((Froggi, you want to have Tori talk with Saranu? I think it's about time I revealed something about him... and he'd only tell her.

or maybe Velius, but more likely her.l I'll post a set-up just in case anyone wants to, whether her or not.))
"Somehow I think he already knows that. Then again, with Chase a truck could probably crash in front of him and he may not even notice." Thorn muttered dryly, acknowledging Jacklyn's presence with nothing more than a mildly disgruntled wave. "Now that we're gathering up a zoo can we get going? I'd really rather finish this as soon as possible." "Don't be so grumpy, Thorn. "Slow and steady wins the race" and all that." Jess lectured, waving a finger dramatically and grinning about the simple fact that she had a finger just then. "The turtle may win the race but he still probably ended up as someone's lunch." The wizard retorted sharply, causing both his familiars to stare at him with comically upset expression. "The turtle died?" Fayt whispered, eyes brimming with tears. "Oh for... Fayt, the turtle isn't even real!" "But you said he died!" "He's a turtle, things eat turtles!" Thorn groaned with annoyance as the butterfly's lip began to quiver and swore under his breath, immediately turning around and attempting to ignore her. "Chase, can you talk with Jacklyn so that we can leave already?"
"Ryoku? Ryoku! dammit kid, where are you?" Saranu hissed, eyes scanning the demolished battlefield for a sight of his brother's chocolate brown hair, or a matching wolf. By now he was absolutely exhausted from all he'd done that day; holding up a roof wasn't easy even for someone like him. His throat was hoarse from more than just yelling as well, and the tall boy only managed a few more steps before pain seared in his chest. Doubling over, Saranu held a hand to his mouth in an attempt to qualm the coughing fit that had begun to shake his body. Grimacing from the pain and hoping nobody was around to see him, he staggered to the nearest tree and leaned against it with one arm, the other still covering his mouth. The coughing subsided after about a minute and he slowly pulled his hand away but didn't straighten up- he wasn't even sure he would have been able to at the moment. "damn, not right now." Saranu growled, glaring at his bloody hand and wiping some of the stuff away from his mouth as though his body was purposefully inconveniencing him. Sticking around in a smoky, plaster-filled building likely wasn't helping him much- but it wasn't like even he could let all those people die, was it?
