She pushed a bit closer and searches for any impurities in the shell that protected it, she found a few here and there but they weren't big enough for her to get in. She withdrew her mind and sighed, "I think I will have another go later. There is to much that has to be done right now."

Quaint smiled, his eyes twinkling. Well, then missy. Now we wait and hope my little plan works. He sat a few meters back from the watch and waited.

Vesta nodded and sat back with him, Ametye slithering up to sit behind them. Vesta swigged and leaned on Ametye, Watchin the patch of ground and the watch.

Quaint leaned forward suddenly, the charm he'd placed around the camp had been tripped. But by what? The shadow or something else? It's here. He said watching the watch keenly, he had to be very precise. One wrong move and they were all dead.

whys wrong? Vesta asked, sitting up. She opened her mind a little, then drew back, wary of the animals and the shadows around.

Stay in your head. He hissed. It was the shadow, he could sense it watching them. The back of his neck prickled and he longed to turn around and see it. Yet he had to watch the watch.
The shadow prowled the clearing attempting to pounce on their backs, frustrated it circled the warm bodies testing the invisible charm holding it back, seeking a way in.

Vesta shielded we mind even more, concentrating on the watch. The only thing she could sense now was Ametye, his strength adding to the barriers around her mind. She listened closely, hearing the trees whisper with a bone chilling breeze.

Finally it discover a break, the tiniest of holes in the fabric of the spell. Triumphantly the shadow surged through, his hunger growing by the second.
Quaint nudged Vesta as he spied the wolf like shadow slinking towards them, inching closer to the watch. Get ready to run, if anything happens leave me.
