Name:
Lance is the name my partner gave to me. Respect her by using it.
Gender:
Male
Pokemon:
I'm a Grovyle
Team Name:
Don't currently have a team
Partner:
I . . . don't have one.
Appearance:
From the green leaves growing from his arms to the long leaf on his head, Lance appears as all other Grovyle do. However, there's a fierceness in his gaze that suggests otherwise. Perhaps it would be wise not to judge him too soon . . .
Personality:
Lance's history has shaped who he was become. There was a time when he was kind, and just peering into his soft golden eyes brought a feeling of safety. You could see the loyalty and sincerity in Lance's gaze. Well, that is what his partner, Rose, once told him. After she was snatched away, Lance turned . . . cold, unfeeling, dark almost. But he's also smart, with a determination in his heart that cannot be measured. He's confident, and knows how to sneak around for information. At first glance, some may assume that this pokemon is the coldest creature that had ever been given life. It's as if he cannot feel any emotion at all, making him almost robotic. This isn't true, though you'll have to devote time into discovering otherwise if you truly want to discover the real meaning behind his cold glare.
History:
She was always there. The day my egg hatched, the first set of eyes mine met were ones of sparkling blue jewels that invited your very soul to grin. In dark brown hair and an inviting smile, I found my future. Rose was my partner from the first breath I breathed. I was her first pokemon, but she was my only partner.
We did everything together. Rose never put me in the PC or a pokeball, because to her I was so much more than a pokemon. I was her friend. The world was a huge and confusing place, but we made sense of it. Despite the occasional feelings of gloom and doom, we endured, and Rose became an amazing pokemon trainer. Many others joined us as we journeyed, but Rose didn't have the same connection with them as the two of us had. We were inseparable.
Her parents often worried that Rose was too attached to me. Things could happen; what if we lost each other? They were afraid that Rose wouldn't have the heart to keep pursuing her dream to become a champion.
These worries didn't change our partnership; Rose wasn't even bothered by their concerns. She trusted me completely, and the feeling was mutual. Whenever we came across a tough situation, (which was often) Rose never once doubted me. Those blue eyes would turn on me with all the trust in the world, and I knew we would be all right. What could possibly happen?
The two of us worked together, and learned how to communicate through a simple look or hand gesture. Without saying a word we were able to tell each other everything. Through hard training and a few molding moments, we became strong.
It was a strange decision, deciding not to evolve. We knew that I would become stronger if I evolved, but for some reason, I didn't . . . want to. In all honestly, I was afraid that I would become power obsessed, and forget what is truly important. Rose respected my decision, and provided me with an everstone so I would never have to change. I wasn't surprised by her acceptance, though. She always wanted whatever made me happy.
Rose was everything to me. She was my best friend, the only human, or living creature, that I felt one hundred percent loyal to. She never treated me as anything less than her invaluable partner, and I never thought of her as anything less than that.
Then she was taken from me. Stolen away by the jealous trainers who knew she was superior to them. They stole my best friend, the most important person in the world.
And I. Did. Nothing.
To rescue me from their grasp, she set me free. I didn't want to go - wouldn't have gone - if she hadn't forced me too. Rose shattered my pokeball into a thousand tiny pieces and screamed for me to run. I still didn't want to go. But the look she shot me that screamed far louder than her voice . . .
I went.
I ran to the forest and never saw my friend again. Now I work for rescue teams, trying to be sure that other pokemon don't have to suffer the way I do.
