and nodded. "So, you okay?"

"I'm fine." Aura smiled, staggering to her feet. "Or were you talking to Blade, the mystical talking cheetah." She laughed. "Kidding, kidding."

Liv rolled her eyes and flared her wings.
"Yeah, this black-winged human-avian is
talking to the English-speaking cheetah
who also happens to be a flying human-avian
hybrid."

"Magic." Aura laughed.

"Magic," Liv agreed. "Like the magic
that lets me go phoenix."

"Like the magic that lets me control wolves." Aura said. "Course, it's not magic at all, but the work of freaking stupid scientists who, of course, just had to experiment."

Liv raised an eyebrow. "Really? Does that
seem like something the scientists put in
us? I've pieced together some of my past
from that short...memory that I had; I used
my phoenix powers to escape. Why would
they let me have something like that. I could
have just burned the School down then and
there."

"They probably want to use as weapons against other countries or something. I don't quite remember how I escaped. I think I attacked somebody... but that doesn't matter..." Aura shrugged.

Liv let out a short bark of laughter.
"Weapons? What makes them think
I'd have ever let them use me for
their own gain." She shook her head.
"Ah, well. How's Charlie? Can we
get outta dodge now? I hate places
where people can go."

"I'm itching to leave as well." Aura agreed. "But...I want to tell you something about Charlie...out of hearing range of the other Erasers." Aura said, thinking of the lady earlier.
