~=Era=~

Closing her one eye and letting out a small sigh, Era sat patiently, internally cringing as the cold paint was spread across her pale skin, her pale pink lips parted slightly and she inhaled slowly, swiping her tongue across her lips to moisten them. Her one, pale blue eye opened a fraction to look at the things going on, she'd already been listening to the speech and all, though she was curious to look at Sophie now. Era's lips turned down in a soft frown, she could see Sophie clearly, and the mother priestess, but couldn't tell how far away they were. Well that was the curse of having only one eye, no depth perception what so ever.
Era closed her eye once more and waited for the Priestess to be down with her own markings, she felt them skip lightly over the socket in which her left eye had once been in, it was a horrible mark on her otherwise petite and pretty face. She sighed once more, she seemed to be doing that quite frequently these days. She relaxed, slumping her shoulders as she listened, she knew she was the oldest in the group by a year. Though she had worked hard to get to the level she was at now, she was a good tracker, despite not knowing how far away, nor how deep things were.
She felt the fingers of the priestess lightly trace patterns over her high pale cheekbones, the paint getting smeared in designs that would look exotic on the ever so pale skin of Era. She breath through her nose and exhaled through her mouth, smelling the strong, heavy intoxicating scent of the paint, she was liking it less and less. Though it was part of the hunt, so what would she have to say to stop it? And like she'd say anything like that anyway, as long as she looked like the other women for a day or two she didn't mind. She let out yet another small sigh, lightly stretching out her fingers and then clenching them to her palm once more, just to unstiffen them.
Era's eye slowly opened once more when the Priestess told her her marking were done. She nodded her thanks slowly and stood up, her bare feet digging their toes into the ground. Era gazed at her arms and just able to see a few markings on her neck, she didn't like the heavy feel of the paint on her skin, it made her feel wet, and Era did not like feeling wet one little bit. She cracked her knuckled lightly as she listened to the last part of the ceremony, Sophie, as Era already knew, would be leading them. A rare smile flashed across Era's usually dull and depressed face. She might find a nice male soon! They'd be going on the hunt for them after all.
Era took a deep breath and puffed out her chest a little proudly, she was damn proud of herself for getting as far as the other women for once. She let out a small squeak of shock and a small jump when she heard the horn, she grit her teeth lightly and bent back lightly and then bolted after the other fleeing women, she kept her eye on Sophie's back, knowing the young leader of the group would know where they had to go. Era's black hair billowed out behind her as she ran and she could feel the drying paint feeling heavier as she ran, she didn't care to ask herself why though, it was probably just because it was frying out.
Era watched her footing carefully as she ran, her eye narrowing as much as it could, she tried to be as fast as she could without being clumsy and falling behind. She lightly went to take a step over a small log and without seeing or realizing it her foot colided with it quite hard, her one eye widened and she let out a small hiss. "What the?" She muttered to herself in a soft voice, and then bolted to catch up once more, her foot twinged a little bit, it had hurt, but it wasn't serious of course.
