Oh, spaghetti and a small jar of sauce. I'm not sure you'll be around, and I...You have the sparring thing, and...are we allowed to watch?" he asked. "If we are, I might have to eat at base. If not...ill be sharing that spaghetti with mom," he laughed. Then again, there might be time for Coby to have dinner with them. He'd said he'd get the stuff after work, which reminded Luc he'd have to go back too.

"A little luck says this match won’t be like that of our predecessor's, which took a fight of ten days and an island set to permanently both burn and freeze at once. While getting too close wouldn’t be advised, there’s nothing in the Marine code that says spectators aren't allowed to observe a match," Coby noted. Buck gasped, seeming equally eager to keep their little cuddle sessions a secret. "And risk the others wanting to get in on this? I wouldn't dare!!" Buck reveled in the feeling of Law's fingers running through his dense fur, he hugged his captain closer, enjoying the man's soothing touch. Law was all his- no one else would ever find out about this. Buck was hardly selfish about anything- but his Traffy was a different story- not only would he get all of the cuddles, he also didn't have to worry about anyone mistreating Traffy. No, Buck couldn't let that happen, Buck knew he'd treat Law right and never let any harm come to him, and if his experience thus far with the world was anything to go by, no one else could be trusted with the same responsibility. A whisper of a rumble sounded within Buck's chest as he nuzzled protectively against the doctor, "All mine."

Law chuckled to himself, nuzzling into Buck's chest. He wasn’t a cuddler, but with so much thick, warm fur, how could he NOT want to hug Buck? Such a thought was unfathomable! Tangling his slender fingers in thick fur, breathing in Buck's warm scent, that of safety…it was all he wanted right now. It couldn’t be simpler, but this was exactly what he needed for the moment. Just a moment to relax, and he could usually take care of himself just fine, but knowing he could afford to relax and let his guard down was nice. Knowing that even if something happened, he didn’t have to worry, because he could close his eyes and lay here, and Buck would keep him safe.

"All yours," Law agreed. Somehow, Buck's possessiveness made the doctor's heart skip a beat. Annoying, but he could deal with it. He’d still have to look into things there later. He closed his eyes and pressed closer, as close as he could. "I love you. So much, and I’m never going to stop saying it."

We will certainly NOT be like the Fleet Admiral before both Orekani and I.” As much as she wanted to reassure her boyfriend and tell him it is a fight I can win, she didn’t know everything that Orekani was capable of. Kirsten said taking Kitchi’s hand and giving it a squeeze to try and reassure him, but mostly to have someone close to her she loved and cared for, “But even if this fight not be winnable, I will not go down without giving it my all. I would never have the guts to kill a fellow Marine, kick him out, that would be for sure on the table, let the risks of him challenging me again if I win diminish.” She looked over to him and said her voice low so no one else could here, “Your so caring Kitchi, thank you. I’m lucky your my boyfriend.” Raising her voice she said, “I think that would be best if the doctors knew and have everything on stand by after the fight.”

Nico nodded. He still felt guilty. It had, after all, been his catching Linkk off-guard that had caused this in the first place. It had never in the least been his intention to bring harm to his friend. That was the last thing he wanted. He’d been with Linkk in the Marines, been supported there, and he knew Linkk cared about him on a deeper level than he could truly understand properly. He had always intended to return the favour by taking care of his friend. Bruising him up wasn’t taking care of him.

"Yeah. Whatever you need. I’m here to help in whatever way I can," Nico promised. He offered a weak smile, perhaps a little forced. He knew it was only a minor wound, but he also knew from experience that sometimes it was the smaller wounds that could hurt the most. He’d been there before. What pirate HADN'T?

"I love you too." Karter pressed a kiss to Navii's forehead, a soft smile on his face. How had he ever gotten so lucky? He’d always assumed romance was off the table for him, with the kind of frustrating attitude he had in general, and yet somehow he’d been lucky enough to not only find his childhood best friend all over again, after years apart, but to fall in love with her too, and have that love returned. It was nothing short of a miracle, in his opinion.

Karter took a deep breath, letting his mind run over what it might be like, and he knew he’d made up his mind and would stick with it this time. "Then…Then tonight we can chat with Sabo and see if he can vouch for us, give us an in. In the meantime, Kass shoulda dropped off lunch for Akirra by now, we may be able to catch her now and just…let her know we'll be leavin' soon. It’ll hurt to leave these guys, but there’s nothin' I can personally give them anymore."

Admitting it hurt a little more than Karter liked to admit, even to himself, but it was only the truth. He’d served this crew with his whole heart and every bit of loyalty in him, for three years, and now it was time to break away and move forward in life. Maybe in a way, joining the people meaning to bring down the government that hated even the most harmless pirates so much would be the best way to help their former crewmates. Bring down the corrupted organization that was the Marines that blindly chased their crew. Afford the Calm Belts some time to wander and do as they pleased without having to be watching their backs literally all the time.

"I call it a spar only because I’m sure of who will come out victorious. If I’m wrong and underestimating my opponent though…yeah. It’ll be more of a fight." Coby shuddered. He certainly wasn’t looking forward to it. "It’s after dinner officially, so yeah, we can eat together, and it’ll be out in the training field. Hopefully we don’t blow things up. Given neither of us to my knowledge are Logia types who can cause mass destruction though, I’m sure we won’t do serious damage."

Coby closed his eyes. "I’m going to win this one, Luc. I promise. I’m going to win this one, finally accomplish my dream and be where I was always meant to be, and then I’ll be able to afford the best possible life for us," he swore. He knew it was a far-fetched promise to make, but it was one he was in some part of his heart sure that he COULD make. Kirsten was incredibly strong, and he knew that. One didn’t become an Admiral through weakness. However, he liked to think that based on how he’d been trained, and the kind of experience he’d had, he was STRONGER.

Lucian and Coby both made amazing parents and amazing partners, he wasn’t sure if he’d ever be able to say the same about himself.

Helmeppo shook his head firmly. Cheap plastic rings? For the woman he loved more than life itself? Hell no! "Ohhhh no. No silly dollarstore plastic rings. That doesn’t set the right mood for starting our future together. I don’t have it yet, but I’m absolutely getting you the most beautiful ring in the world. Buck's heart fluttered in his chest as Law nuzzled closer. He couldn't imagine a more perfect moment, Law made him feel so safe, so happy, even if his proximity was the cause of this strange disease, Buck truly couldn't care less. Traffy was worth anything- more than anything. Was this an addiction of sorts?

Law's confirmation that he was all Buck's elicited a little tail wag from the giant mink. He knew Law didn't belong to anyone- no, not even him, Law was his own man but the fact that his attention was all on Buck made the wolf indescribably happy, eliciting even more yet of those foreign, new emotions. This one left a burning warmth in Buck's stomach, a fluttering about in his lower abdomen that felt unfamiliar but oh so nice. Buck tightened his embrace on the man ever so slightly, not wanting to squish or suffocate the doctor against his fluffy chest, his arms draw the smaller man close, one large hand found its way to Law's nape, tenderly caressing the sensitive spot with his thumb. His other hand rubbed soothing circles into Law's lower back, offering a little bit of attention to the other spot likely to hold tension one he hadn't been able to get to earlier. He wanted Law to feel comfortable, safe, happy. Buck wished to offer him a small slice of solace from this cruel world, because, of all people, Law needed and deserved it more than anyone. And the mink would stop at nothing to provide it for him. "I love you too, Traffy! You're too good for this world, I'm so, so lucky to have you. I love you more than anything- more than I could ever hope to express."

The boy hummed quietly as he looked to Nico, seeing a look on his face or thinking he did. Maybe Nico wasn't giving anything away through expression. He said "Ill be fine. If you're thinking it was your fault, it wasn't. It was partially my fault too, if not completely on me. Anyway, guess you're going to have to pick stuff up for me if I drop it..." Shaking his head, he sighed a bit. "Do you...want to talk and get to know each other a little better? Or should we wait until I'm out of here?" he asked.

The gray eyed black haired male nodded to his husband. He glanced to Georgia a moment, brushing at some of her hair. He poked her cheek gently, then left her alone. After all, she was sleeping now and shouldn't be disturbed.

He made a small sound at the mention of blowing things up... "Maybe ill watch as a fox, less chance of getting hit. Ill be smaller; um...or is that a bad idea?" he asked. He then nodded as he said "I know you'll win it."

However, he felt a streak jealous Coby had risen so fast...He felt like he wasn't as competent, but he hadn't said anything cause Coby never asked.

She then shook her head and scolded herself, since she was happy for them. "Hey...most beautiful genderfluid in the world," she said. It was sort of a tease but sort of not. She was genderfluid after all, even if she mostly went by female pronouns.

Law knew someone couldn’t be owned. Not really. Sure, there was the drama and quite honestly, crime in Mary Geoise and all, but they weren’t like the immoral Celestial Dragons. That said…if Buck was the cause for the way his heart pounded and ran laps in his chest, Law would be fine with it anyway. He was the captain and doctor of the crew, but ultimately, his attention was all consumed by Buck in moments like these, and he was just fine with that.

Law closed his eyes, humming in contentment. There was something intimate about that sensitive touch, without it in any way being inappropriate. Something that just made Law feel…safe. The feel of the last of the tension being worked out of his back was relieving too. When had been the last time when Law had really held NO tension? He was always hunched over a book or papers, or worrying about something or other.

"Untrue," Law insisted. He leaned happily against his friend. "You show it every day. The way you smile, sometimes just to make me feel better when I’m down on myself, the way you hug me, the way you want to take care of me, and insist on it even when I argue. Don’t you think all those things are expressions of love, even if they can’t be put into words?" He pointed out.

Nico had thought he’d been pretty expressionless, but given Linkk addressed it, perhaps he hadn’t hidden his worry and guilt as well as he’d thought. Oops. If it helps distract you from the hurt, then I’m all for it." Nico pulled up a chair next to Linkk's bedside. "Whatever you need, I've gotcha."

"As long as you make sure to stay out of the general area Kurataka and I will be in, you should be safe no matter what form you take. If one of us was going harm an innocent outside the battle, then we wouldn’t be fit for the position of Fleet Admiral in the first place." Coby believed that, and if he hurt an innocent in his efforts to climb to the top…well. He would step down then. The Marines may follow the code of Absolute Justice, but he was an upholder of justice in general, and that meant ensuring the safety of innocents.

"You know that you’re gonna climb the ranks eventually one day too, right?" Coby checked, raising an eyebrow. He’d never asked Lucian about it, but he had always wondered in the back of his mind, if there was some sort of tension due to it. He’d received admiration from some officers, and envy from others. He had no idea where Lucian fell on that scale, if at all. "It’s so rare someone stays in the same place forever."
