Pippins smiled happily, nibbling on the cookie and staring at the ferret.

Furattā's smile disappeared. She shook her head and rested it on her knees. "I feel like I could be easily replaced. If I had never been alive, but there was somebody else in my place, it wouldn't make any difference..."

Henrg looked over at Lyric. "Do you know how to cook?" he asked her as he took the can from Spice and got out a pot.

Roslyn sipped her tea, sighing with satisfaction. "Do you all like the tea?" she asked. It was a special camomile tea she made when she was little, and she had been experimenting with it, trying to make the perfect cup of tea.

"Honestly, i'm surprised you didn't ditch me the moment we stepped in Castle of Heart's garden. Anyone else would have left me the minute they knew the trouble I was. But, you stayed by my side. It might not mean much, but you're the most important thing in my life." Cheshire Cat smiled. "Besides it is no time to be down when the ball is ten time periods away. Or as outsiders call it, two days." Cheshire explained.

Lyric's face turned a bit red from embarrassment. "No..." she answered. Her mom usually just gave her a sandwich or a salad and maybe some microwavable chicken. Or, if Lyric was lucky, her mom would prepare a nice meal because her mom's friends were over, and Lyric would be able to get leftovers.

Furattā brightened up as Cheshire spoke. She suppised that being important to one person aas enough. Actually, it was more than enough. She still didn't like that she had no real purpose, but she pushed that aside and hugged Cheshire. "You're very important to me too," she said softly, then nodded. He was right.

Henry smiled when he saw her blush. "Do you want me to teach you?" he asked her. "I cooked at a resturaunt back at home," he told her.

Cheshire Cat smiled, happy he made her feel better. His cheeks turned a bit red when she hugged him. "I wonder how Roslyn will feel if I bug her about the ball." he laughed at the idea.

"It's okay, i'm kind of accident prone anyway." Lyric said. She was afraid she'd mess up and set something on fire.

(They do it every year during the day of fools (I can't say the actual name without it going to Dandelion Fools. Last year they changed it to Nicholas Cage))

Furattā giggled a little bit then shrugged. She loosened her hold on Cheshire, but stayed close to him. Her bunny toy watched them with a kind of jealous look.

"Well, alright then," Henry said then began cookimg the tomato soup. He added a few extra things he could find in the kitchen to make it taste better.

Corvino set down the finished tea and cookie and adjusted his mask back over his face. "It was quite nice thank you..." He said and took the blood out setting it in front of him.

"Yummy!" Pippins chirped, laughing.

"Thank you." the queen smiled. She looked at the bottle of blood, and then back at Pippins. "It was a pleasure to meet such a charming young lady." Roslyn bowed her head. Roslyn was sad she was loosing an outsider so soon, but she also thought of how angry Jabber would be if she didn't take it. The room suddenly dimmed a bit, making Roslyn grin as she turned around. "Only nine more time periods until the ball!" she thought, looking at the night sky.

Cheshire's blush didn't fade. Suddenly the time period changed from afternoon, to night. Cheshire yawned, tail stretching out. He hugged Furatta back with one arm, steadying himself on the branch with the other. He looked up at the stars through the branches and sighed.

The room suddenly went completely dark, aside from some stars which lit the sky through the window. This didn't help brighten the room at all though. Suddenly, Spice clapped her hands and the walls of the hut seemed to light up with small specks of blue light. "What is all this?" Lyric asked in amazement. The wind chimes blew peacefully as the room looked as if it was filled with stars. "They're glow worms. I was swimming down a river and found a cave full of them! I took them home for when the time periods got dark." Spice explained.

Pippins tilted her head. "What was that?" she asked.
