Eighteen :: Female :: Mermaid
She got rather irritated as more humans appeared. She could distantly hear a couple merpeople, and hoped they wouldn't come along this beach, and would stay near the cliffs. Leaving now would look too suspicious. She walked along the beach, moving about but staying inconspicuously away from the water. Finding a boulder near the rocky part up farther away from the water, she sat down upon her, pulling off her backpack from her tired shoulders. She felt envious at the swimming merpeople, but there was nothing she could do at this point. Too many humans here, a couple she even recognized as hunters.
Gritting her teeth at the thought, she shook her head with a sigh and laid back, smirking at the sky. She then rolled over on her stomach, not bothered by the discomfort of the rocks. She stretched a hand down, drawing circles in the sand. She was grinning, her jean-covered legs swinging up and down from her position. Chewing on her lip, she started drumming her fingers against the rocks. Squinting, she sighed. The drawing in the sand didn't look like anything. Pushing that layer of sand away, she started fresh.
With a bored yawn, she sat up, tugging at her messy bun. She rummaged through her bag, taking out a book and beginning to read. It was a chilly but pleasant day, and if all else failed - it had, trust me - she could read a book in the partly-cloudy sunshine. Stretching out, her legs sprawled and propped up on another rock. She was tempted to kick of her sneakers, but that wouldn't do. More of a chance of getting wet that way, after all!
You've really done it this time, Eva, she thought to herself, you should just go home. Stop tempting fate. But going home wouldn't do her any good. There was nothing but boredom at home. At least here, she had things to draw and people to talk to. She might be anti-social, but even she got aggravated with the silence. Here, with the crashing waves, murmuring people, and screeching seabirds, it was far from quiet. Oh how she hated the quiet. Well, not always. Sometimes it was a blessing. Other times, a curse.
