Maximum Ride Roleplay

Athena had her wings out stretched for Hiro. She watched the fire as the familiar feeling of having her wings preened over took her body, and she grew a little tired forgetting about her scratches and bruises. Each of the damaged feathers removed from there place was lake taking each damaged part of the world away from her, and it revealed her gratefully.

((Every one is where they were before but Hiro is preening Athena's wings now. And noe Fang did not save Riley. She is at the school in a cage awaiting the experiments to begin.))

Hiro quickly finished up, much faster than he'd seen Jinx do to him, but then again she was probably taking her time. He took the pile of feathers in both hands and tossed them into the fire, watching as they shriveled up quickly, the flames devouring them in seconds. He gave a small nod and went back to sit by Jinx, suddenly feeling tired.

Athena nodded as thanks to Hiro as he went back to Fang. She fluffed her feathers a little to allow the heat fro the fire to enter each space. He stomach let out a slight grumble and she remembered that she hadn't eaten anything since the bacon that morning.

I sat on the stone floor and brush some dust off the tips of my feathers, straightening them out as I do so. It annoyed me every time my feathers werent ordered correctly. Not really sure why though.I sat listening to the others, unsure if I should join a conversation or just sit and listen like I always did.

Without even thinking I pulled Hiro back into my lap. This seemed more natural and I wanted him close more for my sake than anything else. Instead of wrapping my wings around him again, I stretched them out not liking the feeling of not using them. The bone and muscles were becoming stiff from disuse which meant I was due for some flying quite soon. Until my body recovered enough, I'd be stuck with just stretching them out. "Eventually, we'll have to return home. There are things we need if we plan on surviving long enough to get Riley back." Not wanting to even think about what unspeakable things she could be going through at the moment, I buried my nose in Hiro's neck trying to focus on something else. Even though I already knew everyone's scents like the back of my hand, picking them apart was a way to keep my mind busy.

Hiro slung his arms around Jinx's waist, figuring she could use the comfort with the way she was incessantly holding him, sniffing his neck. He kept his wings folded loosely against his back, the position comfortable for now.

After a few long moments I finally released him, letting out a bitter laugh as I did so. "I know you must be getting sick of me constantly cuddling with you as if you were little more than a teddy bear." He seldom spoke out about his feelings but even I would be a bit miffed at this point.

Hiro just shrugged, a sound of indifference emitting from the back of his throat. He lay in her lap limply, letting her do what she pleased with him. He didn't really mind, just so long as she didn't try to do anything stupid, which she hadn't so far.

Smiling softly I wrapped my arms around him once more letting the familiar action bring be some semblance of peace and comfort. Even though I'd never say it outright, Hiro was my favorite in the flock. Although, I had a feeling that everyone was already aware of that.

With time, Hiro slowly lost consciousness and he laid his head on Jinx's shoulder. He was still silent, but his mouth was open just the tiniest bit, his jaw slack with the comfort of peaceful sleep, something he hadn't experienced in a long time.
