Carmen muttered something very vulgar under her breath, but commented no further. She hadn't liked Kat in the first place, by no fault of her own, but she did dislike that she couldn't control her temper.
"Because we all chose what we can transform into and to be here except for you..." then she turned back to Mikey, Cara and Jamai. She was going to say something, but as soon as Cara mentioned that she didn't have an parents, it escaped her entirely.

Cara wanted to change the subject and suggested, "how about we gather some fire wood and make a fire until Sam gets here?"

"Whatever..." Kat looked at the water, growing seasick already. She pressed her palms against her temples and closed her eyes for a moment, trying to regain balance, then turned to the woods. Much better. She picked up twigs and some dead, dried out grass for kindling, stuffing them into her pockets, then saw a branch, already dead and hanging off a tree. She stood on her tiptoes and reached up until she could get a good grip on it, then jumped up, and ripped down, the branch cracking agreeably. It was still holding on though, and she'd need a hand. "Someone get over here and gimmee some help with this branch."

Jamai took a deep breath and stalked off in the other direction. She wasn't fond with making a fire so she got cozy in the shadows of the forest.

"Can't you cut it off with lightning?" Cara asked Mikey. Her eyes were starting to droop and she was yawning.

"Sure." Mikey said as he pointed a finger at the branch and watched as electricity seemed to shoot from it and hit the branch, sparking and causing a small fire in the tree. "Crap..." he muttered, that wouldn't be good...

Jamai got up and moved into the shadows that covered the shore, still staying away from where they were making the fire.
