Sophie flashed a friendly grin and shrugged helplessly. "You look about as lost as I am, and the comment kind of sealed the deal. Sorry, I didn't mean to eavesdrop," she apologized with a sheepish look. It was a bad habit she had picked up as a child, living with five older siblings. Being the smallest and youngest, she had used her gather information from eavesdropping to use against her siblings whenever they tried to pick on her and it usually got them to back right off... but breaking the habit was proving difficult. Old habits die hard. "It's nice to meet you, Caitlyn. As I said, I'm Sophie and this is my partner, Ezra," she reached up to scratch the murkrow affectionately under his chin. His feathers ruffled in delight, but when she dropped her hand the bird pokemon shot the unknown trainer an unfriendly glare. It didn't slip his trainer's notice and she shot him a disapproving look before explaining, "he isn't the friendliest with strangers. I think it's a Murkrow thing... but it could just as easily be an Ezra thing," she said. Ezra turned his glare on her, clearly offended, but she ignored his lack of manners in favor of listening to the other girl explain her reasoning for being here. it would be nice to team up with one or two other people to start investigating the Clones and she wondered if this girl might be opening to joining her and Eureka, wherever her cousin had gotten off to. "I totally understand. To be honest, I worked so hard to be part of the Elite Four, but once I got it, I felt trapped and stifled. I missed traveling and training with my Pokemon out in the real world, so I decided to take a break and come check out the situation here," she explained with a wave of her hand to encompass the city. "My cousin, Eureka, is with me but I have no clue where she got off too," she added with a roll of her eyes. Likely she would have to send Ezra up to find the girl but they weren't going anywhere yet.

Isabella Rosewood had been in Acrea for about two weeks now. She hadn't even come to help with their clone problem, learning about the issue only after she had arrived in the beautiful region. No, Bella had actually come here to shoot a series of Promos in preparation of the upcoming Kalos Queen Competition. Having defended her title for three years now, the girl was well-prepared to defend the title for the fourth year running and the beautiful Acrea Region seemed like the perfect place to shoot her promos. Now that she was here, however, Bella didn't want to leave quite yet. The issue with the clones intrigued her. Despite her youth and her focus on the Coordination side of things, Bella was a skilled trainer and her Pokemon, despite all being in their earliest stages of evolution, were powerful and adept fighters. It would be interesting to stick around and see if she could help at least a little bit. Right now though, it seemed like she was the one that needed help. The day had started off ordinarily enough, with her wandering through Violetport for a few hours before she decided it was time to move on with her exploration. Unfortunately, the day had taken a turn for the worse when Sparky, her spiky eared Pichu, escaped her Pokeball and took off. Sparky was a loyal Pokemon and she always came back; she was just a prankster and liked to worry her trainer. But Sparky didn't know the area and could easily get lost or worse, picked up by poachers... which led her to now, searching along the road outside of Violetport in a desperate attempt to find the mischievous pokemon, with her partner Poochie, a Poochyena, attempting to sniff the sneaky electric type out. So far, they hadn't had much luck and Bella was near tears as she searched the tall grass at the side of the road, unaware that Sparky was watching on, hidden in the leaves of a nearby tree.
Apparently growing bored of just hiding, Sparky leaped deftly from the tree and landed a short distance behind where Bella and Poochie were searching. The Pichu snickered, watching on in amusement until Poochie happened to glance over his shoulder. The Poochyena did a doubletake and growled at her, causing Bella to turn as well. "Sparky, there you are! Come on, get back in your Pokeball," her trainer scolded, pulling out the luxury ball. Sparky deftly dodged the red beam that shot out and would have sucked her back into the confines of her ball once, twice, three times before getting an exasperated look from her trainer. Snickering, the tiny electric type spun around and raced off, back towards Violetport City. Bella groaned in protest, while Poochie yapped in annoyance, and once again the pair gave chase, struggling to keep the speedy Pichu within their line of sights so that they didn't lose her. Before long, Bella found herself back in Violetport among the thinning crowd of trainers who had come from far and wide to help out with the whole Clone issue. Suddenly, Sparky veered towards the venue that had housed the debriefing. Bella shouted at her to slow down, fearful the tiny Pokemon would slam full speed into the glass, but the door swung open at the last minute. Unfortunately, that also meant someone was walking out and, unable to slow herself in time, the Pichu slammed full speed into the blonde's leg before bouncing back, thoroughly dazed.
"Sparky!" Bella cried, racing up to the boy and the dazed Pichu and scooping her up in her arms. "Are you okay!? I told you to stop running off like that. You could get really hurt," she scolded before shooting a glance at the boy. He was short, several inches shorter than she was, and had a child-like quality to his face. That was good. She was better with kids than she was with people her age. She always got tongue-tied and nervous when talking to her peers. "Hey, u-um... a-are you o-okay? Sparky is a b-bit rambunctious so I'm sorry if she caused any harm," she apologized softly.
