"No, I don't." Aden answered. "I know I can." he sent shadows forth that materialized into wraiths that trailed their shadowy fingers along the hunters arms'. The shadow creatures crept up their backs, bringing a cold chill and a dark feeling of emptiness.

Iba was back to silence when she was thrown down. Her side rang with pain from the fall, but she pressed into Nyx. She was terrified beyond belief, everything about her reeked fear. She tried to speak again, but couldn't form words.

Nyx hurt everywhere, mostly her stomach and rib cage area. She slowly got to her feet and picked up Iba. She walked away from the hunters and Aden not wanting to get in the way.

The hunters growled. The taller man reached into his jacket and pulled out a small knife and flung it at him.

Aden grunted and slouched forward slightly when the knife dug into his shoulder. Luckily, he grew up on the streets, he was no stranger to taking a few knives. He gripped the hilt of the blade and pulled it out of his shoulder. "Thanks for the weapon, buddy." he cracked a mad smile. He twitched his fingers and the shadows formed into a large shadowy monster. "Let's dance." he charged forward, slashing the knife at the taller of the two hunters. Bear charged with Aden, biting down on the first thing he saw, which happened to be the opposite hunter's leg.

Iba hid her face in her hands as she heard the sounds of the fight. "A-are we going to be okay?" she stammered.

Nyx looked away from the sight. "I don't know" was all she could say. Whenever she had met a hunter someone around her had died. She sighed. If anyone died she hoped it would be her and not Aden or Iba.

The knife caught the man's arm. He snarled in pain. "You idiot!" he said before lunging at him. The other hunter
growled. He reached down to grap Bear.

Iba didn't like the uncertainty of Nyx's answer. She hadn't encountered much of hunters before, even if she had, they had simply hid, not tried to fight. She gave in to sobs and wept into her hands. Though the child was strong, she was still a child, fear got to her more than anything.

Aden ducked away from the hunter to avoid being tackled. He quickly brought up his leg and aimed a kick at the hunter's head. "Leave here now!" he commanded.

Bear thrashed against the hunter, beating his hard skull against the man's chest as he growled and snarled. He snapped at the air around the human, trying to get free.

Nyx closed her eyes to fight the tears. She wouldn't let hunters make her break down and cry. She looked over at Aden and the hunters. She watched to see if he needed help. She didn't think he would but she watched anyway.

The tall hunter fell backwards as Aden's knee contacted with his head. He slowly stood and took out another knife this time longer. He lunged at Aden aiming the knife for his heart.

The other hunter tossed Bear to the ground. "I really don't like this dog"

Nyx saw the knife. She jumped to her feet ready to get in the way of the blade if Aden couldn't block it.

Aden only had one option at that point. He grabbed the knife by the blade, pushing against it with all of his strength. The harder he fought, the further the blade dug into his hand. He lifted the knife he had managed to get and extended it out to the hunter's throat, all the while trying to push away the blade that threatened himself.

Bear snarled but let out a pained whimper when he crashed to the ground. A snap sounded from somewhere in his body and he found it near impossible to stand. When he tried to move, pain shot through his body and kept him grounded.

Iba stayed still, she could hear what was going on and her vampire senses alerted her to the scent of blood. "Stop it!" she screamed out finally. "Stop fighting!" she pleaded.

The hunters ignored Iba. The tall man pushed the blade closer to Aden with one hand and tried to keep the other one away from him with the other hand.

The other hunter smiled when he saw the dog unable to stand. He turned to Aden. He gripped a knife of his own. He lunged at Aden thinking he could easily kill him.

Nyx watched the man lunge at Aden. She quickly sprinted towards them. She was light and fast on her feet and her cat part made her faster. She slid to a stop between Aden and the shorter hunter's blade just as the hunter pushed iy forward trying to get Aden. Seeing Nyx step in the way had thrown the hunter off so instead of the blade stabbing her heart it plunged itself into her side.

Aden clenched his teeth, his hand and arm were weakening and he could tell he was losing the struggle. The knife inched closer to his own heart as his head threatened to go limp from pain. A split second decision led him to animate Bear's shadow. The dog's shadowy apparition leapt at the hunter near Aden, biting on his arm. A second shadow dog appeared and went after the other hunter.

Iba buried her face in her lap, covering her ears with her hands. She whispered words to herself, pleas to make the fighting stop, to make the pain and fear leave.

Nyx gritted her teeth to keep from screaming in pain. She grabbed the hilt of the knife and slowly pulled it from her side. She took a step towards the hunter. the now bloody knife was pointed straight at him. She had to concentrate really hard to keep herself from falling to the ground from the pain. She took a deep breath and slashed the knife towards the hunter. It managed to cut deep into his cheek.

The hunter was a little angered. He had stabbed the girl yet she still stood. He took.a step back, his hand flew to his face as the blade sliced into it. He jumped back as the dog shadow attacked him."Come on. Lets go. We can come back another day."

The other hunter continued to push. He ignored his companion for a minute before giving up. He couldn't fight the shadow and boy at the same time. He backed up and let go of the blades. "When I come back you're dead" he said.
