-----everyone seemed willing to throw drew up and under the bus, directing clark to him for the answer to his question. he nodded at drew when he said the approximate time, looking down at the floor as he did so. and then, a smile dawned upon him and he flashed an amused grin. "so uhh... guys, did you like what you saw?" his left eyebrow arched challengingly, corner of his mouth lifted in a crooked grin, leaning towards them as if he were flirting. all in meer joking manner of course; me let out a series of laughs, the kind that took your breath away and after a while, no sound came out. he swung his legs around and leapt off the windowsill, wiping with his wrist the drool off the corner of his mouth. another laugh.
-----adjusting his winter cloak and scarf that bore the traditional black and yellow hufflepuff colors, he straightened his stance and looked at wesley. "do you even have to ask? i'm always hungry." looking at the two gryffindors, clark felt obligated to invite them to join he and wes for breakfast, whether his roommate agreed to it or not. he couldn't see why he wouldn't though. wesley was just as friendly and naeutral about the house wars as he was. "drew, george, if you don't join us i'm going to have to take that as an insult." clark grinned ear to ear and began to make his way down the rest of the staircase and to the grand hall. everyone it seemed had already arrived and was clearly well into their meal. it touched his heart a bit that wes, george, and drew had chosen to watch him sleep over devour themselves into this goodness. pancakes, eggs, hashbrows, you name it it was here and calling clark's name.

tori had trouble getting out of bed that morning. she had to roll around in her bed for nearly 20 minutes after being woken up from rustling outside the room. last night was a blurr, she was up late last night, doing nonsense. it was a very fun night, no doubt-but the day after wasn't. she was exhausted and needed to sleep more. of course, there was too much noise going on from downstairs so she decided to get up.
unlike the others, standing around chatting, tori just wanted peace and quiet so she headed down the grand stairs to the great hall. the great hall was basiclly her number one destination in the morning. always get up, eat something light and go outside. it was a good plan for the day. she headed in, observing that there were already a number of kids there eating away. the syltherin sat at her usual spot; three quarters away from the end.

sorry for a late start. jake's open for interaction if anyone wants to chat!
xxxxxxxaoife connorx★ xRAVENCLAWxxxxxxxxxaoife wakes as exhausted as she was when she went to sleep. being in her sixth year is a nightmare - the teachers are really piling on the homework, and no good ravenclaw would ever dream of doing a halfhearted job on any assignment, or get any less than a perfect score. but at the same time, aoife loves the pressure. this kind of schooling is what she's lived for all her life, and now she's finally discovering her full potential. obviously, she has no potential for transfiguration with her horrible mark of exceeds expectations, but you can't be good at everything. aoife rolls out of bed and begins to dress. no one's in the room. she's the last one in there. it's normal for aoife to sleep in, though; so no one will be worried.
xxxxxxxafter dressing in her favorite t-shirt and typical jeans under the school robe she's forced to wear, aoife heads down to the great hall for breakfast. the school food is so much better than the stuff at home her mother tries to make. aoife swears she gains weight during the school year. but better not to let that worry her - aoife's always had self-confidence like no other. her ego, even she admits, is rather large. absentmindedly aoife goes for the bacon at the ravenclaw table, ignoring her collegues seated there and shoving bacon into her mouth. honestly, she doesn't care much how odd it looks. juggling some charm notes, she heads outside to find a spot to study. although it's foggy, aoife doesn't mind. she enjoys this concealing mist - until she almost walks straight into sophie, her best friends. "sorry, soph. didn't see you there," aoife says with a grin. sophie's carrying a book, too; though unlike aoife's untidy charms notes, it's actually in a binding. aoife bends over to try and catch a glimpse of the title but gives up almost instantly. it's too early for these sheningans.
xxxxxxxsticking her last piece of bacon in her mouth, aoife chews quickly and swallows. she shuffles her untidy charms notes as she does so, catching one piece of paper in mid-fall. well, you didn't have to be coordinated to be smart. thank god for that. "you planning on studying today?" she asks, indicating the book with a nod of her chin. it would be nice to have sophie to help her study; nobody was ever hurt by a little review of charms and two heads were better than one. "or is that recreational reading?"

xxxxxxxjake craytonx★ xSLYTHERINxxxxxxxxxjake has never risen with the sun. it's not his thing. why get up early, on a saturday of all days, when yoou can catcha few more z's? his roommates all get up and leave the room, but not jake. he's kind of just... lying there. finally, when the dorm room is empty, jake deigns to rise. he's exhausted. jake had always been an insomniac, and while he might look like he's sleeping , more often than not he's lying wide awake with a racing mind. last night was no exception. he'd gotten, what, three hours of sleep? not too bad. he's functioned on less. and besides, it is a weekend. deciding to forgo his homework for now, he headed out of the dorm into the slytherin common room, where he essentially collapses on an armchair. the common room is deserted save for a few snide-looking first years. they keep glancing over at jake like he is about to eat them, then quickly looking away. jake rolls his eyes to heaven. he knows he looks terrible. he doesn't need any first years to tell him that.
xxxxxxxgiving the first years an annoyed look, jake sits and stares at the flames in the fireplace. they are dancing merrily, rather in contrast to their sickly emerald color and the general dullness of the common room. thank makes jake remember that one camping trip he and his dad took... mmm. sausage. great, now all he can think about is sausage. he debates the pros and cons of heading out to the great hall for breakfast, and eventually breakfast wins. with a groan jake pushes himself out of the comfortable armchair and heads over to the door. it is currently being blocked by the same first years who'd stared at him before. they silently part to let him through, making jake feel rather accomplished. it is kind of nice not to be just another face in the crowd.
xxxxxxxjake exits the common room and climbed the staircase that would bring him up to the first floor of the castle. hogwarts castle has always confused him. even now he feels as if he's just beginning to uncover the castle's secrets, although he's now in his final year. jake is the guy that always forgets the trick step or the hidden passage. but still, the magical aura of the stone walls fascinates him. now he walks through the hallways quickly, heading for the scent of sausage drifting from somewhere before him. the sound of conversation reaches his ears, and soon he's in the great hall. he does his daily thing where he glances up to check the weather. honestly, it looks nasty today. jake isn't going outside until the sun comes out. turning, he heads for the slytherin table. there are a few people his age further down, but he'd rather be alone for this morning, when he's exhausted.

➥ rooney fallonTHE IMPERFECT SLYTHERIN !
ROONEYnothing about the text rooney's eyes were breezing over was particularly interesting. the poor girl didn't realize for quite some time that she'd been re-reading the same sentence over and over again as she listened for a murmur of a familiar voice or the sound of approaching footsteps signaling another's arrival. shaking her head in disgust, rooney once again focused on the text only to realize that potion making wasn't her cup of tea. that was for sure. so why was she wasting her time on the terrible subject? her saving grace came when the sound if annie's voice rang out from behind her. despite her startled appearance, though, roo was glad annie appeared - even if it was from out of the blue. shutting the heavy book with a muted thump!, the blonde blonde turned to face her dark-haired friend.
ROONEY"good morning to you, too," she chuckled, nudging annie affectionately with her shoulder. "how'd you sleep?"
ROONEYbefore her friend could answer, though, a lean figure slid onto the bench across from the pair. darragh looked like he'd been awake for hours; but, then again, he always seemed to be quite the morning person. rooney nodded, flashing him a small smile as a welcoming and encouraging gesture. "i don't see why not. i was just asking annie how she slept - lord knows i slept like a rock. i'm so glad it's finally the weekend."
ROONEYbut, again, before either of the two had a chance to speak, another body found its way to the blonde at the slytherin table. this time, though, it was the bubbly gryffindor, alexis. instantly roo stiffened. she liked alexis well enough - they got along easily, and she seemed like a very sunny person. but add in a couple of slytherins and an age-old blood feud between the two houses, and it became a recipe for disaster. rooney wasn't quite sure what to do. she wasn't going to simply brush off alexis - no matter how uncomfortable she felt, she wasn't going to be rude. but taking another quick glance toward analeigh and darragh, she felt a pit forming in her stomach. roo set the feelings aside, though, turning toward the brunette gryffindor with a small, friendly smile.
ROONEY"i don't think i'll ever get used to the cold. the chill goes right through me. i probably should have worn something warmer," she chuckled darkly, motioning to her already thick sweater. "i know i'll probably be staying inside all day. it's too bad. i wanted to go down to the lake later."
ROONEYafter she spoke, rooney realized how many people were now drifting into the great hall. it seemed like only minutes ago she'd wandered in herself, the room barely occupying 30 or so students; now the hall was bustling with activity. roo barely noticed when two more additions were made to the slytherin table. she'd sent a small wave of greeting to both sarah and kacer as they appeared; she was more preoccupied with pouring herself a cup of piping hot camomile tea to give each a formal greeting. rooney brought the hot mug to her lips, the drink warming her chilled bones and making a shiver shoot down her spine. once more she turned to look at the half-eaten peach she held in her left palm, taking a bite. the sudden appearance of all these people was a bit overwhelming for the blonde-haired, blue-eyed girl. she slyly adjusted her glasses, pinching the bridge of her nose as she did so. today was going to be a long day.
TAGGED ; analeigh, darragh, alexis, sarah, kacer.
( again, sorry for the crap post. i tried to fit everybody in! i'll give rooney more of a personality when i get back on a computer. forgive me if there are typos! )

- - - - - -it was cold and foggy outside, especially by the lake, but sophie found that her eyes adjusted quickly to the misty surroundings and she could see a couple of metres in all directions. she was seated against a small rock collection, one of many scattered along the lake's banks, and although she wore a zip-up hoody she could feel her arms decorated with goose bumps. the wind brushed across her cheeks but she payed it no attention as she continued to read, content. the girl was sure the only thing that could improve her reading session was music; wishful thinking she knew as muggle technology didn't work in the wizarding world, which she had learnt the hard way. she still resented, slightly, her brother for not telling her that fact and she was still grateful that her parents were understand enough to buy her a new ipod when she returned for the summer holidays.
- - - - - -the lapping of the lake on the shingle shore was relaxing enough and soon she had finished her toast - she had thrown two pieces into the lake and watched as a tentacle took them beneath the water - and was completely immersed in her book again.
- - - - - -however it was not long after she finished her toast that she heard footsteps approaching and as she looked up she saw her close friend, aiofe, approaching. the ginger girl hadn't seen her though and she almost started to move away so she wouldn't be hit, when aiofe saw her. "sorry soph, didn't see you there." sophie returns her best friend's grin and raises her eyebrows slightly at the stack of papers in her hands. apparently then it isn't too early to start studying. she thought dryly, deciding not to comment on the obvious ravenclaw apparent in her friend. "morning, i saw you slept well." she teased gently, falling into the daily pattern of interacting with aiofe, her best friend.
- - - - - -at the other girl's question she shrugs, folding down the page and closing the book - knowing she probably won't be able to get back to it until that evening. "it's recreational; i wasn't really thinking about doing anything much this early but if you are, i might as well join you." sophie had never been one for studying or doing a lot of homework during the four years she attended muggle school for - which she only attended upon her mother's insistence - and most of the time she hadn't needed to revise; it had just come easily for her. when she came to hogwarts and was sorted into ravenclaw it was a complete surprise. everyone else in her family had been a gryffindor and she had expected the same. even in her sixth year it wasn't completely apparent to her why she wore blue and bronze. sure she was clever, witty and academic but not exactly motivated, and she would much rather sneak down to the kitchens or try and kick mrs norris then stay up late studying.
- - - - - -that said, sophie knew most would consider her to be perfect ravenclaw material. she had taken eleven o.w.l.s - one more than the standard amount -, receiving ten o's and one ee. and she was continuing on with ten subjects for her n.e.w.t.s. to be honest sophie wasn't sure why she was taking so many but she also felt as if by not doing them, and therefore basically foregoing all ravenclaw tradition, she'd be rejected slightly by her house members. these thoughts were the things she kept to herself and would never tell anybody, not even george. "all of my notes are in the tower though. what are you looking at?" she asked, patting the space next to her to invite aiofe to sit. {{ sorry about the fluff }}

- - - - - -george rolled his eyes at the hufflepuff's words, glad though that he was making fun of the situation. "nahh, i prefer my boys... prettier." he replied smoothly, used to having to come back with a quick response. it helped, living with a ravenclaw; sophie kept george on his toes. the boy breathed a small sigh of relief though when clark invited - more like ordered - he and drew to join the sixth year boys for breakfast.
- - - - - -it meant the awkward situation of asking to sit with them was averted and he laughed, answering with a simple "well, i for one wouldn't want to offend you." and went to follow the black haired boy who was already on his way towards the great hall, before stopping and grabbing onto wes' robes, dragging him along behind them.
- - - - - -when they were all seated at the hufflepuff table, george filled his goblet with pumpkin juice and poured himself a bowel of cereal, eyes scanning the roof quickly to see if the weather had improved; it hadn't. "so, you guys looking forward to the disapparating classes?" whilst the dates hadn't actually been announced yet, they all knew that disapparating took place in sixth year; george himself had taken them last year and passed, on his third test. but wesley and clark were both sixth years so they had yet to take them.

ANALEIGHannie smiled, "i slept okay, you?" she asked her best friend, then looking down at the book she was reading. it was one of the books that they had to read for potion making, she still had to get to that. but before rooney could answer, darragh, one of the slytherins joined their table, "good morning." she greeted him. it had seemed like rooney became the people magnet, others started to surround the two girls like bees.
ANALEIGHthe next who joined was a gryffindor girl, something she didn't exactly expect, because all the other houses usually excluded the slytherins because of their house history. eventhough annie was quite startled by alex's decision to come here, she still greeted her politely, "um, good morning. alex, is it?" she asked trying to remember the girl's name. she could remember that the first year of alex's hogwarts journey, the were actually friends. what happened to that? she thought. now it's been seven years, for her at least. sarah and kacer came along after that, both sitting next to darragh, seeing to the spots on rooney's side were occupated.
ANALEIGHwhen rooney made the comment about it being colder, she had realized it was quite chilly and she was wearing only light sweater, herself. "i have lighter clothing than you, how do you think i feel." she said with a smile, "and we should totally all go to the lake. it's nice there."

Wesley chuckled, "Don't we always?" he asked Clark, not expecting an answer. Then asking him about breakfast, the answer came immediately, he had to admit, and he didn't even need to ask. Who wasn't always up to food, especially him and Clark. He wondered if the first years already ate all the pancakes and waffles. It's what usually happens, it annoys Wesley. But then again, the table always fills back up. Suddenly he felt a slight tug on his robe, his head turning to see everyone already racing down the staircase as if they were five year old. Who could say no to food galore, he already smelt the scent of the freshly made pancakes and brownies.
Once at the table, George had brought up the disapparating classes they would take this year, he had already took it though, since he was a year older than both of the Hufflepuffs. With a piece of pancake stuffed in his mouth and pouring himself some orange juice, his shoulders raised. After he finished chewing he replied, "I guess we have to, right? Was it good?" the question rang. apparation was supposed to be cool, if you get a hang of it, apparating into some pit of despair wouldn't be really pleasant. He looked at Clark, he seemed to be into his breakfast, not even listening anymore. Staying up all night long gets you hungry, Wes though.

instead of feeling uncomfortable around all of these slytherins...alex was rather comfortable. maybe because her father was originally from slytherin helped her cope with their personalities and activities. to tell the truth, the slytherins seemed to welcome her more lately than usual, and anyway, her own house seemed to turn against her sometimes. she felt has if she was the outsider of Gryffindor, since everyone, like the guys, always avoided her. sure, maybe alex was fun. boo hoo! she wasn't a hufflepuff, nor a ravenclaw, for that matter. she didn't have to always pretend to be someone else to fit into a group. she felt as if she could be herself around the slytherins, rather than her own house.
but she understood how rooney felt, as alex sensed her friend tense as she slipped down beside her. the other slytherins here...of course. alexis understood the past between the two houses, but why does that have to effect alex's friendships with these people? stifling a sigh, alex set down her defense against the dark arts book and glanced at rooney's sweater in which she was referring to. a light-hearted chuckle escaped her mouth and glanced down at her white blouse and black yoga pants. she had quickly slipped on a caramel brown sweater that was so soft it felt like she was touching a kitten. "definitely seems like you're all set. I'm guessing if you walked down the hall you'd be sweating just from that, but you can never be too prepared," she joked. as annie spoke of her thin sweater, alex looked down at her half-eaten muffin.
sure, annie was nice. but when alexis first started at Hogwarts, they seemed to be the best of friends. but then they drifted apart, leaving them to be only friendly to each other. maybe it was because of their age, or maybe because annie started to become best friends with rooney instead and ditched her. pushing back her shoulders, alex decided it would be time to repair their friendship, because of course rooney and alex were friends as well. she had to show these people that she wasn't obnoxious as they might think, or even like any of the other gryiffindors. sure, she held their traits, but the Gryffindor house didn't seem that welcoming. alex wanted to be friends with people who knew how to have fun and didn't dislike her own self for knowing how to.
"yeah, we should totally go to the lake! who knows, maybe there's something there we would want to see," she suggested. it was the best thing she should say at the moment, to be honest. alex twirled her hair around her finger absently for a second as she stared at her book. realizing she was doing it, alex looked up a abandoned her muffin in the trash beside the table. who knows what could happen.
