I sighed. It was so... boring today. I looked around the small living room of the little house I shared with my brother. It was kind of dark due to the closed curtains, but the light filtering through was nice. I was curled up in a small sunbeam in my eyrie form, enjoying the sunbeam. On a sudden decision, I stood up and ran into the little kitchen, skidding slightly on the old tiles. I shifted in under a second and stood up.

"Hey, Ray? Wanna go, like, do something? Like take a walk in the woods or something? It's so nice out... Maybe when it gets dark we could go for a flight, too!" I was wearing some jean capris with a few holes, a blue t-shirt that said "Yeah, So What?" in bright pink letters, and old beat-up converse. On my left arm was my normal chain bracelet and my standard chain choker was on my neck. Both remained on regardless of my form.

As my sister skidded into the kitchen, I laughed and set down the book I was reading. For the 3rd time I was reading Silence of the Lambs and was just getting to the part where Starling was meeting Lecter for the first time. "Oh, the woods? I suppose so. I can stretch and get in a walk." I stood up and smiled. At least me and my sister didn't have to hide. On the outside we looked normal to the untrained eye.

(Heya everybody, I switch between 1st person and 3rd person perspective throughout rps. This one just happens to be 1st person. You guys don't have to write in 1st person if you don't want to, it's just I have a stronger suit in wirting in first person.)

Paris hung upside down in a tree in the woods. He had become bored, as he often did, but this time he was 'out of my mind' bored.

Cady sat outside the small house she was currently stationed at, listening intently to the argument inside. Her foster parents, Ed and Nancy, were screaming about money. It didn't take much to guess why; anyone could tell that though they wanted to help, the two simply could not afford another mouth to feed. She badly wanted to tell the two she could take care of herself, but didn't have the heart to reject their help. "Mom, Dad," she murmured in her naturally low, soothing voice as she walked inside. "Please, don't fight. I'll be out soon." Without waiting for their answer, she simply padded to her bedroom and shut the door, packing her few meager belongings into a bag that was already ready to pick up and leave with anyways.

Davey, a tall brunette, sat in a tree in the forest away from town as he waited for that rabbit to come just a little bit closer. He didn't feel bad about killing it for food; after all, he would be eating it eventually. He tuned out all hte other little chittering in his head, frowning in concentration as he narrowed his eyes on the rabbit. Slowly, he pulled back the string of his bow, letting it go quickly so that it was a loud Twang! sound. He nodded to himself as he hopped down, admiring the clean kill. "Supper," he murmured to himself, nodding a bit again.

I walked alone. Just like I always did, just like I always had, just like I always would. This was a big world full of people -- but not quite big enough or full enough for me. No one was like me, no one ever would be. I was alone in the universe, and I knew that fully well. I've known that since I died. Yes, I do mean died. My family's car blew up and well. . . to make a long story short, I died in the car and now I'm in a new body. I look different, sound different, think different. . . I'm an entirely new person than I would've been if I hadn't died in that car. Complicated, I know, but helpful nonetheless. I weaved myself in and out among the shadows of the massive trees. The air around me was cold and refreshing, and the sound of my hearts beating was the only thing that could be heard near myself. Oh, and about the whole "hearts" thing, yeah, I've got two hearts. So yeah. I look completely and utterly human but I'm much more than that. And much smarter than that, might I add. I was stepping on the leaves, my footsteps weightless and soundless as I gazed at the beautiful scenery around me. I took in a quick breath and flung a hasty look over my shoulder. You never know when there's a hunter behind you. They're deadly silent and. . . well, never mind that. Let's just say being able to view everything that is, was, that will be, or ever could be is pretty useful right before being attacked. Sorta like precognitive senses. Anyways, I was having a perfectly wonderful time, who says I need to think about that? The sun was shining with a golden halo around it's burning yellow face, casting rings of warmth down onto the earth I walked on. As I walked, though, I noticed a massive dark spot out of the corner of my eye. Turning my gaze towards it, I realized that it was. . . a house. A large, dark, oblique structure standing out in the middle of a forest. I'll admit it -- my curiosity was peaked. Turning slowly towards the house, my hearts beating quickly and somewhat nervously, I paced myself steadily so as not to make too much noise on approaching. There could be anything inside it. Anything; hunters, other people. But as I neared it, I felt. . . safe. It was like it was calling to me. As my toes were not an inch from the steps leading up to the door, the call got stronger. Go in. Go in. Stepping bravely and calmly, I opened the door and I found absolutely nothing. It was empty, save some mostly intact furniture, some lights that were fading, looking relatively dim, but no more. I was alone. I listened closely, just to make sure, and I stepped inside. My footsteps on the wooden floor creaked lightly, and I brushed some of my rich chocolate brown hair out of my eyes. In hopes of finding something, anything to eat, after having not eaten for a few days, I moved towards the refrigerator. Upon opening it, I found that it was actually rather full, stocked up to the brim. My violet eyes widened, and I grabbed a loaf of bread, some butter, and some peanut butter and made a sandwich. I wolfed it down hungrily and sank into a chair. I'd admit it easily; it felt good. Eating, being under some sort of roof. Yeah, I hadn't had this luxury for quite some time. I walked over to a couch after I'd had my fill and lay there for awhile, staring at the high ceiling with the dim golden lights for a long time. I felt sincerely at home.
