Zoro panicked and his hands scraped across a stone, only to fin his shades were missing. He's have to wear his brothers stupid spare glasses if he couldn't find them soon enough. Lucky Erissa had asked a seal to train him with the sniffing and sensing your surroundings in the water. He guessed he could apply that to out of water situations! So Zoro just began to stumble around blindly, crawling on his hands and knees, sniffing.
