As I take my dagger back, having it landed in almost the exact same place and me being much further back, I notice three tributes; the girl from district 7, the girl from district 11, and.... A career? The boy from district 2 is running with them, not to us, but straight to the rocky wall of the canyon. I look at them, puzzled at what they could be possibly running away from at this early on in the games. My question, however, is answered very quickly. I see a shimmering brown mass at the forest line, I can't make out what the squirming animal is for a couple seconds, then I realize three things at once: They're squirrels, I need to get away, and they're eating everything. I fight down the panic and take the important supplies, like the water purifiers, the food and my weapons and put them at the top of the cornucopia horn before climbing onto it myself. The other careers with me will notice and bring the other important things up here too, unless they decide to make a run for the cave. The animals are coming in fast. I look to where the three ran, they managed to get to a cave in time. I'm not sure whether that's good or bad... Most of the squirrels are going for those three, not me. But there's so many of them, it'd be hard to miss me. They start climbing the cornucopia, they're good climbers. I defend the horn as best I can, they keep slipping on their own and knocking down the others, but some are making it up. I take my throwing axe and swipe at the sides of the horn, knocking the closest ones away. I do the same for the other side, and rotate between them. A couple make it up, but I get out my dagger and attempt to knock them down with my foot. One latched on and bit me. It was a hard bite, but I resist the pain. I stab the thing with my dagger and kick it away from me as I swipe some more squirrels with my axe. This is serious multi-tasking and I don't know how long I'll keep it up for. These better go away soon.

Atlas watched Sophia climbing the cornucopia, fending off squirrels. He sat back on the far wall of the cave and fingered his district token, a simple black stone ring. It fit snugly on his left middle finger, and he flicked it, resulting in dull clicks. He thought back to the day his mother gave him the ring...

Her bright blue eyes are shining with tears, and Atlas brushes them away with his thumb. The Peacekeepers will come for her soon, and he will be on his way to the Capitol. "Mom." he says, his voice cracking, "I'll be fine." she strokes his hair, like she did when he was a child. "I know, honey." she reaches into her pocket. "Just...take this." she holds it out to Atlas, a simple black stone ring, with faint blood stains from an abusive past. He fingers it, and slips it on his middle finger. "It was your fathers." she looks down, wiping the tears from her face. Atlas fights off the tears, and clenches his hand into a fist. He will return home. Atlas pulls her into one last embrace, and the Peacekeepers come and shove him into the train.

((Well, Atlas joined up with Bella and Kiandra to hunt down the 12 year olds. A huge mass of killer squirrels chased them into a cave. Sophia is on top of the Cornucopia, fending off the squirrels.))

Sierra laid calmly in her tree. She looked at the moonless sky and sighed. She knew she didnt have any allies, she didnt even know who the other District 12 tribute was. She had so many things running through her mind it was unbelievable. Sierra remembered earlier when the two male careers had let her live. Hmph. As she thought this she sighed once again but in relief this time. She was happy she hadnt died. She could have sworn that the others would have been completley ruthless to her. She lopsidedly smiled and then dropped it automatially. She put her hands behind her head, even though her arm was still stinging from the cut from earlier. She slowly fell asleep.

She didnt get that much rest. A couple of minutes later she her a lot of commotion coming from below her. She peeked open one of her eyes. A mutt running around. ~Where did they come from?~ she thought to herself. She tried not to make a move so the dogs wouldnt notice her there. She just watched silently as the dogs ran past. She could hear their paws hitting the hard, cold ground. She cringed a little bit, imagining being attacked. Her heart raced as the wild mutts got closer.

Sierra looked down slowly. She could hear mutts running and growling around her. ~Thank Gosh, I'm in this tree.~ She said and sighed.

Atlas tensed, hearing a sound other than the mutts. He pushed off from the wall of the cave, taking his bow off his back and notching an arrow. He peered outside. The squirrel mutts had moved on, but he could see things slithering out of the other caves. He peered into the darkening arena, scanning the canyon.
There.
Moving swiftly through the trees, he saw his District partner, he forgot what her name was. She hadn't joined with the Careers. That made her not his ally, an enemy.
"I'll be back in a minute." he said over his shoulder to Bella and Kiandra. Moving stealthily through the thickening shadows, he walked up behind the District 2 girl. Without batting an eyelash, he shot an arrow into her back, right between her shoulder blades.
He looked down at her body, waiting for the cannon to sound.
