Somebody Up There (Camp Half-Blood Semi-Lit RP) Accepting

Brody smiled, "Oh good, you know everything already. Or at least as much as you need to know." His face darkened as he thought of all the times older campers had kept secrets from him. At least no guilt consumed him. He knew of no secrets he was supposed to keep from others. He ruffled his hair slightly before continuing on. "Well it's good to meet you Ian," he paused, glancing at the girl, "and you too, Ife."
Brody beckoned to the two new campers, waving bye to his satyr friend before walking around the now dispersing crow. Turning the two he began to recite the age old speech old campers treated to new campers. The dreaded camp tour. Outside his view on his 4th tour of the camp was different. "Come with me," he said, "I'll give you a tour of the camp and we'll talk on the way."

Rain had already started to walk away from the now scattered crowd. Her brother was taking care of the what appeared to be twins, and once she had found out they were unclaimed she knew all she needed to know. Glancing back once more at the top of Half-Blood Hill Rain thought about her first steps into the camp. She had believed everything right from the start. First, it had been her brother who explained everything to her, and she trusted her brother explicitly. Second, because it explained the irremovable wings on her back.
Rain was pulled back into focus as she collided with somebody. "Hey watch where you're going!" she blurted without thinking. She stopped and blushed as she realized who it was. It was the blind Hephaestus kid everybody talked about. "Oh sorry, I didn't mean to bump into you, I was just distracted and I was thinking about other things," she babbled, trying to reason her transparent rudeness. She trailed off into silence, waiting for the boy who couldn't see, to prove he could at least hear and speak.

[Anomaly]

Dresyn whispered, "No, it's my fault. Just got a bit... Lost." He chuckled at his own joke. He heard her voice plenty times around the commons. Rain. Daughter of Iris. "I'm sorry to bump into you. Just trying to get back to the cabin." Or the forge. Thank the gods it was right next door. Dresyn noted the difference in her voice.

Rain relaxed a little, glad to find at least one camper who wasn't confrontational. Or could at least put up with her constant mood swings. "Do you need help getting there?" she asked, not knowing what the proper etiquette was for such circumstances. "You're part of the Hephaestus cabin, aren't you..." she trailed off. Great, she thought, not only am I completely rude, but completely ignorant when it comes to others. The Iris camper blushed in embarrassment, feeling the blood heat her cheeks.
She looked down and away, anywhere she wouldn't have to look into his eyes. Realizing he couldn't tell anything from her facial expression, she looked up and directly at his eyes. Trying to discern emotions from somebody's eyes was a lot harder when that someone didn't use them for anything. Instead, Rain studied his facial features. Her eyes traced the crease in his brow and his lips that were definitely not smiling. Or at least she hoped that wasn't a smile.

[Anomaly]

((Mood swings. ))

Dresyn nodded. "If you could please." Dresyn knew she was staring but didn't have the heart to tell her that he could tell. Dresyn tried to keep his face blank.

"Sure." Ian shrugged as Brody led them on through the camp

Ife was lost in her thoughts as they toured the camp, the only thing that kept her moving was was the fabric of her brothers coat which she held tightly to. 'everything is so different here. There is so much to do and see. Are all the campers as nice as Brody? I wonder who our godly parent is... or who our mortal one is..." When Ife and Ian were orphaned at age 8 they had lost all previous memory. They had no idea who their parent was or where they came from. one day they just woke up in an orphanage. The nice head lady had told them their names but that was all. Ife recoiled from the thought. She didn't like thinking about her family or the first orphanage and foster home. She tuned back into Ian and Brody. "What's that over there?" He said pointing over to a large rock wall.

Rain gently took hold of the boy's elbow, and started walking towards the cabin. "So you didn't tell me your name," she said, looking at him out of the corner of her eye. "I'm Rain, daughter of Iris," she said beaming. Her smile faltered as she realized that for the first time ever, her "million-dollar smile" wouldn't have any affect on the person she was trying to charm into friendship. She groaned internally, realizing she would have to rely on her voice alone to prove she was genuine.
Her smile lit up her face once more. A challenge. Perfect, she thought, and began guiding the Hephaestus boy with more confidence. "So what is your name?"

Brody smiled at Ife, "That is the climbing wall. As part of the training here at Camp Half-Blood, we like to give ourselves a challenge. Laval pours down from the top as you try to climb up it, and if you don't get to the top in time, the rocks will smash together, crushing you in between." Brody's eyebrows waggled as he watched the reactions of the siblings. It was always fun to see how scared they might be at the thought of imminent danger.
"But don't worry," he continued after he was satisfied that they would take the camp seriously, "will start you off easy and you'll train up to it." He continued walking and they neared a large house situated neatly amongst the low hills. "This is the Big House, where you can meet our activities director, Chiron. Just a warning, he's a little unusual." Brody started marching towards the house.

[Anomaly]

Dresyn gulped slightly. "My name is Dresyn. A pleasure to finally meet you Rain." He felt the difference in her voice and almost swooned to it but he kept his mind off it.

((Man, it is so hard for me to find what to say. Could you maybe give me a little more so it is easier for me?

Rain cocked her head slightly, curious. "Finally meet me? As if you've been waiting for the chance to talk to me?" she teased, easing herself into her own comfort zone. "Well I'll let you in on a little secret," she whispered in his ear, "if you can keep it a secret". Her voice died as a few birds twittered somewhere far off. She pulled back, staring into his beautiful grey eyes, waiting for his response.

"I've heard your voice and didn't get a chance to meet you when you first came here." Dresyn felt weird talking. Live things weren't usually what he was use to interacting with. Dresyn whispered, "Of course I can keep a secret." Never have anyone to talk to anyway, he thought. Dresyn heard the twittering and listened. He felt her stare and let his expression turn blank, only letting a small smile escape before disappearing.

((Yeah I know it can be tough. I tried once. Try describing tastes, smells, things Dresyn feels, and what he hears. Since he can't see you are left with those 4 sense only.))

Rain let out a small giggle before clapping a hand over her mouth. She took a few more steps over the bumpy terrain; trying to force herself to be as normal as possible so she wouldn't scare him away. Fat chance, she thought, demi-gods are never normal. She turned her face towards Dresyn and muttered just loud enough so he could hear, "I've always been curious about meeting you too." This time she tried to put her smile in her voice, hoping that being blind enabled you to hear such things.
"So Dresyn..." she started to say before her clumsy feet almost tripped over themselves. She let out a huge laugh, head thrown back. "Hang on one second," she said as her own laughter died down, "I guess I'm not the best guide when I'm clumsier than a 2-year old." It felt good to be able to poke some fun at herself. She could almost feel the tension ease a little between them. Or at least she hoped it was for him as well.
