Vera did not make a sound, only a slight whimper escaping from her lips, the fox crying out pitifully, before whimpering. Her hand grasped Zack's as tears silently came down from her eyes, sliding down the contours of her face. That hurt.

Professor shrugged. "It's fixed. Let's get back," he said.
Zack sighed. The Professor could be harsh and gentle. How on earth did my mother understand him? he often wondered.
