Alix blinked, and looked around. A smile spread over her face when she figured out that there was a talking bird next to her. "Hey, that's cool. I kinda wish that had happened to me. I only get to stay in bird form for an hour. And it's just random, I have no idea how to control it either." She shrugged, and picked at the rail beside her. He was a bird. Apparently it wasn't odd to be talking to a bird here at all. At least he could talk. Maybe it was easier to talk to people... when they were animals. She'd never been good at talking to others. "I'm Alix, by the way. And you are?" She cocked her head at him, her grey eyes filled with curiosity.

He chuckled a little. She even acts like a bird. "I'm Daniel. But you can call me Danny. And at least you're not stuck in your form. I've had nothing to eat but raw meat for a week." Danny slumped his shoulders. "I've gotten used to it, but... There's nothing I wouldn't give for an Oreo at this point in time."

"Why didn't you say so in the first place? I'll be right back." Alix spun around on the rail, and ran inside. She came back a few minutes later, a package of Oreos in her hand. She never went anywhere without food, and she didn't trust people not to take her stuff away from her. So pretty much anything she owned had secret places, false bottoms, etc. where she could hide things. Therefore, good snacks. She climbed back onto the rail, and opened the package of Oreos. "Do you think that Oreos are bad for birds?" She mused, narrowing her eyes slightly and staring out into the forest. "And if we're part human or whatever, can we eat them?" She sighed slightly and began picking at the rail again.

"Oh, thanks a ton." Danny hopped over and grabbed an Oreo out of the box. He laid it on the rail and began to hungrily peck.
Suddenly this weird feeling came over him. "Oh, crap." Quickly, he hopped to the ground, and squinched his eyes shut as he morphed back into a human.
Standing up, he glanced over his hands, then over his body. He was wearing the things he had been when he first came here, and morphed into his Falcon form. "I'm back." Smiling broadly, he fished in his pocket for his glasses, which luckily he had remembered to put there at the first sign of the transformation.
"I'm really back." he looked up and smiled at Alix.

Alix grinned, and her eyes sparkled. "Nice to 'actually' meet you." Alix made hand quotes around the word 'actually,' since they had technically already met, but he was a bird. Then, she held out her hand for him to shake, still sitting on the rail. She had her head tilted slightly to the side, appraising him, wondering what kind of person he was.

He gladly went over and shook her hand. Then he picked up the Oreo and shoved it in his mouth. "Well, I probably should be heading back to my cabin. It was a pleasure to meet you, Alix."

Alix nodded. "I'll... see you around, then." She said, hooking her legs through the bars of the porch railing. She gripped it with her hands as well, and smiled at him a little, before turning her head away to look past him.

She stared out towards the forest, and suddenly wished to be a bird again. Her eyes widened, as she changed into her hawk form. Each time, it got faster, and now it was painless. She settled her wings, her talons hooked to the railing, keeping her from falling. With a little shake, she grinned, as much as a bird can, and leapt from the rail. She glided over the ground, before pumping her wings and soaring into a warm updraft of air, that carried her high above the forest. So that was how to change.

Soon, she was high above the forest. She'd learned how to hang steady, the wind pushed against her, and she faced it, looking down at the ground beneath her light body. She rode the winds, laughing happily.
