Kanji smiled at the energy of her two new companions. People like them were rare these days, especially around her. People tended to be more withdrawn and somber around her now, almost as if in deference to her condition. She of course hated every minute of it, but that didn't stop them. These two barely seemed to notice her condition, which she found rather refreshing. Still smiling, she turned in the direction of Thrush's voice and started walking.

She looked around and saw a group of people, she pondered close to them, her thick light grey fur shinning slightly.

The group of three continued south. As they did, Bodean looked at his surroundings, trying to take it all in. Though he had explored most of Skyrim, he tended to stay away from Markarth. It was a beautiful city, yes, but there was something about it that he didn't like. "So how far away is it?" Bodean asked.

" It shouldn't be too far now," Kanji said. There was a feeling of mass in front of her that she usually got when they were close to mountains. She couldn't explain it, it was like the air was denser almost. "Before we get there, there's something I should-"
She stopped speaking suddenly, as she registered the presence of yet another pair of footsteps. They were bipedal, but they sounded heavier as though the person was walking hunched over. It almost sounded like a Khajiit's soft padding steps, but heavier. "I think we have company," She said, activating her blade. "I'd arm yourselves, I don't know what it is, but it's not Any friendly race."

Bodean drew out his Nordic swords. He had a feeling they would probably need to battle the stranger, but he couldn't help but think of what Kanji was about to say. He also really wanted to get to their destination.
