Miles - Tags: ShinnMiles smiled back, and nodded. "It is, isn't it?" he asked. "I love rich tasting food like this." he exclaimed. "You really are in for a treat if you dine with me!" Miles chuckled, and let his thoughts wander to why Finn wanted him here in the first place. Because he could think like criminals... and non-criminals. He had a unique talent... so... how to apply it? Skysword Industries... Miles knew it was an extremely dangerous company if it went rogue... it could use its nearly unlimited resources to wage a virtual war all its own. So... why would Hiram go rogue?
Motive... that's what Hiram lacked. Axlerod's motive had been vengeance... so... was Hiram after the same thing? Some secret, deep harbored grudge he never told anyone about? Maybe that's what this bloke was after. But then... what was this red and blue rot? What did it mean?
To Miles... if he suddenly started babbling nonsense like that... it would mean he was revealing... his true self... something he'd kept long hidden for years... ether that or he was insane. But insanity rarely presented itself with such... calculating ferocity as Carew had unleashed... if indeed he''d unleashed such ferocity.
"You know I've been thinking..." Miles began slowly. "What if... what if Carew's been like me... living behind a mask his whole life? What if he's... showing his... real self now?" he asked, looking over at Shinn with almost an intense gaze. "I mean why else would he talk nonsense, unless he were insane? And insanity... doesn't usually present like that. He certainly has the resources to pull off this kind of thing after all. What do you think?"
Dusty - Tags: Shadow"That's him." Dusty confirmed. "No doubt in my mind." His voice was grim, but set. He nodded as Shadow said they'd take him down. "Yeah... we have to. He's... he's terrible. He just filled me with such dread. Such... horror. I've never felt that way before... never. I just think..." He was interrupted by the sudden near collision between Shadow and Doc, and Dusty shot forward instinctively, trying to throw himself between the two, but he wasn't in time. Maybe it was the way she had stroked his pontoons, or just his desire to protect her now, but whatever it was, he had tried.
"Hey! Doc, right? Careful!" Dusty insisted. "Where you headed to in such a hurry? We were going to the beach... restaurant and beach that is." Dusty explained. "Looked like you were heading to the airport or something, eh?" he asked. Looking over at Shadow, he smiled slightly at her. "Heh... what did Finn say?" he asked now. "Who is he?"
Oskar - Tags: Jigsaw, Spray, Rush"Well I don't consider my life particularly impressive but.. if you say so." Oskar smiled weakly at Spray here. "I do suppose my combat career took me to many nations... I just didn't have much time to enjoy the sights really." he said regretfully.
Oskar gave Rush a sympathetic look, and reached out a wing, patting his own wing comfortingly. "I understand. I... sometimes it never really leaves you." He turned to look at Jigsaw too, and smiled. "Believe me... mine as well. I hear loud noises and I jump. Bangs in particular really get to me. But you well... we're much alike." Oskar turned his green disc over to red, to indicate he was ready to stop eating. He noted he was only carrying American money, but figured it wouldn't be a problem here. He tossed some bills on the table, and looked about him. "If this place is putting you on edge... let's just move on, eh?" he asked.
He looked towards the exit. "What do you say?"
Finn - Tags: Sid, Aeris, ShadowFinn nodded, and responded to Shadow's request. "Yes... yes he is." He said gravely. "I think he's our car. At least according to Dusty he is. He's CEO of Skysword Industries... one of the most respected weapons' manufacturers in the world... he's got high level contacts in every developed nation, and is highly respected for supplying the world with arms. Not well liked by our Russian friends, but he's considered a staunch ally of the West. Not sure how else to put it but... he's well connected, and has no red flags on him, nor has he ever demonstrated any terrorist tendencies... but if he's gone rogue... he's certainly a power unto himself, and has the capability to make things very, very bad for people like us." Finn explained.
He shifted his attention to Streak now, and glared darkly at him. "What are you implying?" he asked. "Maybe we'll let you be the second." He said acidly. "There was no way we could've known about Bandit Squadron, and we were helping a US fighter jet who was calling for help. All of our jets knew the risks... including Agent Riggs. Everyone does the minute they sign up for this kind of thing, and I will not have you badmouth it." he stated sternly. He noted with disdain that Streak was encircling his son again.
"Actually I think I'll be taking my son with me now to our field offices here. Sorry... there's not much room for you I'm afraid." He said, smirking right back at him here. "Aeris... I want to show you what an office in the field is like. Give you a taste of what your old man does." He smiled at him here. "Also I'd like to look at what kind of gear you have, since you obviously have some, much to your surprise I bet when we were attacked yesterday at Propwash. I'll give you an assessment of it, and tell you what it does, as well as teach you how to activate it." he suggested.
Skila and Blade - Tags: Ibex, OtterSkila looked from Blade to Otter, and let her gaze linger on Otter. "Pleasure to meet you." She didn't redirect her gaze to Blade, but instead kept her eyes on her former squadron mate. "Otter I..." she began, unsure of what to say here next. "This organization you joined... can anyone come in?" she asked hesitantly. "If I'm going to be a target again... maybe I should hit back first. But what is your role in all this?" she asked uncertainly. She didn't want to be rude, but clearly he couldn't fight anymore.
Blade wanted to speak up, to defend Otter and tell her how capable he was, and that it wasn't just for lack of sight that she should judge him. He finally decided to do so, unable to contain himself anymore. "Otter's a valuable member of this team... he witnessed something only one other has so far... and he's received details that helped put us on the right track. He wants to help because this is a battle for more than just a few areas of the world... it's for the world. And he can contribute too... Otter is..." Blade looked at him here, smiling, but resisted the urge to say anything too... obvious in terms of praising him. "Capable of handling himself in some of the situations we may come across on this mission."
Skila looked from Blade to Otter again, staring at her blind former companion. "I see... I didn't mean to imply he wasn't capable it's just... I... I don't know." she trailed off here, unsure what to say on the matter further. Otter had always shown off the most in front of her... as if he'd always been trying to impress her and... but he had just been such a... jerk back then. Arrogant... and his arrogance had killed Pike... and upon remembering that little fact, she hardened once more to him. He face set, and Blade could tell she wasn't going to open up to him... at least not right now.
"I suppose we could join you in your fight... what do think, Ibex?" she asked, looking over to him now.
