Bilbo nodded, relief flooding every fiber of his being. He was going home. He could keep the ring. Kili would help him, and he'd have a familiar face by his side the whole time, rather than these unfamiliar and unearthly Elves. "Thank you, Kili," he murmured, rubbing his fingers on the smooth gold of the small circle of metal in his pocket. He weighed it in his hand, closed his fingers over it, and turned around to help Tauriel inform the others.
As fate would have it, the Hobbit turned around, took a single step forward, and tripped on a root. He let out a strangled gasp, and for a moment there, it sounded like he and the ring were crying out in unison. The precious thing flew from his grasp and nestled itself in the grassy mud. Somehow, even in the dirt, it managed to gleam as brightly as it ever did. "NO!" he yelped desperately, then regretted his outburst. He felt several pairs of eyes on him, and he squirmed uncomfortably for a few moments before scrambling forward and stretching his arm towards the ring, which was
just out of reach.

Tauriel turned around to face Kili, who seemed to be done speaking with Master Baggins. "Yes, Kili?" she responded when he called her name, curious to discover what they had been discussing. She took a few steps towards the Dwarf, then stopped cold when she heard a yell. She blinked, and a troubled expression passed over her features. Although she was confused, she felt a sense of absolute dread over her heart, like an ominous storm about to break. Celeborn's eyes widened, and time seemed to stand still

"Wonderful!" Mila replied, giving him a once-over. "Pleasure to meet you, Aslaf. I'm Mila." she gave him a brief bow, then brushed some wily black hair out of her face. "Do you think--" she paused, briefly glimpsing the odd Hobbit who seemed to have tripped, but shrugging it off disinterestedly and turning back to Aslaf. "Are there Orcs after you? I've heard that Sauron is a nasty fellow."
