Coping was becoming harder and harder as the weight of the world seemed to come crashing down upon me. As much as I detested showing any weakness, I no longer had a firm hold on my emotions. A shudder ran through my body and I shook with silent sobs thankful for the coverage of my wings. How could he say that we were ok? Nothing was ok anymore. Jay was out of commission as was Ren. Riley was missing and it was a miracle in itself that the flock was even together. There was too much going on and after so many years of holding in pain and hiding it away, the dam was breaking and I could do little to stop it.

Ren shivered when he heard the sobs and sat up straight. He saw Jinx and his gaze softened slightly. The teen slid his hand up the wall and wobbled to his feet, limping over to where she was sitting with Hiro. "Hey." He said quietly.

The moment I realized that someone other than Hiro was seeing me at my lowest, the tears stopped flowing and my forlorn expression was replaced with one of fury. Baring fangs I hissed and growled trying to act as if I were totally fine and a bit agitated. "Leave me alone!" Being angry was the easiest way to push others away and I could only hope that it would work in this case too.

Ren frowned slightly but leaned against the wall beside her anyways. "Quit it with the tough girl act." He muttered, cradling his side with his arm. "You need just as much help as the rest of us." Ren looked at her wounds and figured she'd need some bandages.

Hiro's eyes drooped and their conversation somehow lulled him to sleep. Almost immediately, he started dreaming of the past, at their old house. They seemed so...normal back then. Almost like they weren't a flock of avian hybrids with slight temperamental issues. Outside the dream, his face flushed from happiness, and you could almost see a hint of a smile cross his lips.
