Once Storm met Jinx's eyes he knew he had to stay back. He stayed perched on his flimsy limb, silent, and avoiding eye-contact.

When Athena was beat by Fang to Hiro she quickly went back to fighting more erasers, getting new Wounds in the process, but that didn't matter to heer right then.

Hiro sighed as his muscles finally relaxed, his face becoming an emotionless void, and his eyes, which were normally light gray, turned almost black. He nuzzled Jinx's hair softly while still keeping up his guard for the Eraser below them. The wind around him intensified, his heart aching at the sound of Jinx sobbing. He'd only seen her cry once before, and that was in the cave when he'd discovered his odd power. His hair whipped back and forth wildly, along with Jinx's. "Stop it," he said rather clearly. He would've wrapped an arm around her, if moving his only usable one didn't make it feel like it was being ripped from it's socket at the slightest twitch.

The winds had long since stopped bothering me as all other senses seemed to be drowned out by my raging emotions. When Hiro's voice ran out over everything else, I looked at him with a slightly confused expression. I knew I couldn't prolong this because Athena was on her own with Erasers, but I just had to stay a bit longer for him. "Stop what?"

"Crying..." he muttered, looking into her eyes, full of emotion with his hollow orbs. He was so out of it that he couldn't even form a complete sentences, just short phrases and monosyllables. He hated having to feel like this, he hated having to even do this stuff, but he knew that if he cherished his life, he'd hide from the School. A painful shiver ran down his spine at the mere thought of the disgusting, vile place.

"I'm sorry, I just can't help it. I've failed in the worst way possible. I...I couldn't protect you." After today, I didn't plan on wearing my heart on my sleeve as I had been for the past few days. It just wasn't something I did and I wasn't a fan of being so far out of character. For now though, I didn't care. The tears that flowed down my cheeks burned hot and I could to nothing to quell the liquid lava as it fell. All in all, I felt absolutely horrible.

Storm saw as Jinx had the look of failure on her face. "Go help the flock. I'll stay with him." Storm interjected seeing Athena fighting alone. He knew that she could save Athena, and Hiro would need to take time to heal.

Athena was getting weak from fending off all the Erasers. But she knew she couldn't stop or she would pay for it.

Knowing that I needed to help Athena, I motioned for Storm to come stand on the branch I was on. There were a few things I needed to say to him before I even dared to let him hold Hiro in his current state.

Storm hopped up to her limb. He looked at the boy then back to Jinx, awaiting her approval.

Athena continued to fight feeling each hit from the Erasers now. She let out a small squeak as one hit her on the back of her head. She knew that one would give her a major headache later. She whipped around and slammed her foot into it's chest braking some ribs.

Hiro shook his head, feeling useless without the use of his arms. He leaned his head back, watching Athena battling the Erasers. He looked back at Jinx, "Sic 'em, Fang." He smirked, laughing a bit at his own joke. If possible, he would probably stay in this tree until the others were finished with the Erasers. God, he felt so useless! If he was stronger, none of that would've happened. If he was stronger, he could still use his arms. If he was stronger, they'd never have to fight the School again.
