J'kier closed his eyes and muttered a curse,"Mercer. He was the Guildmaster before me. I've known the guy forever. He was a nice guy when we first met, but he changed over time. Everyone does. Anyways, He traumatized the Guild by stealing the skeleton key from the Sepulcher, and murdering Gallus, who was my mentor back in those days, and was also the Guildmaster at the time. He had us played for fools, and he stole every septim from the vault without anyones notice. It was 25 years later when everyone finally figured it out." J'kier took a deep breath, and sighed.

"Huh." Aoibheanne grunted. "Thieving from the Thieves. Quite a bit of irony there." She paused. "I'm sorry for your loss."
Aoibhe sat there in silence, thinking.

J'kier opened one eye,"Aye. Im glad Mercer's gone. Less arguements with the Junior members over nonsense. Mercer always aroused suspicion in my eyes, greedy little bastard thought he was slick. Hardly." And with that, The Khajiit closed both eyes, and kicked his feet into the space on the bench opposite him, and sank back, trying to relax.

Aoibheanne stepped off the carriage and stretched. Sitting for so long in one place.... She couldn't imagine how the carriage drivers did it.
"Finally." She muttered. "I don't understand why they stop so for away. Good to walk at least."

J'kier hopped off behind her, grunting when his feet hit the ground. Whiterun. It'd been too long since he'd visited Vilkas and the rest of his friends up in Jorrvaskr, but decided now wasn't the time. He walked some distance towards the mountain, looking up at it with wide eyes before looking back to Aoibheanne,

"I forgot! The 5,000 steps doesn't start until Ivarstead." He swore violently under his breath for several moments before speaking again,"If we're going to make it by tonight, We need to move now."

"Jeez..." Aoibheanne muttered. "Well, let's go. I was gonna buy some food but it can wait till we get there. There's still an inn, right?"
