Just a soft whizzing caught Misty's attention, and the next thing she knew a huge wave of heat, dirt and air blew into her. She half-jumped-half-fell behind the wall and covered her ears against a sickening sound.
Once the explosion was over, the girl peeked over the wall and looked around. There were several dead bodies around, and she could easily make out here the missile had hit because there was almost nothing but debris and scorch marks there. And Nightingale and Shay were a little ways away. Her dark eyes went wide and her hand went to her mouth.
It was right were Bree stood. Right there. And now there wasn't a single trace of her. Misty stood up quickly and looked around, finding several other Wren members as well.
Joel had run to the bus, and she could see that Surreal has been injured. She simply shook her head then ran to catch up with Joel. She stepped around the overturned bus and tried to look into one of the smoke stained windows for any sign of Ty or the captive, but all she could see was darkness. Misty walked around the bus again, glancing at Joel. "C-can you see anything?" she asked quietly, not knowing what else to do.

"Not yet. But at the same time, my eyes haven't gotten used to the darkness yet." It took all of Joel's will not to start yelling at this girl. It was so obvious, though, that the rising tide of anger and outrage brewing within him was trying with all its might to break free. Every muscle on Joel's body was trembling, tighter than a wound spring. And for once, he didn't care about how he looked in front of this girl.
Finally he could take it no more and he suddenly punched the bus, leaving a. Clear fistprint in the smooth metal. Godd*mn it. If even another assassin died today he would never be able to forgive himself. "Ty?" he called again, and dropped down into the dimly-lit interior of the bus. He landed, cat-like, on a pole, legs crunched underneath him. "I really hope I don't have to clean up your guts."

[[I am a very bad person. You should all shun me. However, I am finally ready to post.

Is anyone willing to sum up what's going on? If not, that's cool. I'll sort it out.

While you wait for this space to fill, here's an amazing picture of Ty:

Shay//

There's nothing quite like an explosion to put things into perspective. There is no time to think, no time to register anything. One minute Shaygrin was on her feet, and the next she wasn't.

The pain came a split second afterwards.

Shay heard roaring. The sound dulled to a hollow ringing, but did not fade away. Shay pulled herself up, marvelling that she was able to do so. In fact, as she assessed herself, she found that she was relatively unscathed. Kuar. Must have been Kuar. Her guardian angel was back. She smirked slightly, but the expression was tense and uncertain, unveiled by trauma. Shay had not had anyone looking out for her in a very long time. She couldn't imagine that she would take to it too well.

Her smile faded as she stood up stiffly and did a head count. Assassins were getting up, looking bewildered and pained. Everyone was accounted for. Everyone except...

Shay sucked in her breath. It pulled over her injured ribs, but she ignored the pain.

Bree!

She looked around wildly. Bree was unaccounted for. Her daughter. Her baby. Her baby was gone. She looked around wildly, but she knew that her daughter wasn't there. She could just tell.
Bree! she yelled again, but not as wildly. It was futile, and it hurt. With a growl of furious terror, she wheeled and made a beeline for the bus, yelling,
Is anyone seriously injured? Is the prisoner secure? Ty?

It took her a moment to register that the bus was not the way she had left it. Her eyes widened. Not Ty too.

Ty!

//Ty//

No, he wasn't getting it right. He frowned in consternation.
Please, can't you try a bit harder? I still don't understand, he insisted. He stepped closer, his eyes brightening as they landed on her mouth, or rather, the place where her mouth, in theory, was.
Of c- he began, and then he wasn't on his feet any more. He was being knocked about quite horrendously. His mind remained detached and took detailed notes. He had this idea forming for...

Something sailed past him. Something soft which smelled nice. He grabbed it without thinking, and held it close to his chest as he flew head-first into the wall of the bus. This was not very good for him. He may not have been human, but nothing thrives from having its head bashed in. He may have lost consciousness temporarily. He wasn't sure. The next thing he knew, he was looking at a shadowy figure which had dropped into the bus.

He was not the right way up. Ty staggered to his feet. The bus groaned, and tipped back onto its wheels with a deafening thud.
Mgglff, he said. He frowned. He tried again.
'Mfn... No, not quite what he was looking for.

Trembling, clinging onto soft-warm-thing-might-be-humanoid as if it were a security blanket, he found his voice.
I'm okay. All of my innards seem to be inside me, thank you. I have the prisoner. I think. What just happened? Is this a game? I don't think I want to play any more. Can I just go back to my computer, please?

//Bree//

Bree stirred, licking her lips dazedly. She was lying on sand. Something about this seemed fundamentally wrong, but she couldn't quite place why. She smelled the man before she opened her eyes, and knew before she saw him that he was not a 'man'. She didn't really care. Bree's hands burned. She whimpered. So did the robed creature standing over her, but they did so for different reasons. Bree couldn't sit up. Her ears crackled.

Her mother would have been furious.

She opened her eyes as the creature flipped up his hood. She stared, frightened and disorientated. She didn't know what was going on. She did know that she didn't like it. The creature's voice seemed far away, blurred and indistinct. Something ran towards them. Bree drew breath to cry out, but before she could, she was whisked away again.

Bree's body was not made for travel of that sort. She could barely flit a mile without losing her lunch. Some creatures were meant to take part in spontaneous travel. Her mother was alarmingly good at it. Bree was not. She dropped like a stone, falling awkwardly, painfully onto her side. She panted, trembled, tried to rise, failed miserably and flopped like a dying fish.

By the time she could focus her eyes, a horrendous-looking creature was gesturing to her. She stared at it blankly, and then suddenly, like a cat, leapt to her feet and ran. She didn't know where she was going, but she certainly wasn't sitting down in the chair offered by the creature.

She was dazed, but she certainly wasn't stupid.

Kuar

Kuar closed his eyes cringing slightly hearing shay scream for her child. It was a terrible thing to hear, the worry, the fear, the anxiety. This also mixed with the fact that his ears were bleeding slightly from a concussion like force that was the result of the missile strike. Reaching up Kuar cupped his ears slightly kneeling to the ground, the ringing in his ears still prominent sound he could hear. He hated it, it made him feel insecure, uncertain of things going on. Flicking his tail he wrapped it back so it lay underneath his cloak once more, soon followed by his wings. The surprising thing about this was, there was no signs that he even had wings under the cloak, not to the naked eye. The cloak itself bore his assassin symbol, and name, and was bound with some interesting magic. Basically to sum it up, the cloaks underlining itself was like a bag of holding, able to hide anything of any size with no visible size change. The outside remained flat, laying like it would on a human across his back. It gave him the act of surprise no matter the situation he was in, minus those who knew him.

Flicking his tail again, Kuar looked over the group assessing who had been with him. Everyone was bad, hurt, and needing guidance, but Shay, seemed panicked. Then again what mother wouldn't, if they truly cared for their children. Walking next to the impact spot Kuar placed his claws on the ground, a light blue mist flowing up from them. The smoldering ground began to smoke and eventually puffed out, the flame having been quenched. Lifting his hand he started running after Shay, who was heading for the bus. They would have to move fast, otherwise they would be suspect number one in a mass murder situation. He made sure to stay behind Shay, or next to her as they reached the bus. His tail flicked a few more times as he listened, hearing someone still up and alive inside the bus. Whoever it was, probably was who she was screaming for. Ty, her only son, and the tech of the Wren. He was curious still about who Shay had settled down with or spent the night with that resulted in kids. But he pushed the curiosity aside, it was a question for another time. For now, he was more focused on getting the team moving. Looking to Shay "Shay...I don't mean to sound pushy or unfeeling on this...but time is of the essence, the team needs to move. Not to state the obvious but its not safe here, and who knows if there will be another shot. Get Ty, he seems fine, I'll help the rest of the team." Kuar shifted uncomfortably, he had never been good with words of calm and kindness, trying to get someone to understand he means well, but this was important.

Finally he split away from Shay, moving to each member as needed and healing them enough so they could move without massive pain. Whether this be by numbing nerves, or healing the wounds he did it. He was still tired, but he bore a sense of duty in this situation. Finally when he managed to get to the last member, he leaned on one of the trees. He always seemed to take care of others before himself, he was visibly tired. Yawning he looked over to Shay to see what to do next, it was time he stopped acting like the leader here, since he most definitely wasn't. So, he waited for Shays next move, her next order, her next..new plan. Things had not been going well at all lately, maybe having Shay here would fix that, he didn't know, all he could do was wait. Its not like the team trusted him anyway, he still had the symbol of Malacia's crew on his shoulder, having not bothered taking it off since it was attached to his cloak at this time. He looked at it for a second, before looking back at Shay. It was something he would deal with AFTER they got somewhere safe and could plan things out without being blasted by something or someone.

// Cast of a Die \\

A million things can happen over the course of one single second. One could win the lottery. Hit a squirrel. Spill a drink. Be thrown across a bus due to a massive exterior force while bound and gagged crashing into the very individual keeping you captive. Of course that is an extreme and rather unlikely scenario, right? One day, Jessica really need to have a word with Lady Luck.

The abrasive thrill of being tossed about the vehicle left Jessica lying in her captor's arms semiconscious and staring into his chest. As might be imagined, after severe concussive trauma, even a brilliant mind such as hers could give into base instincts, not that she'd ever admit it. Burying herself in the man's chest she lets the waterworks flow.

The tumbling bus served as a perfect metaphor for what she'd experienced over the last few days. An anonymous tip arrived at the InterPol offices that there would be a major attack on a small cafe in Geneva, following procedure dispatch sent a team to the county, a very large team at the Captain's insistence, to investigate. Things proceeded accordingly until an HVT appeared in the area, openly revealing his presence and antagonizing the local law. Still manageable and by the book.

Then things went to Hell.

Reports of open gun battles in the streets started pouring in. Civilians flooded the roads all fleeing from one central point. Cafe Venetia. The news jumped all over the events, desperate to get any coverage they could they started to swarm police HQ's cramming into the already overpacked stations and streets. The police were delayed several minutes as riot squads were deployed to clear enough space that SWAT vehicles could deploy. Military elements scrambled from the nearby station.

An explosion rocked the cafe and the city became still, as though the entire affair died in the blast. Police searched the streets for the offenders, clearing building after building in search of the personnel responsible for the attack but they failed to find any. The only bodies they discovered were those of the officers who fell, blood samples were taken where spatters and pools were found but they'd all been contaminated at the scene and proved useless.

Then Hell came home.

A strike hit at a nearby ice cream parlor, only about a block away from the offices. Gunfire, bright lights, explosions and then Kaboom. The building lay in a pile of rubble. Emergency responders sorted through the wreckage in hopes of finding survivors. They did, sorta. The creature they discovered appalled them. The tattered remains of a woman struggled beneath a section of roofing, her one arm clearly broken and her torso torn asunder, key organs displayed to the world and...chewed open in the likeness of a bag of catnip left to the beasts themselves.

Groaning and grunting men freed the woman from her prison, allowing EMTs to her aid. The first man never even screamed, her broken arm caught him in the throat, causing him to stumble and her teeth found his. The second thrust his arm into the mix hoping to stop the attacking but losing a chunk instead. Then the officers shot. Twelve rounds tore through her torso before a HazMat team appeared and secured the creature for transport. Jessica had been so excited when they arrived with her new toy.

Now...Now she knew the true meaning of terror. Heavy metal bracers and electronic locks trapped her hands and feet. The new toy, the creature that not even death yet claimed, existed outside of her perception, possibly free and drawing nearer for the feast. A vampiric male bore her close, further trapping her in this state of weakness and vulnerability. Now that the bus stopped rolling, physically and emotionally, only fear and desperation remained.
"Vägen till krig stenläggs med de frusita själarna av det modiga."
