[Sijach~Shadowstorm]

"No, it's nothing. I was expecting to get more hurt than this." Elenwen said with a little smile, a lone gypsy was asking for trouble. Sadly she didn't have any other chose, her clan was gone. The raven hopped onto Elenwen's shoulder and gave Ayra an odd look, it seemed to be almost studying her. Elenwen quickly shooed the creature away and curled back up in the moonlight. She could here a quite almost silent music coming from outside, though she knew it was a bad idea to look.

[Derelict Draught]

: Ayra :

Ayra is surprised by the woman's answer. "You were expecting to get hurt? Why? Why would anyone want to hurt you? I understand being afraid of you, you did cause a bit of a scene downstairs, but to hurt you? That would take something...heinous." A thought flickers across Ayra's mind. "Someone said that you weren't traveling with the lizard boy. Were you out there alone?" Marle had always told her of the dangers of a woman traveling alone. He had told her much about the trouble a lone woman could find, he had even shown her how dangerous it truly was a few times. He had always been there to help her when it surfaced but he wanted her to understand, almost like he was preparing her for something.

"I'm a gypsy, a witch, most people hate me just for what I am and what I believe in." she spoke as though it wasn't that big of a deal. It seemed to her gypsies were dispised by everyone, dispite the shows they brought. "To answer your second question: No I'm not traveling with the dragonkin, never seen him before in my life. I had a clan, but I wander around on my own anyway, even they seemed to be afraid of me sometimes." she looked down, no matter where she went or what she did people still looked on her in the same way: a monster, the devil's child whatever they wanted to call her but it all stood for the same thing. Evil.

: Ayra :

Ayra looks at the woman in a new light. She understood her pain somewhat. She had been abandoned by everyone she had ever been close to, with the exception of Marle but that was only a matter of time. She reaches her hand out an places it on the woman's shoulder. "I'm sorry. I used to be all alone on the street too. Not too long ago I was attacked by a man and no one would help me. I managed to escape but he came back with the guard. Marle saved me from them. So far he has been the only kindness in my life. I owe him a lot and one day I will repay him. I know its not quite the same as being feared by people but..." Ayra pauses not quite sure what her own meaning is. "I have been hated and looked upon as a lesser my entire life. I can only dream of what it must be like to be feared. To be powerful." She meets the woman's eyes, a blushing smile on her face. "You are the only one I've ever told this to. Its nice to have a friend."

Marle

As a Ranger, Marle understood some of Kijana's feelings. Humans tended to be less than welcoming to their own and even less so to others. "Humans do tend to absorbed in themselves and forget that there is a world about them but just like the dragons they can differ greatly." The thought of how Ayra would protest that statement brings a soft smile to Marle's face. "The solitude of flight must be nice. No one following you or expecting anything of you. Just peace. Then again, nothing is ever what its cracked up to be. When you blend in you can get lost in the tide of thoughts around you and just become another piece of the whole." Marle lies on his back and stares at the ceiling. In his mind he can see the night sky that he had spent so long staring at. He missed the woods.

Elenwen looked over to her "Friend." she had never used the word before, it was a nice word, it didn't cut her throat. "Two men isn't that bad; try having a small town put a price upone your head, have it be your fathers hometown. Then you've learned fear and pain." she shook the haunting memory of when she had gone to seek her father's non-existant grave. They considered him a traitor and had never bothered to burry him. She shook her head, the raven crowed and cawed from her shouler. She looked over to Ayra again "To be feard can be good but it also means not even your family don't fear you, people try to kill you; hunting you like an animal... and the wost part is that no one ever seems to care, no one can rid enough of the fear to." she was trying to warn Ayra, fear wasn't a good thing and power was even worse.

: Ayra :

Ayra closes her eyes in a sort of pout. Another person lecturing her. No wonder Marle had roomed them together. "I can imagine that its no better than waking up to a city that thinks you are worthless. The guard have hunted us in the past. Claiming that the stragglers are responsible for any number of crimes.." Ayra controls her temper. "At least if you are powerful, people have an actual reason to fear you. They actually know what you are. In the city, they didn't. If you're ears were pointed you were vermin to be exterminated." Ayra stops before sharing what little she truly knew of her own family but that was a story for another time.

Ayra slumps against the wall. There is no point in talking, there is nothing more of use that she can learn from this woman, at least nothing Marle didn't already recite to her on a regular basis. "So the world of mankind is a place full of monsters and beasts." Ayra closes her eyes. A tear slips down her cheek, the world would never be better, no matter how much she did. People would always be the same cruel monsters that haunt her memory. The demons haunt every shadow she sees, always waiting for her to let her guard down. For once, she really did miss Marle. If he were here he'd know exactly what to say, he always did.

Ayra stretches out on the floor, making herself comfortable. "Good night Elenwen." Ayra allows the peace of sleep to overtake her. Every muscle relaxing for the first time since she'd awaken. She was only this relaxed with those she trusted and it had taken months for her to become this comfortable around Marle, how was it that she was so...open with this woman? Perhaps its just nice to have another woman and elf nearby. Someone who would help her if something happened. Ayra puts the thoughts to rest and then joins them in the solace.

Marle

Marle stretches. The scotch helping him to relax and draining his energy. "I think I might sleep tonight. If you have any questions or need anything let me know and I'll convince the innkeeper without having to break him. Aside from that, rest well Kijana." Marle gives the dragonkin one final glance before closing his eyes and drifting to sleep.

[Sijach~Shadowstorm]

"Um... sleep well." Elenwen said quietly, not sure what she was supossed to say, not many people outside her clan and some insider her clan hadn't talked to her fro this long. She leaned against the wall, drawing her knees up to her chest and staring at the window. She softly to herself, a song that would have been innocent turning mysteriouse and sad when she sang in.

(Sorry for not being on. I've had a lot of stuff to do and haven't really posted in anything. I need a recap please and I already see CB's last post above.)
