|Mirabelle Everhart|17|She/Her|Aphrodite|Head Counselor|Location: Cabin 11|Tags: Aggy, Juliet|

Mirabelle's arms crossed over her chest served both as a standoffish appearance as well as an act of self-soothing. "Maybe don't scare the crap out of new campers on the first day, Jewel?" she remarked, attempting to sound snarky. It was rather difficult seeing as her voice was at least an octave higher than she'd have liked.
Her heart nearly stopped in her chest when she realised she'd slipped up. Oh gods, Mirabelle, seriously! she internally scolded herself. Using a nickname like that in front of someone... She was just glad that Aggy was new. Any of the more experienced campers probably would've known something was up. Besides, the amount of tension between the two older girls was nearly tangible. Mirabelle was glad that she was the only daughter of Aphrodite in the room. Hopefully, she realised, remembering that Aggy had not yet been claimed. She secretly hoped the younger girl had no emotion-sensing capabilities... or that she was remarkably unperceptive.

|Juliet Pratten|16|She/Her|Hermes|Location: Cabin 11|Tags: Aggy, Mirabelle |
Juliet mock-pouted, but refrained from commenting as she turned her attention to Aggy. "Hey now, I was just being friendly!" she grinned, throwing up her hands in an innocent gesture. In actuality, it had been her intent to poke a little fun - and the result amused her to no end. Man, I love it when they get all cranky! she relished. "Nice to meetcha, Aggs," she replied, intentionally messing up the new girl's name. "I'm Juliet - or, if you ask Mira, apparently, Jewel." Her eyes sparkled with mischief as Mirabelle's face grew beet-red. She instantly regretted it, however, when she caught the betrayed look in Mira's blue-grey eyes. A little too close, she quickly realised. She shot Mira a silent apologetic look, but kept the remainder of her attention on Aggy. "Feisty one, aren'tcha?" she quipped. "Mira, you should really see about getting this kid to the arena. Looks like she's got a lot of pent-up rage." Juliet grinned, hoping to elicit another angry response from the younger girl.

"Uh, yeah," Chuck started, shuffling his hooves. "Like, the camp schedule and stuff changes every day! Other than like, meals and cabin inspection." He scratched his neck nervously. "And ancient Greek lessons. Like, the Athena cabin usually teaches those, but like, sometimes Head Counselors or older campers'll do it." He tugged on his goatee as he thought further on the camp schedule. "There are like... different activities each day, but you always get free time before dinner, and then, like, after nighttime stuff, a singalong led by the Apollo cabin." He hoped he was doing a better job at explaining than he had the year previous. The amount of confused demigods wandering around had been almost hazardous.

Skylar Kakitid, 16 years old, Female, Daughter of Hecate, 7 year camper, Location: Entrance of Cabin 20, Tags: Samuel

Skylar looked startled now. How dare he? She felt annoyed by his comment and silently twirled a strand of magic. But she calmed herself down and smiled playfully. "Ahh come on. Lighten up! No one's getting hurt, and they can't be babied their whole life!" If only he would see all the adoring fans she got. They came around for a while last year and the year before just to see her cool tricks. Maybe she could gather the same adoring fans this year... "Plus, they like a little mischief in their life. You go tell them life is perfect, ha, they will never be ready for the Hermes Cabin. They are waaaay worse than me. Go boss them around. Grump." She smiled with a twinkle in her eyes. "Oh Hero of First Years."

Agatha "Aggy" Clemson|Female|Unknown (Ares)|Location: Cabin 11|tags: Mirabelle, Juliet
Ah, she doesn't like this one either. Aggy thought noticing Mirabelle's stilted treatment of the girl.
Aggy's glare held as she watched Juliet's every move, taking note of how she glanced back at Mirabelle, as if for reassurance.
Aggs, really? Two can play at that game.
"Oh, I'd love to see the arena, Jewelweed," Aggy's anger softed at the mention of her already favorite place. "But I think a better introduction would be you showing me how it's used." She couldn't help it, she was beaming. It sure has taken long enough to get someone to fight. She thought to herself, looking for all the world like she had licked the cream off the milk.
"Before we get started, where do I put these bags?" She asked, blushing a little as she noticed that Mira still held her red suitcase. She knew the girl was strong, but she also knew her mom had insisted on packing for every possibility.

(switching up the order just for now bc it makes more sense for this post c:)
|Juliet Pratten|16|She/Her|Hermes|Location: Cabin 11|Tags: Aggy, Mirabelle |

"Jewelweed?" Juliet snorted. She couldn't help but laugh - that was one she hadn't heard before. More tolerable than some of the nicknames her cabinmates had come up with. 'Drooliet' got old pretty fast. Letting that slide for the time being, the wiry girl gestured around her at the relatively unkempt cabin. "Honestly, you can just throw your stuff anywhere," she shrugged. "We're not exactly the neatest. Though there should be a few empty beds around here somewhere..." Juliet scratched her head, glancing around at the piles of prank supplies and random suitcases on the ground. The toilet paper decorations she'd been working on caught her eye. She couldn't help but think that the they really added to the chaotic atmosphere of the cabin. "Anyways," she continued. "Pro tip - if you don't want anything rifled through or stolen, you might wanna find a good hiding place. Or just intimidate everyone away from your stuff." The daughter of Hermes smirked, casually resting a hand on her hip. "I usually just steal my stuff back if it gets taken, but hey, we can't all be master thieves, can we?" she chuckled. "After you get settled, if you're lookin' to spar, I'd be down. Don't know if pretty girl here could take the heat from a little fireball like you." Her hazel eyes glittered with mischief. She knew full well that Mirabelle could hold her own in a fight, but poking fun at her former comerade was too enticing to pass up.

|Mirabelle Everhart|17|She/Her|Aphrodite|Head Counselor|Location: Cabin 11|Tags: Aggy, Juliet|

Mirabelle shifted impatiently as Juliet took her time answering Aggy's questions. While she absently listened to the conversation, she sifted through her brain to try to find an excuse to leave, given her rather... complicated history with the daughter of Hermes. She twirled a strand of long, golden hair around a well-manicured finger, worrying the inside of her cheek. Though she didn't exactly wish that they could go back to what they once were, it would've been nice to at least be moderately comfortable around Juliet again. Maybe we can talk about it? she reckoned. Somewhere no one can overhear, of course...
A snide comment from the other blonde pulled Mirabelle out of her thoughts. "Wha - I -" she stammered, trying desperately not to show how flustered she had quickly become. She was aware that Juliet was simply teasing, but it was still an affront to her pride. "You know perfectly well that I can hold my own in combat," she huffed. Despite what others may think. She had sparred against Juliet many times in the past. Though the Hermes camper was tricky and slippery, she'd managed to beat her numerous times on the battlefield. "Let's just get Aggy situated first." Mirabelle mentally sorted through the mess of Cabin 11 and quickly found a bed that looked unused. Her perceptive talents really came in handy during situations like this. She gestured over to the bed, nodding towards Aggy to show her where to go.

Kade Turner | Athena | Tagging: Hank, Karter, Chuck, Pippa | Location: Camp, Half-Blood Hill

"Of course, apologies." Kade took a step back when the young woman held up her hands as if in a placating gesture. He didn’t know what exactly went on in her mind, but he had been there five years, so this was most certainly not the first time he had seen a look of stress and confusion on the face of a newcomer. He figured it would be best to give her a bit of space while she processed what was going on around her. Hank and Chuck were bantering and chattering, which he couldn’t blame them for, but it added to the overwhelm. Karter was standing a few inches away, looking vaguely annoyed for some reason, but it only showed in the slight tension of his jaw and the way his eyes focused instead of shifting, which Kade had come to learn was unusual for him.

"Empousa, huh?" Kade took a deep breath and slowly let it go. Given that Pippa was female, she was at far less risk than male demigods with Empousa, but even so, nasty ones they were. He glanced briefly at Chuck as the satyr tried to explain, and a small, fond smile came to his face. If nothing else, he found the satyr's awkward manner almost... endearing.

"Pleasure to meet you too," Kade said in acknowledgement. It must all be terribly confusing, so it was his hope that a friendly enough approach would come off well.

Karter Zael | Hades | Tagging: Pippa, Kade, Hank, Chuck | Location: Camp, Half-Blood Hill

As the two boys came to join them, Karter's ignored outstretched hand fell to his side again. That was okay, if not vaguely annoying. He couldn’t blame Pippa, with so much going on, and so remained silent, not trusting himself to speak for fear he would snap at... SOMEONE. He most CERTAINLY understood the stress of many people being around right off the bat.

When all of a sudden, there were five of them instead of the three, which had been awkward enough, Karter felt his chest constricting with anxiety and apprehension, but just clenched his jaw, the motion barely visible, and focused his gaze on a tree beyond them to try and focus on literally anything except the sudden crowdedness.

Placated by being called the fireball she was, Aggy was only too happy to chatter with the dirty blonde. "Don't fret, no one's gonna touch my stuff!" Aggy said to the rascally girl, puffing out her chest with all the confidence of one who had never met a child of Hermes. Aggy plunked her bag down on the cot, inwardly grateful it wasn't a bunk, but still a touch apprehensive about the well used appearance of the place.
"Why don't we battle three-on-three-everyone-for-herself then?" Aggy asked, eyes alight at the idea, even though she had yet to get a weapon.

Ophelia Rogers|Female|Aphrodite|Location: Cabins ---> Half-Blood Hill/gate|tags: Emerson
Ophelia left the cabin, trying not to run to start running toward the gate as she realized that most the new blood had already arrived, -drat it!- and wouldn't be prime for making an impression on.
Instead she strode gracefully, still covering the ground quite quickly. She had to force herself not to check on her third eye as she walked, knowing searching fingers would only claw through her morning's work.
She stood by the gate, looking out for prey. Something moved from far off, and she held a hand over her eyes, trying to make the form out.
A lone camper approached, carrying several bags and was that a cat carrier?
She grinned, and waved wildly, but saved her breath until they were in hearing range.
They reached the gate, but didn't seem to see her yet, instead looking longingly at the already gathered campers. Ophelia felt a pang of empathy, as she too had once been in this position, and stepped forward, calling out "Hello! First timer?" With a kindly smile, the third eye she had painted on to gain fear slipping her mind....

|Mirabelle Everhart|17|She/Her|Aphrodite|Head Counselor|Location: Cabin 11|Tags: Aggy, Juliet|

Mirabelle carefully placed Aggy's red suitcase beside her other belongings. At the mention of a threeway spar, her heart sank. She frantically searched her brain for an excuse.
"I would, but I should really..." she trailed off as Juliet shot her a pleading look. Even after all that had happened between them, she just couldn't say no to those pretty hazel eyes. "...oh, fine. I'll go get my armour." The Aphrodite counselor stepped out momentarily, making quick work of the short walk between cabins 11 and 10. Maybe this is a good thing, she mused, trying to stay positive. Getting the chance to knock some sense into Juliet's head might be nice.
Once inside the Aphrodite cabin, Mirabelle changed her clothes, using her abilities to do so - it was faster than doing it manually. She switched her dangly earrings out for red rose-shaped studs, and her dress for an altered Camp Half-Blood t-shirt and a pair of embroidered jeans. She reckoned that she could just fix the clothes later using her demigod powers if they got torn. After she had exchanged her ankle boots for sneakers, she grabbed her armour, which was in a dark red duffel bag near the top of the chest where she kept her belongings. She preferred to keep her armour easily accessible, just in case something were to happen. With that done, she quickly pulled back her hair to keep it from getting in her face while fighting. She would have braided the side for a nicer look if she wasn't in a bit of a hurry.
When she'd finished, Mirabelle reluctantly headed back to Cabin 11 to meet up with Aggy and Juliet.

|Juliet Pratten|16|She/Her|Hermes|Location: Cabin 11|Tags: Aggy, Mirabelle |

"A free-for-all?" Juliet grinned. "Sounds great! Lemme just grab my gear and I'll be good to go." The wiry camper knelt down and dragged a small army green duffel out from under her bed. "Training swords or real weapons?" she asked, pulling the duffel over her shoulder. "Regardless, might wanna grab you some armour from the armoury. There should be some stuff in your size lying around." The daughter of Hermes straightened up, not even bothering to dust off her legs. "If we're going real weapons, I would also grab some ambrosia or something, but Mira's usually got some in her bag," she added as an afterthought. "Just in case we actually hurt each other."

Aggy knew her mother would've never agreed to Camp Half-Blood if she'd known there were real weapons involved. But the thought just exhilarated Aggy.
"Are there like, legal ramifications if I hurt someone?" She asked, though she had a good idea of the answer. "Take me to this armoury!" She said, more as a demand than a request.
"Please?" She added as an afterthought, giving Juliet her very best puppy eyes. Though they probably would''ve been more effective if she'd hadn't been threatening the blonde a moment before.

|Juliet Pratten|16|She/Her|Hermes|Location: Walking to Armoury|Tags: Aggy, Mirabelle |

"Sure thing, kid," Juliet chuckled, pulling open the cabin door. The airhorn sounded again, nearly making her jump - she retained her cool collected composure, however. She had almost completely forgotten that she'd rigged the door. shaking her head at her own silliness, the daughter of Hermes headed outside. "To answer your question, most wounds are easily fixed up with some nectar and ambrosia," she continued, pointedly ignoring the exasperated look Mira was giving her. Probably got started by the airhorn again, she reckoned, though not without a pang of guilt. Turning her attention back to Aggy, she continued as she led the way to the armoury. "If you kill someone... well, there are consequences. Maybe not legally - demigods are, hmm, how should I say this..." she scratched her head, trying to figure out the best way to word what she wanted to say without scaring the newbie. "...let's just say we're no strangers to death." Juliet unwittingly glanced back at Mirabelle before returning her gaze to Aggy. "I wouldn't worry though; camp is pretty safe, unless you go into the woods alone."

|Mirabelle Everhart|17|She/Her|Aphrodite|Head Counselor|Location: Walking to Armoury|Tags: Aggy, Juliet|

Unlike Juliet, Mirabelle actually did jump when the airhorn went off for the second time that day. Panic rose in her chest, but she did her best to choke it down. Just think about how much fun it'll be to wipe the smug smirk off of Jewel's face. She took a deep breath, hoping to calm her frazzled nerves. When the daughter of Hermes emerged from the cabin, she shot her a pointed look. Of course, Juliet simply ignored it. She followed behind as the shorter girl blathered on, remaining oddly quiet.

p.d 5 - camp entrance

Postby senna_ » Wed Dec 02, 2020 12:28 pm

━ pippa diggery aphrodite tags: chuck, karter, hank, kade

A rather amused smirk settled on Pippa's lips at Hank's dry enthusiasm, and she took a step closer to tap her palm against his own. Stepping back into her personal bubble, she raised her forearms and shook her wrists, hands balled into loose fists as if to silently celebrate along with his vocals. "Yay for not dying," she agreed eagerly, her voice quivering ever-so-slightly as she attempted to swallow back a chuckle. She allowed her contentedness to settle down once more as they began talking gibberish once more, most of what their chosen words flying right over her head. At this rate, Pippa didn't even attempt to reach up and grab them. They'd whisk back into her brain when the time was right.

Kade had acknowledged her curiosity on the empousas, and Hank, the ambrosia, which was nice, but their answers were rather vague, and it only left Pippa quizzing even more. The ambrosia made more sense to her than the other, but Pippa wasn't going to question a hundred more things. So she did what she could to push the unfamiliar words aside and focus on whatever else they were explaining. Chuck's voice overpowered the rest, so she focused mainly on him. "So like a very complex schooling system," she mused, not really looking for a definitive answer. "That seems cool. Do we ever meet the Gods and Goddesses? More than the symbol or whatever that we received earlier on?" She crinkled her nose, unimpressed with her overpowering desire for answers, then shook her head yet again. "I'd just like to find where I can put my bags, if one of you don't mind."
