Niji grinned.
"It's cool that everyone is so accepting of Arabic.
The Nymphs cook? That's really cool! Do you think they know jow to cook middle eastern food? Mr. Dionysis should eat something other then junk food what if he gets sick? Not that I care or anything!" Niji said suddenly. Not that it was bad to care about the Gods and Goddesses or anything as he was sure that they were nice, but they couldn't help, but feel a bit abandoned by their father.
"So what do the Nymphs know how to cook?" Niji asked stopping his fiddling with the helmet and taking his pacifier out of his pocket and putting it in his mouth and biting it.

Jamie Wallace|16|he/him|Iris|Forest|tags:CTF group, Ophelia|Team 1
Jamie watched the sharp exchange between Ophelia and Orin with wide eyes. He at least thought he’d be safe from conflict until the game actually started, he didn’t think there’d be so much tension between teammates. He chewed on his lip subconsciously as they started to discuss the separate jobs and splitting into groups. He was contemplating which group would be in the least trouble, though he figured he could just slip off to the side and try to find a place where he looked like he was being useful, but was out of the way so he wouldn’t be noticed by the opposing team. “I can help with that,” He said to Ophelia when she mentioned taking true guard. If the other team was supposed to go for the fake flag, there’d probably be a lot less trouble by the real one. At least that’s what he assumed.

Augusta Reynolds|17|she/her|Hades|Forest|tags:CTF group|Team 2
Auggie nodded in agreement to the plan that was beginning to form. She had never actually used her powers in a game of capture the flag, at least not to this much of an extent, and she had never fully revealed it to her team. She mostly used her ability to manipulate shadows to mess with people, or get out of situations she didn’t want to be in, but now she was going to be part of getting the other teams flag. She didn’t feel nervous though, her powers seemed to work best when there was high stakes. She glanced around at the team, most of them seemed itching to get out and fight and she felt the same way, though she wouldn’t have admitted to having anything in common with the other demigods. She stayed quiet after her initial contribution, she didn’t see a point in speaking for the sake of speaking, so unless she had something really important to say, she was fine to just listen and try to gauge the abilities of her teammates. However, she was starting to get impatient from standing around and waiting. “Let’s go then, the quicker we get ready the more prepared we’ll be.” She said, her expression still cold and harsh, as if she were taking this a lot more seriously than just a game. Truthfully, she was, Auggie didn’t like to lose and she wasn’t about to let the happen tonight.

if only i could keep you in my pocket
to give me some diagnosis of why i'm so hollow
please give me instructions, i promise i'll follow
i tripped on my ankle and fractured my elbow
but doesn't that mean that the tour's gonna sell, though?
i try to explain the good faith that's been wasted
but after an hour, it sounds like complaining
wait, don't go away, can i lie here forever?
you say that i'm better, why don't i feel better?
the universe works in mysterious ways
but i'm starting to think it ain't working for me
doctor, should i be good, should i be good this year?

xxxxMARIA LUNA BLACK
──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
xxxxage: seventeen, immortal | gender: female | sexuality: asexual biromantic | role: hunter, daughter of
    xxxxhecate
xxxxlocation: forest | mentions: none | tags: team one

xxxx once she had arrived at the camp maria had gone off to find the famed centaur, chiron, and report to him. it wasn't too hard to find the tail horse-man, all one had to do was following the hoof tracks in the snow to where he was. after she had greeted him the old horse told her all he could about the camp's latest problems. a new prophecy had been announced at a meeting this morning, and snow had been falling ever since then. yeah, go figure. anyway, after she had met with chiron maria made her way over to the artemis cabin. pushing the silver doors open the huntress was greeted with a moonlit cabin, though where the moonlight shone from could not be pinpointed. the cabin simply glowed within. it also was empty, bearing no bunks. it was also cold, having not been used in quite some time. no matter, the hunters always came prepared whenever they visited the camp. dropping her bag by the door maria dug out the tools to build a tent. going outside yet again into the snow maria pitched her tent just outside and to the left of the cabin. the tent looked quite small and out of place, being a silver color with a water catcher overtop to prevent the tent from getting wet from rain or snow. inside, however, the tent was bigger and luxurious. warm quilts and pillows lined the floor, a sleeping bag at the far end. there was even a warm fire glowing in the center of the room, offering heat but emitting no smoke or rouge flames. perfect. it honestly didn't take maria long to pitch the tent, it's something she's done thousands of times now. it was all muscle memory for her. however, when she was finished the sun was already setting. she had just missed dinner at the pavilion, and now a conch horn was announcing the start of capture the flag. oh yeah, that's something else chiron had told her about.

xxxx grabbing her silver bow and quiver full of arrows from her tent maria started for the capture the flag game. running speedily through the snow, her silver cloak over her head, maria jumped into the woods to meet up with everyone. nobody knew that she was at camp, at least other than chiron and mr. d she didn't think anyone knew of her presence in camp. reaching the area where everyone was gathered, maria lowered her hood, a smile on her face to see the young campers mingling. there were so many new faces from the last time she had visited. wide eyed newbies to seasoned experts, all of them unknown to her. gosh, how long had it been since she last visited? over a decade at the least. wandering over to chiron she asked him which group she would be joining, the horse-man giving her her answer. "team one? cool!" she thought, breaking up to meet with her team, though, they were already gathered and seem to have formulated a plan. sneaking into the huddle she looked at the unfamiliar places. "hey kids, how's it going? what's the plan?" she asked enthusiastically.

xxxxGWENDOLYN ARABELLA SAUNDERS
──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
xxxxage: seventeen | gender: female | sexuality: bisexual | role: head counselor of khione cabin
xxxxlocation: forest | mentions: none | tags: team two

xxxx the rest of the day went by fairly blandly. there was muttering talk about the snow and what it could mean. the aphrodite cabin allowed campers to raid the communal closet for warm clothing as well. still, tonight was capture the flag. chiron decided the game would still be played, perhaps to lift the spirits of campers? who really knows, the centaur was a man-horse of mystery really. one could never be too sure what is on his mind. after the rest of the day had gone by, and the sun started to dip in the sky, gwendolyn prepared for the game of capture the flag. with it still commencing gwendolyn would put her hardest into the game. within the khione cabin gwen donned her gear. a celestial bronze breastplate to protect her from frontal and back attacks, along with plated armor over her biceps and forearms, ending with fingerless leather gloves. then she wore simple blue jeans and hardy hiking boots so she could easily get through the snow. gwen wasn't really one for weaponry, she much preferred to use her ice magic. so she didn't carry a sword with her, though, a dagger was strapped to her thigh for easy access. grabbing her helmet from off of her bunk gwen left her cabin, starting for the woods where everyone would be meeting up for capture the flag.

xxxx after trudging through the snow gwendolyn finally reached the area in which everyone was meeting for capture the flag. already several cabins were on standby, readying themselves for the game. holding her helmet in the crux of her arm and body she wandered up to the crowd, just in time no matter to hear the teams being announced. it seem she would be on team two. jogging over to where team two was grouping together the teen stood idly by, listening to the conversation between some of the campers. finally she piped in. "seems like we have a plan forming. i'm quick and agile, usually a runner for the flag in this game. but with all of this snow i can use it to my advantage too. i can get campers stuck in some ice, go on the defensive create some trouble for the other team" gwendolyn offered to the chat, a mischievous smile playing at her lips. she nodded along as her half-brother aydan mentioned he could turn into snow and follow the course of the cold wind

xxxxTERRANCE TJ TRACEY
──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
xxxxage: sixteen | gender: male | sexuality: bisexual, male lean | role: oracle, mortal
xxxxlocation: forest | mentions: none | tags: open

xxxx bundled under a long sleeved shirt and two hoodies was little terrance. it was his first day ever at camp and some sort of activity was being held tonight. chiron had said something about capture the flag. terrance imagined it would be like school; everyone was given a belt with little flags attached to it, then you had to run around and steal flags from the others belts and return them to your base, and if the other team took all of your flags you were out, and if the other team got everyone's flags they won. oh was terrance wrong. chiron directed the kid into the woods, which seemed very strange to terrance. shouldn't they use the arena to play capture the flag? the woods are dangerous and people could get hurt! reaching the area in the woods terrance stood by chiron as cabins filtered into the space. there were so many people, and wouldn't more arrive over the course of the summer? he felt hot under all of his layers, there were too many people. when most of the campers had arrived chiron announced the teams, splitting the cabins evenly into two teams. one more thing. why was everyone wearing battle gear? he saw swords, shields, bows and arrows, body armor and even pets clad for war. was capture the flag here really that intense? at first, before he knew it would be a battle, terrance would not of minded joining in, but now he was unsure. not to mention he had no weapons or cool demi-god powers to aid him in this game. standing on the sidelines, anxiously looking between the two teams, terrance watched as battle strategies were planned, though he couldn't hear much about what was being said.

Ophelia Rogers | 16 | She/her | Aphrodite/Cabin 10 | Location: Forest | tags: Team 1/ Flag guard (real), Jamie, open| Mentions: Mira, Orin

Ophelia couldn't help but roll her eyes at the boy, but at Mira's request, she held her tongue. Shoot, I'm already disappointing her. She waited impatiently for him to finish, putting her second knife back into pendant form and tracing the dragon on her shield.
Must've gotten the windbag part from his dad. She thought when he finally shut up.

She eyed a curly haired boy joining her for the flag guard, waiting for the rest of them to gather so they could work out who went where. The cold was already starting to get to her, in spite of her layers, and she wanted to get this over with to return to a warm fire. And being invisible. But that second part would only last for tonight.

She liked that Mira had faith in her, but the idea was scary too. It won't be the same if I fail, she thought, pulling her composure back up as she eyed the flag.
Aphrodite campers were blessed with nothing for battle, but that's where the element of surprise came in. She didn't usually involve herself in her amorkinesis, but if it threw the other campers off to see her in that light, well...
She tensed, steeling herself for whatever may come.

Alex Burns|17|He/him| Aphrodite/Cabin 10| Location: Forest| Tags: Team 1, communications, open | mentions: open

Alex was already on the move, tossing his axe over his shoulder so it connected to his back. In his eyes, it wasn't too important as to who went where, as information came in many ways. He started shuffling toward the border, considering the best place to cross it without getting either shot down, or coated in muddy water.

Although he didn't have many natural talents, it would almost be believeable if he pretended to be lost should anyone come across him, so that's what he planned to do.

Meanwhile, on team 2...

Henry "Hank" Walker|17| He/him | Apollo/Cabin 7| Location: Forest |tags: Team 2, Guard team, Izzy, Juliet, open | mentions: Juliet

Hank frowned at Juliet's sudden enthusiam. He liked how excited she was, but he suspected that there was another reason behind it. But maybe that was just from being on the receiving end of her pranks one too many times.

He eyed her, but let it go. She knows not to maim anyone, he reminded himself.
"Alright, whoever's hiding the flag, set out. Us shooters will take the long way round. Izzy can serve as runner to get us." He tapped his dog.
Though she didn't look like much, Izzy was amazingly smart for a dog. Sometimes Hank even wondered if she could understand every word he said... but that was absurd.
He shook his head to clear his thoughts, and started off into the woods, reflecting the light off his armour away from himself, until he seemed more like a mirage than a human.

Agatha "Aggy" Clemson | 15 | She/her | Unknown (Ares)/Cabin 11| Location: Forest | tags: Team 2, Chaos team, open | Mentions Gwen, Juliet,

Aggy grinned at Auggie's suggestion, having long been raring to go. She pulled her sword out, less distracted by it with the battle at hand.

She looked over at the approach of a girl, who looked like she herself was carved from the surrounding snow. Some of us really took that "god" gene to heart, huh? She mused.

The girl seemed to be working something out with the loud boy, so Aggy ignored them and moved to the source of something more exciting: Juliet.
"So what do you need me to do?" She asked, looking up at the taller girl.

Aiden 025

Postby Kveykva » Wed Dec 23, 2020 10:28 am

    ──── Aiden Seaver
】| Athena Head Counselor | 15 | Male | Medical Tent | Tags: Chuck, Emerson, Niji
𝚐𝚒𝚟𝚎, 𝚋𝚞𝚝 𝚐𝚒𝚟𝚎 𝚞𝚗𝚝𝚒𝚕 𝚒𝚝 𝚑𝚞𝚛𝚝𝚜
Most of the ensuing conversation between Niji and Chuck fell on half-deaf ears, Aiden choosing to tune them out in favor of focusing on his own thoughts, all while refilling the water supply and counting their stock of bandages. He appreciated the level of organization that went into keeping the medical tent nice and tidy during camp events; he'd spent more than his fair share of time within the confines of the canvas outpost. Fighting was great and all, but that itch in the back of his head he inherited from his mother caused him to pursue learning first aid, and he tended to spend a little more time than usual in the medical tent, especially during Capture the Flag. Aiden stifled a chuckle when he overheard the satyr's comment about Mr. D. "The dryads make some of the best food I've had," He said, chiming into the conversation briefly. "Though that could be from how many demigods they cook for on a daily basis. Those Ares campers are bottomless pits, I swear." He added with a chuckle. He noted that they had a nice haul of ambrosia and nectar this time around, offering a silent prayer to Athena that they wouldn't need it tonight.

Rising winds buffeted the tent walls, causing them to bow and groan against the ever-growing blizzard. Aiden considered tying it off to keep out the snow, but he decided against it since it would likely hamper any injured campers trying to get inside. He had a bad feeling about tonight; a really bad feeling. Chuck and Niji, as well as all the other satyrs and campers in the tent, didn't seem worried, and if he said something, the tent's atmosphere might crumble. Instead, he kept his thoughts to himself. "Hey Niji," he asked after a few minutes. "Did you ever find out who your godly parent is? If you got claimed, I uh, I kinda took a tumble in the lake and missed it."

|Mirabelle Everhart|17|She/Her|Aphrodite|Head Counselor|Location: Forest|Tags: Team 1|Team 1|

Mirabelle nodded at Orin's reassurance, though her gaze retained some trepidation. Ophelia further provided comfort - albeit unwittingly - by ceasing her snarky remarks. There was a time and place for that, but planning strategies for Capture the Flag was neither of those. "Right. Let's set out," she suggested. "It looks like the other team is just about ready." Her grey-blue eyes flickered over to the other group. They definitely seemed to be wrapping things up, at least from what she could see. She could also make out the equine figure of Chiron watching from a ways off, most likely to see when the teams would head off into the forest. She knew from experience that he would blow a hunting horn when everyone had set off, to signal the people at the medical tent that the game had officially started.
Alright, Mirabelle, focus, she reminded herself. Given the array of cabins on the opposite team, she reckoned that they would put their flag somewhere difficult to get to. Somewhere visible, but well-defended. First, she'd have to ford the river, of course - which was a whole other problem. I'll have to find somewhere shallow to cross over. Even just wading through water could be incredibly risky, and not just because they had the Poseidon and Khione cabins on the opposite teams. Hypothermia was not something Mirabelle wanted to deal with before setting off on a quest. She was already pretty cold as is. Speaking of, had the snowfall thickened, or was it just her imagination? No, she quickly realised. It's coming down harder. Not by much, but significant enough for her to notice. Not only that, but the winds had picked up some. She was very thankful she'd dressed warmly under her armour.

|Juliet Pratten|16|She/Her|Hermes|Location: Forest|Tags: Team 2|Team 2|

Juliet shrugged at Tielo's question. "I thought miss sunshine over there was gonna have her fox do it or something," she snorted, gesturing to Valkeri. "Chuck told me once that foxes can climb trees, I think? But with all that heavy armour, who knows if she'll be able to get up there? She's not gonna be all that quick if you ask me." She cast a smirk at Valkeri, giving her a sorry-not-sorry look.
When Aggy approached her, she blinked a few times in surprise. It wasn't often that campers asked her for advice or direction. She could have some fun with it... but she decided not to pull Aggy's leg this time. They were on the same team, after all. "So, Ags, wanna help me out with my prank-defence-distraction combo?" she grinned. "I promise you'll get to beat people up. It'll be fun!"

|Chuck Oakes|He/Him|Satyr|Location: Medical Tent|Tags: Aiden, Emerson, Niji|

"Yeah, like, we get folks from all over," Chuck replied. "Lots of different cultures and stuff, you know?" When Niji asked about middle eastern food, his stomach growled quietly yet audibly. "Uh, the dryads mainly cook barbecue, at least for dinner," he elaborated, adding on to Aiden's explanation. "But like, there's also cheese, grapes, apples, strawberries, and bread pretty much all the time. Everything here's pretty healthy, for the most part." Chuck couldn't help but laugh as Niji mentioned Mr. D's health. "Like, he's a god, I don't think he can even like, get sick," the satyr explained. Demigods, on the other hand... well, they weren't as infallible. The swirling winds howled outside the tent, and Chuck shivered reflexively. Man, I hope everyone's gonna be okay. It was pretty cool of Chiron to continue the game, most likely for morale purposes. Risky, but cool. That being said, it sounded like the conditions were only worsening outside. Not only did the campers have ice-related injuries to worry about, but if anyone got caught out there for too long, hypothermia could be a potential issue as well. Chuck almost didn't realise that Aiden had started talking again, but luckily his query seemed directed towards Niji.

with the plan formed, teilo rubbed his hands together. whether this was a result of joy from the scheme or simply a defense against the bitter cold was uncertain, but it fit in both contexts rather well. he nodded at augusta as she spoke, pursing his lips together. this wasn't just preparation anymore. they were actually going to do something. they were putting it into action - he didn't know if he was ready for it, in all honesty. the pocketwatch was practically burning a hole in the skin of his palm, begging to be put into action.

how did one even use a scythe? was it even a real weapon? it seemed a strange gift, if it was one. he flipped it over, stashed it in his pocket, and straightened a tad. if it came to combat, hand-to-hand, he was not averse to that. yes, he was borderline repulsed by the gentle touches of those he considered strangers, but when it came down to it, his past was a pleasant weapon. it all boiled down, in his mind, to the countless hours he had spent trying to prove some semblance of masculinity within the confines of a rugby field, mastering a technique of tackling and 'disarming', as it were, his opposing teams. he knew team games well. if he saw the flag as a ball, then he was sorted. golden, as a matter of fact.

teilo's eyes drifted toward gwendolyn as she spoke. "if me and..." he waved in the direction of augusta, unsure of her name and notably embarrassed. "you could come with. we'll need to find the flag before we nab it. if one of us get it, we could pass it to you. you could start the run." his eyes drifted to augusta. "are we good to go?"

orin caught every disparaging look, every eye roll, and somehow, with the thickest of skin, still kept the smile on. it was not to be taken seriously. he wasn't sure if ophelia was threatened by him, by his confidence, or whether it was simply a case of disdain. neither mattered - neither bothered him enough to impede his path to victory. unshakeable, that was him. he glanced toward maria once she appeared and grinned, wide and sharky. "two defenses. one true, one false, but the false is an obvious one. the one they're gonna go for while we bluff 'em, take theirs from under their noses. i'm on false. i can stall for my life." he stretched, as though that was an accomplishment, and took her in.

"it could be useful having you on my end, you know," he said. "they'll probably go toward wherever the arrows are coming from. if we fake a very intense defense, then..." his head shook from side to side, nervous energy peaking. "well. they're going to follow the scent, right?"

he'd always been impressed by the hunteresses. they were a thing of legend to him, to be appreciated and respected for their grandeur and their power. they had willpower that he wasn't sure he would ever have, bravery that was unrivalled. as a result of all of this, he turned down the arrogance just a smidge. enough for it to count. "if you'd like. i'm gonna - you know. off go." alex had already left, formations were starting, and there was no time like the present. he span the dagger in his hand, twisted on his foot, and belted it toward the rock formation, careful of ice patches and offensively obtrusive tree roots. he wanted this to work very badly. if not for the glee of victory, for the confirmation that a plan that he had concocted was actually useful.

Niji looked out towards the tent door. Why hadn't they called it off?

"This wind doesnt seem... natural." Niji said aloud.

"He still should eat healthier."

Niji looked up at Aiden "Dionysis did actually."
Niji donned on a fake stern look. "Now why were you teasing the Naiads?" They asked with a grin.
