Doc - Tag: Sheriff
Doc sighed as he heard Sheriff mention about possibly being used as a hostage. "That was one of the reasons I was not allowed to tell." He admitted before he smirked at his friend's grin. "Let me tell you, I'm just glad I lived period." The younger car chuckled a bit before he became serious. "Sheriff...I really could have died that day. I was prepared for it, even if I didn't want to. I only lived because the FBI saved my life..." Here he trailed off a bit before continuing. "I spent at least a week comatose while they repaired the damage. When I woke up, a week had passed and I couldn't recall much of anything about the attack save for what little I could recall and what the FBI told me. I wanted to let everyone back home know I was still alive, mainly you and Lightning. But the agency insisted that I remain hidden because you guys could have been put in danger because of it. That was what kept me from contacting you. After that, I was told I was needed in the FBI because I knew some things about the attack and it would be in my best interest to help them with the case. I agreed, but only because I had no choice. I saw everything with that Allinol scandal while I was getting trained. Of course, with my training incomplete, I could not go and help you guys, so I had to remain behind in the States until it was over."
Doc shivered at the thought of losing Lightning. "I nearly lost the kid..." He rasped before he regained himself and looked back at the cruiser. "That does bring up a question though. Just how did Lightning survive that beam? I know it hit him, but why didn't he suffer the same fate as the other racers?" He hoped Sheriff knew the answer to that question.
Shinn - Tag: Skipper
Shinn winced at the lecture from the older plane. "I know I made a mistake! I was just out of boot camp at the time! I was only two days into my service at the time! And my friend was only three days out of boot camp! I know I made a big mistake! I got demotion for it! I was nearly court-martialed! I only stayed in because of the fact that I have stealth plane qualities! I was yanked from front line service because of that mistake! You think I wanted to be? No! I didn't!" Then, Shinn sighed. "Sorry. My MIG temper got the better of me there. But you're right. I should have obeyed orders. I swore to never make that mistake again. That's why I still fly with the Navy. I want to prevent others from doing the same thing I did. That's why I have pushed myself to become a better soldier, and why I stay away from front line combat. I only do scouting missions now, and I would rather do those than attack directly."
A yawn escaped the MIG mix as well. "And some sleep does sound good..." He added with a slurr to his voice before he began to head to the nearest place to stay for the night.
