"Y-yes, ma'm, I am a bit lost," said the werewolf, "I was looking for the exit, actually. My friend has some business to attend to and told me to see myself out, but how am I to do this when I can not find the right door?" I was sure that he was lying, but decided not to call him up on it. "Oh, ha, I stumbled upon this in the halls," he said, holding out the necklace. "Thought it had a nice charm to it. I won't lie, I was going to take it...but you may have it since you know who the rightful owner is."

I took the necklace, placing it around my neck for safe keeping. I hoped that nothing had happened to Jordan. He was such a nice man.... He never would have sought out a fight. I deeply wanted to believe what he had said, but knew that something was wrong with this man. Something didn't seem right.

"Thank you. Would you like me to show you the way out? Which way were you headed?" I asked politely.

Vertigo knew that the witch was aware of his intentions, that he was lying, but yet she let him sneak around. How odd. He was suspicious, but kept that believing and charming smile on his lips. Behind that mask, he was plotting and planning, as he usually was. Giving the witch a very pleasent expression, he said kindly,"Yes, please, that'd be great. Ummm...to the fountion, if you wouldn't mind. I have one more person I need to speak to." He hoped that the witch wouldn't see that he needed to talk to the one girl that he needed to break the curse. He didn't know her name, and honestly he couldn't dare. The doppleganger. Vertigo was sure that she was the one, the one needed to break the damned curse. Of course he still needed to find The Moon Stone, a Vampire, and a willing Witch, but there was one thing he had. The book of Old. Yes, it was a secert, and he would never let anyone one else know, but he's had it since the curse was cast. He stole it from the Witch, and ever since he kept it very, very safe, and he would tell no one where it was hidden. Not while he was still breathing. The Book of Old was a facsinating thing, he'd never seen something so...wise. It had wisdom in it's pages, so many intellegent Witches had handled the thing, adding their spells and witchcraft. He would read it occasionally, but he would quickly get an unbearable headche. Vertigo was sure that this was some kind of spell, one that he would have someone break, but it was very odd indeed. What an odd pain. Snapping his attention back to the Witch, he smiled, his ultra-white teeth making an apperance.

Alec's eyes hardened a bit more as he watched Vertigo. Something about the guy seemed off. He was lying through his teeth, that much was certain. If only he could see the werewolf's thoughts. They really need to invent a spell for that. Alec though absentmindedly. It would be quite useful that's for sure. Woman or men could use it to see if their spouse was cheating on them, officials could see if the wrong doer was lying to them. There would be many good things it could be used for but Alec knew that there were equally bad things that most would use it for. Give any witch or warlock a spell that powerful and they would be corrupted. No matter what they think. Alec sighed. Quite bored with the whole situation. Really this had nothing to do with him. It was all between the young witch and werewolf. The witch was the only reason he was still around. You had to protect your own. Alec didn't like the look of the werewolf and so, by duty, had to stick around to make sure no harm came to the witch. It wasn't like Alec had anywhere else to go anyways. Nothing more important to do. The only thing waiting for him at home was more sceming (sp) clientel. And he really wasn't in the mood to deal with any more impossible people. Alec was done with them for the day. Alec's gaze wandered around the laveshly (sp) decorated room. It was fancy for a castle as was to be expected. Eventually his gaze fell back onto the werewolf. Alec couldn't help but feel like there was something important about the seemingly young man that he knew. Something that he just couldn't place. He was a werewolf but there was more to it then that. Much much more. Alec grew a bit frustrated but could not place his finger on what he was trying to place. Alec noticed that the man had noticed his slight change in demour (sp again!). A gleam in his eyes, Alec allowed a small smirk to come onto his lips. Just the sightest life of a corner of his mouth. It may not be a wise idea to infuriate a werewolf any more then he already had but Alec didn't care. He wasn't worried about it if for some reason, it came down to a battle. Alec was armed with not only regular magic, but black magic too. Illegale magic. It may have been banned by the King and Queen but that wasn't about to stop him from learning it. It always gave him an advantage against regular witches and warlocks. With a slight roll of his eyes, Alec turned his gaze to the young woman. She was what interested him. Well the werewolf did too just in a different way. He liked to learn things about people just by studying them. You could learn quite a bit about people without even having to ever meet them. It could definitely be a benifit (sp) for anyone. Alec could clearly see the agitation that was running through Falla. It was pretty obvious. Maybe not for the average eye but for the trained one it was. She was trying to hide it which he comended her for. Some people wouldn't even try. Which wasn't a great idea. Falla may have been a castle witch, but it didn't look like this was the place she wanted to use her magic. It wasn't her ideal job. Alec was slightly relieved when Falla offered to show the werewolf the way out. Finally I can escape. Alec thought with relief. This whole situation is just too awkward for my liking.

A page came up and gave a message to Thomas. "I need to go," he said, "but I'll see you at dinner." He stood, kissed her hand, and left.

I stood up, ready to leave, but found my way blocked by a man and a woman. Who were they?

"Yes, please, that'd be great," said the werewolf. "Ummm...to the fountion, if you wouldn't mind. I have one more person I need to speak to." He smiled, showing his teeth.

"Follow me," I said, exiting the room with one last glance at the warlock.

[time skip]

"Here we are," I said as we exited the castle. We came upon the garden. I lead him to the fountain, finding a human girl. I gave a questioning look at the werewolf as if to say 'what are your dealings with a human girl?' I didn't know if I trusted him.

The girl was very pretty. She had long brown hair and stunningly brown eyes. I thought back to an earlier conversation that I had with Thomas and Brigan....

"The doppleganger, I've found her," Brigan told Thomas.

"The doppleganger?" I asked. Were they trying to break the curse?

They both ignored me, talking amoungst themselves. "She'll be comming here soon," said Brigan, "I've summoned here here."

"Good," said Thomas, "We have the witch, the doppleganger, the stone, and a vampire and werewolf should be easy enough. All we need is the book."

"What witch?" I asked. Were they talking about me? I never agreed to this!

"You, of course," said Thomas, comming to stand beside me. He toyed with my hair, his eyes almost hypnotizing.

"I never agreed to it," I said. Thomas twirled my hair around his finger, setting his body closer to mine.

"Oh, but you would do it, wouldn't you? You would do anything for me."

She was the doppleganger.

Alec watched as Falla lead the werewolf away. He wasn't quite sure that he trusted the two alone. Well it wasn't the witch he didn't trust but the werewolf. He didn't know anything about him. And then it hit him. The werewolf was The Werewolf. The head. The werewolf that had been there when the curse had been created. He was old. Like almost 800 years old. Roughly. Alec was just doing some quick math in his head and was known to be wrong. Math was not his strong subject at all. When he looked up, he realized the two had already left, Alec practically ran down the hall to find them. He was in luck. They hadn't gotten very far...

Alec watched as they entered into the garden. It was really nice. But again, that was to be expected. Alec waited for them to be done talking. He wanted to talk to Falla. About what, he wasn't really sure. Maybe to make sure that she knew the dangers. Alec walked over to a rather interesting bush while the two talked. He shifted from foot to foot, rather impatient.
