Kaii quirked a brow and had a light scowl on her face. She turned away and hopped down from her horse. She put her white lace gloves back on and dragged the train of her dress down behind her. She adjusted the fitted bodice of her gown and her hair, giving Lucius an unamused look. "See, it's men like you that put me on edge. Next thing you know you're going to tell me how the kitchen is my place, and that an unmarried woman is a waste of potential, and how riding a horse like that isn't proper, or even me not wearing knickers or a corset is a crime against humanity. I do not appreciate being laughed at because I value one thing I have against authoritive men- an upper hand in combat." She put her hat on her head, an action as if to say, 'that's that'. "My life may not be glamourous. But I hold that gracefully deadly attitude for good reason."

"i'm afraid you misunderstood me my dear lady ~" he taunted with a smirk. "i don't think any of those things toward you ... rather ... you seem to be underestimating me, which is the only thing i laugh at here." he chuckled. "you may ride your horse however you like, it doesn't matter to me. You may cook, but i do not see it as a place for a woman, but of equal jobs between men and women. You may not wear knickers or a corset, but that does not make you any less of a lady, just an odd one. as for a 'married woman', ii do not think that defines a woman's worth, rather more it just shows she was able to find her significant other ... " he replied, now looking at her, eyes serious. "think what you might, but just as you - i will not be told who will win or lose ... pay more attention to my words, now would you? they mean more then just simple folly." [loop hooooles]

Harllequinebegan pouring tea "It is a scone, dear." she smiled sweetly "Eat it,it will fill you up and i hope you arent illergec to bueberries, there are some with init to make it more sweet." she set the cup of tea on the tablebeside Ashley's bed "Thistea is my favorite, it's lady grey, lavender pettles in it to take the harshness from the black leaves."

Kaii's eyes remained narrow through his speech. She took her horse by the reins and thought before she looked again to Lucius. Her face was, again, impassive, her full lips as inexpressive as her eyes. She studied Lucius, sizing him up again. He looked like he wouldn't win easily. But never judge a book by its cover. "As you wish," was all she said.

The girl gave a weak nod and took a small bite of the scone, a bit surprised by it's unfamiliar taste, being rather crumbly but also sweet and buttery. She then looked over to the tea, having already been able to smell the lavender added from where she sat in bed. "i-it smells lovely ... thank you ..." she whispered softly. "t-the scone tastes really nice as well.."

The man smirked and soon gave a nod, facing forward once more before walking once again. He found amusement in what company he had found in this woman, taking quite pleasure in playing his little mind games with the un-expecting duchess. He would continue his ruse and allow for more games to follow, waiting to see what else he could uncover from this woman's perplexing personality and mindset.

Kaii stayed behind several paces, petting Achilles as she thought about what Lucius said, combing through his words. He reminded her of someone she used to know. She looked back at him and walked with Achilles, Tu'Pa tagging along beside her.

Harllequine smiled gently at Ashley "you are very welcome, dear." she sat in a chair near the bed "So, how did you sleep? I think I saw you crack a few smiles."

As the man walked, he noticed how quiet the woman became, growing a little curious. He however didn't ask any questions and kept walking, focusing more on getting to Undertaker's little 'home away from home' first. As he walked, he thought about how interesting it might be for Kaiiyen to interact with the odd long grey haired man in black.

The girl continued to nibble on the scone, waiting until the tea cooled down enough for her to take a sip. When she heard the questions, she looked up for a moment. "oh ... i ... remembered something from my past ... something that was actually ... nice ..." she murmured softly, now looking down at the small bit of scone left in her hand.

Harllequine noticed her expression and stood "Would you like another? I made a dozen." she smiled "What was it you remembered, if i may ask, darling?"
