mood everyone else carried.

Jack "Reese" Dawson | 17 | Hades/Cabin 13 | Location: campfire | tags: Open! campfire group | mentions:

Reese watched Chiron and the other centaur talk, drinking in their every word. Chiron, despite all that had happened, sounded just as unaffected as usual. That was, until Hank and some other doofus were caught having a verbal catfight with a hunter he was supposed to be introducing. Reese held back a laugh at Chiron's expression as he quickly turned his ire on the hunter, who had managed to call forth his ire.

She stood by the campfire, said some words about being a lieutenet of Artemis, then promptly turned into a lion. All in a day's work. He clapped polite as she exited, even though not many others did. Eh, it's not every day you get talked down to by a moody World War two vet...at least, anymore. He frowned as his thoughts turned back to his grandfather, and yet another speech about trench warfare. You never know they're the good old days, until they're gone.

      ────────────────────────────────────────────────────── ➸
      head counselor ♀/15 years daughter of Poseidon tags/mentions: Juliet, Will

        Hu rather liked foxes. They had adorable snouts, small, round paws, and big fluffy tails. Foxes were smart, but also mischievous, and could get away with anything they wanted. Hu liked them a lot.

        Of course, there was also the fact that she’d been blessed by a fox spirit. Couldn’t forget that.

        Hu was standing near the edge of the crowd, Ling at her side, and contemplating this. She’d been called a fox, and took pride in it, but she knew she would never be a fox. For one, foxes wouldn’t be that distressed over a building falling down. Granted, they were more than clever enough to understand the graveness of the situation, but a fox would move on, and go find another crow to trick, as Hu’s mother had said.

        She steered clear of the fire. Hu and fire, they didn’t get along well. Even if it was pitch black, Hu wasn’t about to expose herself to the heat.

        Her friend and accomplice in crime Juliet Pratten was seated a bit closer to the convulsing flames, talking to Will, a Hephaestus camper for all Hu knew. She started forwards, but was stopped by a rather disgruntled Chiron calling for a certain Lieutenant of Artemis. The one who directed us when the house collapsed, she realized.

        Hu couldn’t help but snicker, quietly, when Laika mentioned the rather senseless task Hank was trying in vain to perform. Ling glared at her, yellow eyes glowing in the darkness. “Alright, Zero fox, I’ll stop.” she laughed, whispering while scratching her fox behind the ears. Ling’s nine tails, who seemed to be merely an illusion to most, rubbed affectionately around Hu’s legs. Ling, when pronounced in Mandarin, was a homophone to the world ‘zero’ in Chinese. And when Ling stood in the dark or in bright sunlight, her silver pelt made her melt into the backdrop, giving a sense of nothing. Thus, zero. Then, Laika introduced herself, and Hu couldn’t help but be impressed. That was a lot done in one lifetime, even if it was immortal. Ling’s eyes were the size of dinner plates when the hunter turned into a lion.

        Then she was done, and Hu found herself at Juliet’s side. “Hey Shakespeare,” she said, her mouth curling into a smirk. She was briefly putting the night’s tragedies aside. “And Kaiser Wilhelm, I see you’ve returned to camp” she said, calling Will by the nickname from his last stay at camp. “Nice to meet you, nice to meet you. I hear Ms. Unit of Electricity here is calling herself resident troublemaker? I’m sorry about my friend here, Kaiser, she is obviously very confused. You see, I’m afraid that title may go to me.” she eyed the two playfully, eyebrow raised. It was all playful banter, of course, Juliet would hit Hu back with a smart retort, and the two would go off, bickering and laughing at the same time. Then she remembered that Wilhelm seemed to have something juicy to hear. “Well, what’re you trying to hide, Burr?” she taunted, quoting a musical she rather enjoyed. Hu was always quoting Hamilton, left and right. “You may as well tell him later, Chiron seems to be off on a rather long tangent from what I can tell. And we’ll be right behind you, when you do, not all listening in.” The mischievous curiosity gleamed in Hu’s eyes, and Ling was staring at Wilhelm, as if she could tell what he was going to say just by not blinking.

Skylar Kakitid, 16 years old, Female, Daughter of Hecate, 7 year camper, Location: Campfire, Tags: Lucy, Mentions: Wilhelm

Skylar laughed playfully at girl's swoon. As a child of Hephaestus, the boy Will, would be fine. As she continued on, Skylar nodded grimly as the girl exclaimed from shock. Then the girl made a startling proclamation: She claimed the Grey Sisters knew what was causing the snow. Based on what Skylar had heard at the Emergency Counselor Meeting, she thought she did too. Vivienne. Gods, she hoped she was wrong. Then again, the girl might have heard something totally different. That would be so great! But that would mean the Grey Sisters would have to have actually told the girl and her friend, Will. They did like to have information that Camp Half-Blood didn't have. Skylar widened her eyes. "Did they tell you? Do you know who or what is causing this?"

Bay Laurel, Immortal, Female, Drayd, Location: Campfire, Tags: Chuck, Mentions: Npcs, Laika

Bay briefly watched as the lead Hunter got reprimanded a bit by Chiron, then walked up to give a short speech. The speech was actually pretty scary and intimidating. That Lieutenant did not seem the type you would want as an enemy. She silently shifted as the Hunter walked away. Chuck mentioned Pan's Cabin and Bay nodded thoughtfully. Poor satyrs, couldn't turn into to trees to sleep through the cold. She could, but she still liked to stay in near the other dryads in the forest. It was warmer in the forest, and all the dryads helped each other.

Suddenly, Aala, one of her best friends who also happened to be a sparrow, flew out from somewhere and landed on her shoulder. Aala affectionately pecked at Bay's hair and the dryad giggled quietly. "Chuck, this is Aala. Aala, Chuck." The bird hopped into Bay's outstretched hand and Bay reached her hand toward Chuck. She wondered why the bird had come over here. Aala didn't usually like being around so many people.

Will pondered the thought. While he didn't want to interrupt the current base of announcements, it was definitely important. Important enough to warrant interruption? Personally, Will didn't think so, but that could be his aversion to the spotlight coming into play. "He's pretty good at puttin' campers t' sleep." He admitted. Though, this crew around here looked like they could use a nap or two. Especially after all that had gone down, as he felt there was more to this than just the roof collapse. He saw injured campers everywhere; cabin 7 was jam-packed with them, and Apollo campers were doing their best to accommodate everyone under their roof. Will waited expectantly for the next announcements from Chiron. The Hunters are here too? He gazed over the crowd to spot the Lieutenant, who Chiron was attempting to introduce. Soon, Chiron departed briefly to retrieve her. Strange. He sat in silence as she introduced herself as Laika Krieger, admiral of the Royal Canadian Navy during the Second World War. Quite a title to wear, he could certainly respect that. Once her introduction was finished, Wilhelm timidly stepped forward. "Er, Chiron sir? I 'ave somethin' you may want t' hear."

||Mirabelle Everhart|17|She/Her|Aphrodite|Head Counselor|Location: Campfire|Tags: Ophelia, Ayden --> Campfire Group; Aphrodite NPCs, Open|

"But -" Mirabelle cut herself off, quickly realising that protesting would do her no good. "Alright. I'll be in to check up on you when the announcements are over, okay?" She knew a lie when she heard one, especially given that she could feel the other girl's emotions pushing against her carefully constructed barrier. Nonetheless, she let it slide, though her heart panged when Ophelia's smile turned into a wince. However much part of her desperately wanted to follow them, to try her best to help, she forced herself to walk back to the campfire.
When she reached the dismal flames, she was welcomed back by her teary cabinmates, who gave her a rundown on everything that had happed so far. Albeit with some judgy comments here or there. She did her best to focus on what Chiron and the Lieutenant were saying, but her mind was still with Ophelia and her suffering. I really, really hope she meant it when she said she'll be okay. Mirabelle knew just as well as anyone how volatile emotions could be. Especially those of others, and if you're not prepared to deal with them... They could have devastating consequences on the psyche.
Chiron's voice did float in now and then - she heard most of the important parts of his speech, though her brain was in no place to process the words in the given moment.
A notable change in Chiron's tone brought her fully back to the present. She quickly realised he had started to list the names of the campers who had passed. Though Chiron was doing his best to be comforting and professional, she knew it was only a front. She could see through the cracks in his mask. Gods, I hope mine's holding up as well. Though she hadn't donned her usual cheer - it would be bizarre given everything that had happened, and frankly, she didn't have the energy - her face remained resolute yet sympathetic. The weight of it all was almost enough to crush her, but she did her best to keep her emotional walls intact. The only pain clawing its way through the bulwark was her own. She had to bite down on her cheeks rather firmly to keep her turbulent feelings in check. I knew them. All of them. It was true - with her social tendencies, she had interacted with each one of them at least a few times in the past. Some, she knew better than others - Treble Mason; one of the Ares kids who had shouted insults at her cabinmates every day as they passed Cabin 5 on the way to breakfast. Horace Smith, the son of Hephaestus who had last given Rhódon a tune-up. Dara Patel of the Hypnos cabin. He had even been one of the people present for -
No. She wasn't going to think about that. Not here, not now. It was already a struggle to keep herself together in the face of all this loss. Adding the guilt of her terrible deeds in the past would certainly push her over the edge.
A light tug on her sleeve directed her attention to someone behind her. One of her cabinmates; a younger girl named Celia. The black firelight cast her half-sister's face in eerie shadow, only amplifying the concern and fear in her eyes. Mirabelle sheepishly wondered if the shadowy light made her look just as sallow.
"Um, sorry to bother you, but - where's Alex? I haven't seen him since Capture the Flag."
Mirabelle's stomach nearly dropped through the ground. He hadn't been amongst the deceased listed - she already knew all of their names by heart. That gave her a little hope, at least. She certainly wasn't Alex's biggest fan, but he was still part of Camp Half-Blood; part of her cabin - and that made him family.
"He's probably just off doing something reckless and harebrained," Mirabelle assured the younger girl, giving her shoulder a reassuring rub. She didn't know who she was trying to convince more - Celia or herself. Either way, she knew she would have to report it to Chiron before bed.

||Juliet Pratten|16|She/Her|Hermes|Location Campfire|Tags: Campfire Group, Wilhelm, Hu|

Juliet's mouth curled upwards in a small smile when Hu approached them, though her eyes were still tired and sad. "Pff. Yeah, right. As if you could surpass my many crowning achievements. Nice try, Who." A sad attempt at humour, she knew. Her tone was deflated and darker than usual - no matter how many jokes she made, Juliet couldn't deny the shadow of grief that had fallen over her like an inky cloak. However, she blinked in astonishment when Hu mentioned Will's full name. "Wait. Your name is Wilhelm?" she scoffed. She opened her mouth again for a witty retort, but she found that she didn't have it in her. Instead, she sighed, defeated for the time being. "Gods, this is depressing. I'm so down I can't even make a joke out of that. Jeez." She watched as Will headed over to talk with Chiron, wisely choosing a pause in his dialogue to do so.
“Thank you Lieutenant,” Chiron nodded cordially before turning back to the campers. “Just as I expect the Hunters to treat you with respect, I expect that you extend to them the same courtesy. Shows of blatant intimidation and fighting will not be tolerated. Especially given the circumstances.” His gaze swept over the demigods of Camp Half-Blood and the Hunters of Artemis alike, indicating that no one was exempt from this rule.
Juliet simply snorted, rolling her eyes for the umpteenth time that meeting. Yeah. Like I'd respect anyone who goes around sassing traumatized kids, she wanted to say, though she kept her mouth shut for the time being. Sure, it was kind of dumb for Hank to try to get a horse into the Apollo cabin, but that didn't mean that it had to blow up into a whole issue. Sometimes Mirabelle's gentle, friendly approach really was the best solution to a situation. Yuck. I can't believe I just thought that. I need to remove my brain and scrub it with soap or something.
When Will approached Chiron, he turned to him with kind eyes. “I would like to get through this first, if you don't mind,” the centaur murmured, just loud enough for Juliet to hear. Even she could tell how hard he was trying to stay put together in that given moment. Something in his gaze told her he needed to push the rest of his speech out before the grief fully consumed him. She didn't doubt that he'd seen a lot of demigods die in the past - but he was a good-hearted sort. He probably mourned each death just like the rest of the campers did.
“Regarding current events,” Chiron spoke up, signaling for the crowd to quiet. “We may not be the only group of demigods under attack. Dionysus and I have been attempting to get ahold of Camp Jupiter, but our efforts have been fruitless thus far. We were able to make contact with the Magicians - it seems that they have their own set of problems.” Though the news he carried was dark to be sure, his voice remained steady and calm. “We will continue our attempt to get through to Camp Jupiter, but we must also keep ourselves safe in the face of our icy foe.” He gave the gathered demigods a comforting smile, though his eyes remained sad and distant. His countenance soon took on a grim air. “As a good portion of you know, there has been a prophecy spoken,” Chiron declared. “A quest is in order. However, the prophecy failed to specify the number of demigods attending.”
Juliet raised an eyebrow. Now that was weird. Hushed murmurs from all around told her that she wasn’t the only one who’d thought that.
“The Senior Counsel has convened and discussed the matter. If any of you have had dreams that could potentially be prophetic, please meet at the Big Hou -”
Chiron stopped himself mid sentence as the realisation seemed to sink in. “Meet inside the mess hall after breakfast,” he corrected, though his tone seemed notably deflated. “You will not be forced to join this quest, but your dreams could contain some valuable information to those who are to go. Anyone interested in venturing out should also attend; preferably those of you who have more experience and training. We have already lost eighteen precious lives today - let’s try to keep that number from ascending.” He sighed ever so lightly, though it didn’t take a genius to tell how much emotion he was holding back for the sake of the campers.
“You may begin work on funeral shrouds for the deceased and those leaving on the quest after breakfast. Those for the deceased take priority. Cabins thirteen and twenty-three have informed me that there are indeed eighteen deaths, but only seventeen bodies have been recovered. Please notify me of any missing cabinmates. We will send out a search party tomorrow. However, if we do not recover a body, a burial shroud will be burned in its place.” Chiron paused, surveying the faces of the gathered demigods. Then the even ghastlier news came, heavy with grief.
“Those lost tonight. Treble Mason of Cabin Five, Brendon Bauer of Cabin Twelve, Gianna Cooper of Cabin Eleven...” The remainder of the names faded under the weight of Gianna’s. Sure, Juliet hadn’t known her all that well, but she had been one of her cabinmates for as long as she could remember. And now Gianna was suddenly gone? Just like that? The thought made everything in Juliet just feel... hollow. Empty. Even Mr. D looked notably more upset than usual - after all, he had lost one of his children.
“I know this is difficult for all of you,” Chiron sighed. His voice broke ever so slightly, and he took a steadying breath. “I feel your pain and share in it equally. Normally, this would be where I would have the Apollo cabin lead you in a sing along. But tonight, I believe it is best that you all get some rest. You have had quite the day. If you need medical attention, please seek it before returning to your cabins.” Here, he looked pointedly at Orin. “And overall, take care of one another. It is at times like these that we need each other more than ever.”
With his less-than-heartening speech finished, Juliet watched as Chiron turned back to Will. “I apologise for asking you to wait,” he said gently. Even from her vantage point, the daughter of Hermes could see that his eyes shone with sadness and sympathy. “Now, what is it you wish to tell me?”
Though some of her cabinmates and friends had started to shift away from the fire, Juliet crept closer to hear what Will and Chiron were talking about. He'd certainly piqued her curiosity earlier, and if she didn't find out what he had to say, she had a feeling it would prod at her mind like a loose spring poking through a matress.

Chuck was one of the few who awkwardly clapped for Laika's... less than warm and fuzzy speech. He nearly jumped out of his skin when she transformed into a lion and stood menacingly beside Chiron. Man, I hope she doesn't do that near Pan's honourary cabin, he mused, dread filling the pit of his stomach. Like, that would totally incite a panic with all the animals livin' there right now.
His attention was brought back to Bay when a sparrow suddenly landed on her shoulder. He nodded at the introduction, and even waved to Aala. "Like, nice to meet you," he said politely, offering the bird a sad smile. He held out his own hand in case Aala wanted to hop over. "Anything we can, like, help you with?"
Chuck split his attention between Bay, Aala, and Chiron's speech. However, his face fell and his heart threatened to stop beating when the centaur got to the deaths. Eighteen campers... Man. He didn't even know what to say. As the names were listed off, he felt his eyes fill with tears again. So many gone, and all in one night... It was almost too much to handle. He was almost relieved when Chiron cancelled the sing-along. He wasn't sure he could even speak at that point, let alone sing.

Draco waited patiently by a tree waiting for Chiron's return with the Lieutenant Laika. He hummed quietly unsure of what to do.

Niji glanced over at Dante rather untrustingly.
"Did you eat Hank?" Niji asked. "Don't ask where or how I got it." He said quickly giving the pair a innocent smile.
"It's pretty stupid for Laika to just use her powers carelessly isn't it?"
Niji tried to change the subject and hoped that the pair wouldn't notice it.

Aydan nodded and took her directions, speeding up his pace.why was he following directions from this girl, maybe because she actually knew her way around the camp? he finally got them to his cabin. He opened the door and lead her to a bed "Um, make yourself comfortable. Do you need anything? Warmer clothing?" he asked her. He looked down at his own stiff clothing, he should probably change soon too. He wondered if they had already moved his stuff from the Hermes cabin. "Sorry if I seemed a bit... lost I guess, I just got claimed during capture the flag and I'm new to camp but... you don't want to know any of that." he said stopping himself from rambling more. He tossled his hair and sat on the edge of the bed putting his head in his hands. He still was feeling a bit overwhelmed but not as much as when he made the blizzard go crazy. He let out a sigh that he didn't know he was holding in.
