"Ok, see you later Tamesis-elder." Opal waved as he led Sonja towards the weaponry. Do you think Sonja and Evangeline will turn out well? He asked Tia as they walked, unsure about what to think about them.
They'll do fine. They come from a farming village, don't they? They'll turn out like Eragon and Saphira. Tia assured him, then realised that she had said the wrong thing. Look, I didn't mean that she would urge Tamesis- Opal cut her off.
Just, don't say anything. He commented before blocking her from his mind. "Tia thinks that you'll do well. You come from.... a similar background to Eragon, and she thinks that you will be like him. You'll be strong." Opal informed Sonja, a little awkwardly.

For a moment, Sonja was confused. I didn't know Eragon came from a farming village, she told Evvy. Neither did I. Learn something new every day, don't we? Sonja grinned at this, then looked at Opal, realizing that he had given her a compliment. "Thank you, but I don't see myself being anything greater than cannon-fodder anytime soon."

Tamesis watched the two students walk ahead, and he turned to Caderyn. Nodding once, they both turned to their right and headed down to the lake. It was both their favourite place. They walked in silence, discussing their training plans within their minds. The crimson hilt of Tamesis's sword glistened in the light streaming from between the trees. Once at the lake, they both sat down in their usual spots. "Caderyn" Tamesis spoke aloud, and the dragon shifted his head slightly to show that he was listening. Tamesis sighed, and ran his hands through his hair. Only with Caderyn would he show his true emotions. "We should watch out for them more than we did for last year's students" he muttered from between his hands which now covered his face. Caderyn let out a low growl in approvement, and rested his head on the ground. Caderyn closed his eyes, thinking of those lost, his thoughts pouring into Tamesis, who felt his mood drop. "Remember...remember when we met?" Came Tamesis's whisper. He gave a dry chuckle. "I was so lost" he whispered. Caderyn moved his head, and nudged Tamesis with his snout affectionatly, humming softly. We are one now Tam, we are together. We shall never be alone, not anymore.

"Hey, Eragon began his training chasing the Ra'zac." Opal shrugged, though secretly he was trying to hide his hatred for the person he had never met. "You'll do fine." Suddenly he said, "What do you want to do after we've defeated Galbatorix?" He looked away, embarressed again. Tia stifled a growl of laughter, though it could be heard through their psychic link. "Shut it, Tia."

Sonja thought on this for a moment, then said, "I honestly don't know. I suppose I'll want to go back to my simple life as a farmer, but it's not like that's going to happen." She laughed, and said, "No, I'll probably end up dead on a battlefield somewhere before we even get close to defeating Galbatorix."

"You won't end up dead, not with what you get taught." Opal laughed slightly, then became deadly serious as he led her into the weaponry. All four walls were covered in all sorts of weapons, and he led her through the door at the back into the sword room. "I plan to go and look for my missing aunt. When I find her, and only when, I will return to my home in the capital of Ellesmera." The dragons had been left outside, and Opal began pulling down swords that might be good for Sonja. "Try those. The sword should be balanced in your hand." He instructed, then settled down to watch her on a stool nearby.

Sonja picked up the first sword, one on medium length, double edged. She grimaced as soon as she lifted it, and hurriedly set it back on the wall where Opal had taken it from. Lifting a second one, this one a bit shorter and thinner, she said to Opal, "I wish I had something as noble as that to do. My parents didn't exactly live long enough to be the subject of some heroic deed." She put that sword back, too, as well as the third one. The next sword was a bit longer than the first, razor-sharp, and felt right as soon as she picked it up. It was a sabre of the finest quality, with a rounded, slightly basket-style hilt, and a plain black leather grip.

Ride Othra? That huge, darkly colored dragon? In the air? Deron stared at the large, blue dragon like a rabbit would, eyes big and betraying all emotion. "I-I c-couldn-n't." He protested, clinging to Adraes's leg as if he felt they might pry him from his dragon. "I-I w-want to st-stay with Adraes!"

The purple dragon snaked his head over to Deron, nearly wrapped as he was around his foreleg, and gave him a stern look. Deron flushed, feeling reprimanded for acting so childishly. "B-But..." He began to start up another protest. Adraes silenced it quickly with a nudge to his Rider's shoulder along with sent feelings of mixed comfort and pride at the prospect of Deron riding their mentor bravely. The boy gave in with a sniffle and bowed his head. "Okay, A-Adraes. I-I will r-ride w-with Master."
