((*Is summoned8 Holy crap what just happened?O_O I was on my email then... jk. Sort of. Er, I thought some people were going to get kidnapped?xD))
Noami froze momentarily, staring in shock at the eerily silent battle ground. A moment ago there had been fire and bullets and god knows what else raining down on all of them, bringing up clouds of blood-soaked dust and cries of agony. And then suddenly there was nothing but the mourning howls of loss and pain from the survivors, yet even those sounds seemed to be absorbed into the earth in light of the complete lack of sound coming from the dead. Silence. Noami could hear her blood pounding in her ears, her labored breathing racking her smoke-filled chest, the echoes of bombs and guns going off and... a cry for help? Immediately she shook herself out of the daze she had fallen into, snapping to attention and searching for the noise. Before long her eyes fell on Leonor, and without so much as looking back at the phoenix girl beside her she shot off, barely noticing as her abused legs screamed in protest. "Hold still, hold still." The priestess shouted as she approached the injured hybrid, slowing to a walk so suddenly she nearly stumbled over herself. "What happened? Magic, poison, any non-visible injuries? What?"
Saranu, finally finished with as much of the meal as his stomach would physically allow him to hold back, ignored Piper's question, instead slowly rising to his feet with a wave of nausea that had nothing to do with stuffing himself. His brother was out there. Small, defenseless, young Ryoku had been out there during the battle and he hadn't even thought of him since the roof collapsed. Forgetting the two girls, he forced himself to stand up straight and began to turn around, looking in every direction for any sign of his younger sibling. "Ryoku!! Ryoku, where are you?! Oh no..." Biting his lip in uncharacteristic panic, Saranu looked down at his feet as if hoping he could find some list of survivors on the ground there. Spotting her shoes, he seemed to remember Piper was there and a moment later had grabbed her by the shoulders and bent his head down, staring directly at her face with nothing in his expression to indicate his earlier calm. "Where is he?! Where's my brother?!" There was no way she could have known, no way she would have been able to see the battleground any better than he was, but he wasn't thinking straight-as he so rarely did. He was so anxious he probably would have picked up Tamby and begun to shake her for the answer if he hadn't noticed the red-haired girl first, which was likely a good thing considering he wasn't paying even the slightest attention to his grip.
"It's... over?" Urick's voice sounded metallic through his helmet, muffled slightly to human ears but not to those of his hearing-gifted friend, Jacklyn. "Just like that? They left just like that? I don't know whether to be concerned or relieved, but I'll opt for the second option right now." His breathing was labored, his voice showed obvious signs of strain, and behind his armor he wore a grimace of pain and multiple marks of injury, but the paladin couldn't have been happier. THere had been casualties, but still much fewer than he had expected. Jacklyn was alive, thank God, Chase, Leonor, Brison and the other remaining resistance members will still standing. Kenyon, looking beaten and bloody but wearing a wolfish grin was standing not far away in his wolf form, and even Acton had gotten away from the battle alive. He wasn't too sure how happy he was about the last one, but right then he was so happy he could have pulled the demon into a hug and given him a kiss. Good thing he still had his helmet on in fact, or he might have forgotten himself and done so with Jacky. "Bloody hell, Jacklyn, let's never do this again."
