"There isn't anything you can do about it... I just need to get to my room, change, and fall asleep so I can ogle at him all day tomorrow, and make myself look stupid because he has that effect on me." Ella sighed in slight annoyance. "But... It wouldn't be anything I haven't done before. Looking like an idiot. If only walking straight up to him and saying, "Alfred F Jones, you are the man of my dreams, so take me I'm yours!" WOULDN'T be totally creepy."

((That got a little weird all of a sudden. Imagine if someone was just casually passing in the hall...

Katie sighed and shook her head slightly, before smiling reassuringly at Ella. "I know, I wish I could help, though. And that sounds like a good plan. I look stupid every day, so you wouldn't be the only one," she said, looking up and noticing that they were nearing the female dormitory. Falling silent for a few moments, she opened her mouth to answer her. "Yeah, not creepy at all. Not one bit," she said, grinning.

"Ah well..." She shrugged. "I'll see you tomorrow, Kay? Maybe for breakfast... Maybe..." Ella smiled and waved to Katie before walking to her dorm room and fumbling to unlock the door. Her face fell as soon as she realized she was alone. She muddled through pulling out sleepwear and peeling the soaked clothing off of her body. She had to sift through her things to find a towel and dry herself off, leaving her hair looking rather gross. It's not like she really cared, that was a problem for morning Ella.
There was no way to put into words what mixed emotions were pooling in her stomach.
Fear.
Excitement.
Anxiety.
Disgust.
Happiness.
But mostly she just felt confused. How could she possibly talk like that? Like there was an actual possibility of her having a chance with him... She was the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. That was it. Why should he regard her in any other way than he did any of the 49 others?
He shouldn't. She didn't deserve any special treatment. If anything... She would be a charity case.
He was just being nice to her. That was it.

So why did it feel like something more?
Why did it feel like he was genuinely interested?
Why was it so easy to talk to him?
When had she stopped worrying about looking stupid?
How could it feel so comfortable to be caught in his glance?
And when had Ella started being... Honest, about what she felt about her history?
Why hadn't she kept things professional? Why did she seek out reasons to talk to him? Why couldn't she just ignore how she felt?!
Like every other time.
Like everyone at the state seemed to.
Because she couldn't. Now that the object of her long lived affections was so close, so tangible... There was no ignoring how he made her feel.

Ella looked in the mirror. She tried to smile. To force away those terrible thoughts that looked so prominent on her face. If she didn't practice the muscle memory of smiling, people might start to notice.
Before crawling into her bed, Ella spoke to herself. "You ARE beautiful. You ARE special. You ARE worthy."
Maybe if she said it enough times, some day she would actually believe it.

She smiled at the news and giggled a bit at Lovino's question. "Well... I do have a brother, actually... a lot... But I live with only my two brothers and my older sister. I'm the youngest in the family. At first I thought it was going to be really boring but then, it's actually quite interesting here!" she explained as they walked into the room full of supplies.
There were several canvases and easels set up for artists, but she didn't see anybody else in the room other than Feli, Lovi and herself. Walking towards one of the set up materials, she picked up a brush and examined it.
"The materials are quite new, that's good." she remarked and put it back. "Do you think there's anyone else in the art club or is it just us three?" she asked.

Luna started to walk, all her things shoved neatly in the satchel she carried. "Makes sense," she replied with a shrug. "So, have you met your roommate? I'm not sure what to think of mine..... She's a bit strange, but then again, I'm strange. I think we're cool with each other, so far. She shouldn't get on my nerves too much. She seems nice, though. Brought me cookies and milk, which was cool."
