    [ feeling: curious, excited ] [ word count: 362 words ]

Sophie flashed a friendly grin and shrugged helplessly. "You look about as lost as I am, and the comment kind of sealed the deal. Sorry, I didn't mean to eavesdrop," she apologized with a sheepish look. It was a bad habit she had picked up as a child, living with five older siblings. Being the smallest and youngest, she had used her gather information from eavesdropping to use against her siblings whenever they tried to pick on her and it usually got them to back right off... but breaking the habit was proving difficult. Old habits die hard. "It's nice to meet you, Caitlyn. As I said, I'm Sophie and this is my partner, Ezra," she reached up to scratch the murkrow affectionately under his chin. His feathers ruffled in delight, but when she dropped her hand the bird pokemon shot the unknown trainer an unfriendly glare. It didn't slip his trainer's notice and she shot him a disapproving look before explaining, "he isn't the friendliest with strangers. I think it's a Murkrow thing... but it could just as easily be an Ezra thing," she said. Ezra turned his glare on her, clearly offended, but she ignored his lack of manners in favor of listening to the other girl explain her reasoning for being here. it would be nice to team up with one or two other people to start investigating the Clones and she wondered if this girl might be opening to joining her and Eureka, wherever her cousin had gotten off to. "I totally understand. To be honest, I worked so hard to be part of the Elite Four, but once I got it, I felt trapped and stifled. I missed traveling and training with my Pokemon out in the real world, so I decided to take a break and come check out the situation here," she explained with a wave of her hand to encompass the city. "My cousin, Eureka, is with me but I have no clue where she got off too," she added with a roll of her eyes. Likely she would have to send Ezra up to find the girl but they weren't going anywhere yet.

    ISABELLA ROSEWOOD

    ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
    [ 19 yrs old ] [ female ] [ located: Just Outside Violetport City ] [ tagged: Felix, Open ] [ active pokemon; Poochie, Poochyena &
Sparky, Spiky Eared Pichu ] [ feeling: annoyed, worried ] [ word count: 693 words ]

Isabella Rosewood had been in Acrea for about two weeks now. She hadn't even come to help with their clone problem, learning about the issue only after she had arrived in the beautiful region. No, Bella had actually come here to shoot a series of Promos in preparation of the upcoming Kalos Queen Competition. Having defended her title for three years now, the girl was well-prepared to defend the title for the fourth year running and the beautiful Acrea Region seemed like the perfect place to shoot her promos. Now that she was here, however, Bella didn't want to leave quite yet. The issue with the clones intrigued her. Despite her youth and her focus on the Coordination side of things, Bella was a skilled trainer and her Pokemon, despite all being in their earliest stages of evolution, were powerful and adept fighters. It would be interesting to stick around and see if she could help at least a little bit. Right now though, it seemed like she was the one that needed help. The day had started off ordinarily enough, with her wandering through Violetport for a few hours before she decided it was time to move on with her exploration. Unfortunately, the day had taken a turn for the worse when Sparky, her spiky eared Pichu, escaped her Pokeball and took off. Sparky was a loyal Pokemon and she always came back; she was just a prankster and liked to worry her trainer. But Sparky didn't know the area and could easily get lost or worse, picked up by poachers... which led her to now, searching along the road outside of Violetport in a desperate attempt to find the mischievous pokemon, with her partner Poochie, a Poochyena, attempting to sniff the sneaky electric type out. So far, they hadn't had much luck and Bella was near tears as she searched the tall grass at the side of the road, unaware that Sparky was watching on, hidden in the leaves of a nearby tree.

Apparently growing bored of just hiding, Sparky leaped deftly from the tree and landed a short distance behind where Bella and Poochie were searching. The Pichu snickered, watching on in amusement until Poochie happened to glance over his shoulder. The Poochyena did a doubletake and growled at her, causing Bella to turn as well. "Sparky, there you are! Come on, get back in your Pokeball," her trainer scolded, pulling out the luxury ball. Sparky deftly dodged the red beam that shot out and would have sucked her back into the confines of her ball once, twice, three times before getting an exasperated look from her trainer. Snickering, the tiny electric type spun around and raced off, back towards Violetport City. Bella groaned in protest, while Poochie yapped in annoyance, and once again the pair gave chase, struggling to keep the speedy Pichu within their line of sights so that they didn't lose her. Before long, Bella found herself back in Violetport among the thinning crowd of trainers who had come from far and wide to help out with the whole Clone issue. Suddenly, Sparky veered towards the venue that had housed the debriefing. Bella shouted at her to slow down, fearful the tiny Pokemon would slam full speed into the glass, but the door swung open at the last minute. Unfortunately, that also meant someone was walking out and, unable to slow herself in time, the Pichu slammed full speed into the blonde's leg before bouncing back, thoroughly dazed.

"Sparky!" Bella cried, racing up to the boy and the dazed Pichu and scooping her up in her arms. "Are you okay!? I told you to stop running off like that. You could get really hurt," she scolded before shooting a glance at the boy. He was short, several inches shorter than she was, and had a child-like quality to his face. That was good. She was better with kids than she was with people her age. She always got tongue-tied and nervous when talking to her peers. "Hey, u-um... a-are you o-okay? Sparky is a b-bit rambunctious so I'm sorry if she caused any harm," she apologized softly.

Andrew
Male/Trainer/14
Location: violetport (Street)
Tags: open, Eureka,Marry

Andrew was shocked as the two raichu burst past, luckily Marry and Fern had much better instincts than him and helped Bud out. He nodded to the girl and her venusaur thankfully, his face red with embarrassment. How was he to become a real trainer when he couldn’t even react fast enough to get his partner out of harm’s way.

(Taichung wth autocorrect?)

Brushing away the guilt that was eating him up, Andrew told the newcomer, clearly the trainer of the two raichu, “It’s all good. I’m sure Bud’s fine, though he’ll probably be a tad grumpier...” he looked to the small Bulbasaur, who was glaring at the raichu that had knocked him over. Notably, he was standing quite close by Fern which was good. The grumpy grass type rarely bonded with other Pokémon, but it looked like he and Fern were already off to a great start.

He held out his hand to the trainer, who appeared to be only a bit older than him. “My name’s Andrew, nice to meet you!” He chirped. He glanced at her Pokémon curiously. “An alolan raichu and a kantonian raichu? That’s awesome!”

Eureka [2]

    EUREKA SHAYNE

    ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
    [ 16 yrs old ] [ female ] [ located: Violetport City ] [ tagged: Marry, Andrew ] [ active pokemon; Gigavolt, Raichu & Amara, Alolan Raichu ] [ feeling: eager, energetic ] [ word count: 183 words ]

"I'm Eureka, but you can just call me Reka. It's nice to meet you! And these two knuckleheads are Amara and Gigavolt," she flashed a stern glare at the pair of Raichu who both had the grace to duck their heads in shame. Grinning at the boy when he mentioned the different species they were, she nodded enthusiastically. "Gigavolt here,"she gestured to her male Katonian Raichu, "was my partner and when I found out there was an Alolan form, I knew I just had to have one. So I convinced my cousin to travel all the way to Alola just to catch one." She explained excitedly. "These two get along as if they're siblings too, and in a double battle? They're nearly unbeatable! They compliment each other so well." She smiled affectionately at the pair, who had settled down enough that they were now sniffing curiously ar Fern and Bud, their ears pricked and eyes bright with interest. While the pair preferred the company of each other, they were always eager to make new friends. "So, what brings you two to Acrea?"

      Millicent
      ──────────────────

Turning in her chair to look toward the screen, Millicent leaned back and listened intently. All the information she was hearing was no surprise to her, but it also made her begin to wonder exactly what might be happening. It was odd to her that clones were rarely attacking the wild pokemon, but they were attacking captured ones. It was as if they knew which belonged to trainers and which did not. Of course she knew pokemon were highly intelligent, but this was something that was a bit surprising. It also made her wonder if clones that had previously been captured were being affected. Clones had been around long enough in the region for plenty of people to capture them. Part of the reason Acrea housed them so well without too much backlash was the sheer fact that the number of wild pokemon was so low to begin with. Clones were the answer to that. Sadly her efforts to try and give trainers the same experience as other regions offered had been lead astray by this issue. "It is most curious how this is happening and for it to go on for this long already with no answer in sight," she mused as she closed her eyes. It was hard to think that this had been going on for almost a year now and one town had already been completely destroyed while others like Moorhead that had already been sparsely populated were now entirely abandoned. What could have happened after all these years to make things end up like this? It made her wonder if something or someone might be working against her and causing this and that was why they were unable to pinpoint the problem. It was an interesting thought.

"I guess all we can hope for is answers now that we have assistance," she said. It pained her to have to rely on others for help like this, but maybe if her theory was correct then whatever was acting behind the scenes might be outed by the presence of all the trainers that had come to aid them. However, that didn't mean she could afford to sit back and do nothing. Her position wasn't going to hold her back like it had done thus far. "It may be time for us to take our research out of the lab and look at things first hand." For the most part Millicent had been forced to sit back and watch her creations get out of hand because of her status as leader of Acrea. Allowing her to go out and try to deal with them up close never had been something others in power wanted even though she was sure she would be far more useful out in the field than behind the scenes. Maybe this problem would have already been solved if she had been out there all this time. Nevertheless, if she had to go against things now then she would. She couldn't afford to hold back for much longer.

"Have you been out in the field at all lately or has all your work been done in the lab based off information other members have done?" she asked. Usually she would have already known things like this, but it had been frantic lately and she hadn't been keeping complete track over who was doing what.

The glare she received from the murkrow didn't faze her much though she couldn't say the same for Riley. Leave it to the mouse to get a little on edge at the slightest hint of negativity towards her. It was amusing that small rodent like himself was the one that was most protective over her but it made sense given that he was her first pokemon. The bond with a starter was something anyone could attest to as being strong. Lifting a hand up to gently stroke the mouse, he let out a happy chu as he nuzzled up against her hand. "Oh it's no big deal," she replied nonchalantly. One pokemon giving her glares wasn't going to give her problems even if that pokemon belonged to an elite 4 member. Moving her hand away from Riley after a moment she could tell the pikachu felt more at ease now. The last thing she wanted was for him to get moody and be ready to zap anything that even looked at her in such a manner. He was known to do such things. He'd even shocked her often back when she first got him as a young trainer but he had greatly mellowed out through the years. It was a good thing for her that he still didn't shock her. Actually, she couldn't even remember the last time he had. She couldn't say the same for her other pokemon though. They often were on the butt end of the electric mouse's playful outbursts. He was one to get overexcited when playing with her other mons. The only one he didn't dare mess with was Hestia. It was clear that he either feared what the legendary bird might do or he just respected it that much that he left it be. Either way she was glad that he had some common sense at least.

"Heh, well it is always nice to get out, that's for sure. I know that Johto champion of yours used to pass through Viridian City a lot. That's all I really know about the Johto league to tell you the truth. I'm not even sure if that kid is still the champion or not since he hasn't been around in a few years," she chuckled as she rubbed the back of her head. It was a bit embarrassing that she had such little knowledge of the neighboring region's league, but she had her reasons for not keeping up with such. It was a surprise that she even remembered the Kanto one's with how much she detached herself from those things since her loss. At least while she was here she wouldn't have to think much about it. Her job wasn't to take on the league or anything like that even if she ended up working with an elite. Her job was to try and put the clone issue at ease. Surely with the number of trainers that had come such a thing would be possible. She could only hope. Maybe she should see if Sophie actually wanted to join her. Maybe it wasn't the best combination given that they both had little idea of what they were doing, but they could always figure it out as time went by.

For a moment she hesitated to bring the question up. Why was she hesitating? It wasn't that bad to ask someone else for help. Then again she always had preferred doing things on her own when she could. It was difficult for her to suck up her own ego and not let it get in the way. "So were you planning on heading out to deal with the clones anytime soon or did you have other plans in place?" It was a bit of an awkward way to start, but at least she was trying. It was all she could do really and hopefully Sophie would take a hint at what she was getting at.

      Felix
      ──────────────────
19 | Male | Location: Violetport City | Tagged: Bella

Tilting his head as he felt the pichu hit his leg, Felix looked down at the small rodent with a curious look on his face. It wasn't long after that he heard a worried voice call out a name that he assumed belonged to the pokemon. However he didn't look up instead he kept his gaze on Sparky. "Huh, will you look at that. A pichu," he said though it was to no one in particular. As the girl approached and scooped the critter up in her arms, Felix finally lifted his gaze to look towards her. It was clear that she was concerned for her pokemon. Perhaps he could at least try to put her at ease a bit. Letting a soft chuckle escape his lips, he rested his hands on the back of his neck. "No need to worry about me. I know I'm small, but a pichu isn't going to do much damage to me," he replied playfully, the smile on his face growing. It couldn't be more obvious that he was entirely unfazed by what had just occurred. Actually if anything it lead him to the first person he could joke around with. It was probably wrong of him to pick a worried girl like Bella, but in a way she had dragged herself into it by simply interacting with him. In a way she was lucky, since he still didn't have anything in mind yet, but he wouldn't give up that easily. The best part was always coming up with what he could do.

Thinking over how she had spoken to him, Felix was sure that she was a bit nervous. Her tone was soft and she stuttered a bit even if it was only slightly. It almost made him feel bad for thinking of pulling a prank on her. Then again his whole identity was a joke. Surely he couldn't go around introducing himself by his real name even if others had no clue who he was. So even if he felt bad, he was still tricking her in a manner. Feeling sorry wasn't going to help anyways. Pushing the thought out of his head, he thought over what he would say next. Where was he supposed to go with this? Pondering the thought for a moment, he knew he couldn't twist this into anything yet. It was too soon. He could always introduce himself, but that seemed too upfront and to the point for a child. "That's a pretty cool pichu you got there. Never seen one with an ear like that before!" Unnecessary excitement oozed from his voice as he spoke, but it was befitting of a child or at least he thought so. As long as he avoided using too many big words he was sure he could play the part. He had managed to do so thus far so he must have been doing something right. Then again his appearance did play a big role in how well things went for him. He was lucky that he looked young and still was young at heart for that matter.

"Where'd ya find one like that? Was it here in A-Acream? Am I even saying that right?" he rambled, purposely mispronouncing the region's name. Out of the corner of his eye he could see Hawk trying his best not to react to how his trainer was acting. He could only assume it was strange to be seeing him act this childish. Usually he didn't have to try like this, but being energetic would only get him so far with pulling of his role as Fellicent.

Micheal
──────────────────
Male|17|Location: Violetport City|Tags: Percy(?)

A guy just chilling by his self at the side of a building. That was rather suspicious, but did he honestly care? kinda..but he looked past it ." See, what happen was. I was exploring around the city trying to find a map and then i lost track of time and i missed the whole speech because i was just to excited about coming here. Ya know?" Micheal rubbed the back of his hair, glancing down at Jolteon, who wasn't to found of this trainer now." Anyway, thanks for filling me in. So my guess was right then. Seems like a really big problem if you need a bunch of trainers to come here." Oh man, he couldn't wait to help out here! this seem like a bigger problem then the shadow pokemon incident back in Orre a few years ago...or was it. " By the way,..team clone..urrr, nevermind." Most teams he had to deal with was bad and making clones..was that a bad thing? Not unless they used the clones for bad things. Why would people want to clone pokemon? Well, there he go thinking about random things again.

The guy had a attitude, but he helped him. The region seem nice, not the people so far." Well, yeah i should get going...but to be honest with you, i'm not sure where to start." it would be nice if someone would travel with him, this guy seem like the type who didn't want to be bother...but he didn't care. He'll talk to almost anyone." By the way, i'm Micheal and this is my bud Jolteon. We come form a little region call Orre." he said with a smile on his face." Anyway, what will you do? are you going to help out this whole thing...Maybe we could travel together." Micheal's green eyes begin to sparkle like the first day he met his pokemon partner.

Calem
──────────────────
Male|26|Location: Violetport City|Tags: open

The new region seem promising, he could already tell that some strong trainers rested here. That was good, Calem was ready to face them all. His goal was to improve his self, not make friends are any of that stuff. To him it was cheesy and having friends only slowed im down. Well, he only thought that because he has been alone most of his life. Didn't no one look after him but his self.Maybe...his view of having friends and those you could depend would change soon. Of course he didn't think anything was change, but if he just meet the right people...maybe his closed heart would open. Anyway, friends or no friend, Calem would most likely be alright on his own. He's gotten this far without anyone

As the man continued to explore the city, he noticed that a group of people where flooding into building. He was Curious in what was going on..maybe a battling contest? heck yeah, he totally was going to enter. However, it wasn't no contest...it was a cry of help. Calem decided to stay and listen, he had nothing else to do." Leader of the region and a team? she must be a strong trainer." he snorted abit. Help the region? become a hero? nah, he didn't do a hero thing, but fighting those clones she mentioned sounded like fun. Yep, he was game, but he was only doing this to test his pokemon's power." Clones. Alright. This should be a simple test for my pokemon. Afterwards..i'll conquer this region's league with no problem."

Caelan Blake

Trainer/Team Rocket Executive
Location: Violetport City

As Caelan left the briefing, he brushed against Calem and said, "Sorry about that. I'm just antsy to get out there and see what these clones are made of. Although, I doubt they're as powerful as my Mewtwo. Still, it should be a good training opportunity. Although I'm not really the kind of guy who's a hero. Mostly the opposite. So, what's your name? Mine's Caelan, but people in Kanto called me the Black Rose."

Andrew
Male/Trainer/14
Location: violetport (Street)
Tags: open, Eureka,Marry

Andrew regarded the two raichu with interest as Eureka told their story. So cool! Think of what they could do in a preform- battle. Battle battle battle.... He shook his head softly, tempering his parent’s threats regarding the past dream. “I just moved here a few weeks ago! I live here now!” He explained quickly, tiring of repeating his sob story. Bud growled menacingly as the two raichu approached him. “Stop that, it was an accident, you need to relax-“ the Bulbasaur stuck his tongue out at his trainer and gave a huff of indignity.

Putting on a brave face and remembering why his parents finally allowed him a starter, Andrew asked, “Since Bud’s all worked up anyways, what would you say to a battle?” He reached towards his poke balls with fake eagerness. In reality, he would want to do anything but battle, but if his parents noticed, they’d talk his ears off again. “Three each, single battle. “ Andrew knee he would likely loose, but he might as well practice, especially if he wanted to beat gyms.

Kit Holly
Female/Scientist/17
Location: violetport debrief backroom
Tags: open,Millicent

Kit rubbed her shoulders awkwardly. “All information based. I haven’t really done any field work yet...just testing samples and studying data.” She explained, hoping that Millicent wouldn’t be disappointed in her. Personally, she didn’t see herself as a strong trainer, and found herself better suited to indoor work. Hecate rubbed Kit’s leg comfortingly, and she patted her head in response, thankful for the tiny gesture of kindness from her partner. Swallowing her nerves, she volunteered, “If you would prefer, I’m willing to go out and do a study on live clones. If you want...maybe I can go and capture one for further testing?” It took every ounce of her being not to give into the nervous habits begging to kick in.

Echo
Femal/ some random kiddo/ 6
Location: Entering Violetport
Tags: open

Echo trotted along with her espurr pacing a bit ahead of her. Had she been old enough, she would have the Pokémon in a pokeball, but being a six year old has its downsides. She wasn’t legally allowed a trainer’s license, meaning despite her personal connection with the Pokémon, it was technically wild and any old trainer could catch it. She shuddered at the thought of such a thing, but humans were quite monstrous in her opinion.

Soon, the pair had entered violetport city. Espurr sniffed around and shook her head. She was not here. Once again, there were at least a step behind her, quite possibly more. Echo still couldn’t fully comprehend her situation and she was the only one who had more answers. Not that she would give them easily of course. Glancing around, she wondered if she could ask a trainer if they has seen her?

Eureka [3]

[ 16 yrs old ] [ female ] [ located: Violetport City ] [ tagged: Marry, Andrew ] [ active pokemon; Gigavolt, Raichu; Amara, Alolan Raichu; Serenity, Togekiss ] [ feeling: eager, energetic ] [ word count: 183 words ]

Eureka spared a brief glance at the Pokemon to ensure no fighting was breaking out before focusing back on the boy with interest in her eyes. "Really? That's so cool. If all of Acrea is as beautiful as Violetport, it must be a dream living here," she exclaimed enthusiastically. "I live in Johto with my Cousin. She's part of the Elite Four," she added, reaching down to scratch affectionately at Gigavolt's orange furred head. Momentarily forgetting the Bulbasaur, Gigavolt leaned into his owner's touch with a happy sigh that brought a smile to the girl's face. While she loved all of her Pokemon, she has a special bond with Gigavolt. He was her first pokemon, after all. They had started their journey together and had been side by side through all the challenges she had faced to get where she was today. She couldn't have done it without him. At the suggestion of a battle, she perked up considerably and nodded eagerly. Reka was always eager to test her skills and the skills of her Pokemon. "You're on! Do you mind being the ref?" She asked, turning hopefully to Marry while pulling a Pokeball from her belt. "Gigs, Mara, you'll get your chance to battle but I think I'll use Seri first," she said. The two Raichu moved off obediently to watch from the sidelines while Eureka released her Togekiss, Serenity.

When the other began to explain why they had missed the briefing that was provided by Millicent, the Team Clone member simply sighed and studied the buildings around them rather than focus on his new company. ”Why would you be excited?” He questioned, his eyes briefly flickering to Michael, ”You’re just here to help with the clones. It’s hardly going to be enjoyable if we’re constantly under threat.” He pointed out, frowning and shaking his head. Once the trainer commented on the situation being serious since so many trainers were being called upon to help the region being rampaged by clone Pokémon, Percival narrowed his eyes and kissed his teeth, offering a shrug, ”Team Clone doesn’t need this much help, though.” He muttered under his breath so that it was almost inaudible. He hated having to admit that they needed help from other regions to deal with the clone Pokémon and it was a huge stretch if you managed to get him to actually admit it to somebody, but he most definitely wouldn’t drop the opinion that so many trainers weren’t necessary to help them. He pulled away from his thoughts when a comment on Team Clone was begun, but then the trainer decided against finishing it, ”No. Keep talking.” He insisted, glaring at him, ”I want to hear what you have to say about Team Clone.”

A groan escaped his lips when Michael admitted that he wasn’t sure where to start in the region; Percival assumed that meant that more help was going to be needed and he wouldn’t be able to slip out of the interaction as quickly as he had hoped he could. ”Call me Akuro.” The introduction was blunt and he got to the point quickly, neglecting to mention the fact that he came from Sinnoh originally considering, at least in his opinion, that information was completely useless - it didn’t matter where he came from. He also elected to not bother sending out any of Pokémon purely just to introduce them to Michael - if they were needed later on, that was when Michael would meet them. Maybe we could travel together. Percival struggled to think of any reason why Michael would want to be travelling with him, he certainly wasn’t the most social nor friendly person in Acrea, and he was almost certain that, based on first impressions, he wasn’t going to be a popular pick for a travelling companion. The look on Michael’s face when he suggested teaming up bothered the member of Team Clone greatly; why he wanted to work with Percival was a mystery, but the fact he seemed to be looking forward to it was even stranger.

Percival debated with himself in his head, before he finally gave a curt nod. ”Fine. It’s better than just standing around I guess.” He grumbled, shrugging his shoulders nonchalantly, as if he was trying to emphasise the point that he didn’t want to work together with Michael, but in their specific situation he just thought it was the most logical decision. ”We’re going to encounter clone Pokémon,” He rolled his shoulders back and sighed, ”So let's hope your bud there is ready for that.” He cast a look down at the Jolteon that had been introduced when referring to the Pokémon.

A small frown was present on her face when the champion explained that he hadn’t been to Alola before, ”That’s unfortunate.” She commented briefly, not wanting to say too much and cut him off since that would be incredibly rude and she didn’t want to come off that way. It was a terrible habit of hers to ramble too much and on occasion she would lose herself and start cutting in and interrupting people, although she would instantly apologise if she caught herself doing that and, while she was slowly but surely improving, she still had to remind herself sometimes to wait until it was her turn to talk and avoid speaking when somebody wasn’t finished. The small frown on her face was soon replaced by a smile, though, when Gold mentioned that he had heard that Alola was a nice place. ”Oh, it really is a nice place. Hopefully, if you ever get the time to travel, you could go, even if it’s only a short visit.” She paused thoughtfully for a moment, tilting her head, ”I guess being a champion might get busy sometimes, so it’s not surprising that you don’t get to travel that much.” Admittedly, she was curious about Gold being a champion but she decided against bombarding him with questions about it, that could get annoying quickly and she didn’t want to make it seem like that was the only reason why she was interested in accompanying him - the trainer could imagine that it was probably common that people showed interest just because he was a champion.

Gracidea waited patiently for a response to her suggesting of the two of them working together, but seeing the initial reaction where he was rubbing the back of his neck prompted some worries to begin building up in her mind. What if he didn’t want to work with her? Of course, any reason would probably be understandable; maybe he just wanted to go off on his own for a bit and be alone with his thoughts? Perhaps he simply just didn’t want to work together with someone who wasn’t a champion like him - maybe it was just because of a skill gap, or it was because he just preferred the company of more experienced people and Gracidea wasn’t exactly the prime example of someone incredibly experienced with battling and such; she never really had the desire to be that competitive and merely enjoyed the experience and the company of her Pokémon. Since they’d be facing powerful clone Pokémon, it would make sense if the difference in skill was the reason why he wouldn’t want to work alongside her. There was also the possibility that he didn’t like her as a person; although she couldn’t think of what she could have done that would prompt him to dislike her, but then she was probably bias considering she’d probably consider herself as pleasant company. Maybe it was bothersome how she was friendly right off the bat? That could probably get annoying, right? Some people didn’t like social people like Gracidea, but Gold seemed to be friendly enough so she doubted that it was because he didn’t like her, unless he was just acting nice to be polite?

With all the thoughts plaguing her head, she instantly snapped away from them when Gold answered her, preparing for her offer to be denied. That was why she briefly had a blank expression on her face when he actually agreed to it. Blinking a few times to process what was said, a blush dusted over her cheeks, ”Oh! Um, great!” She offered a nervous smile and glanced away to recollect her thoughts, ”I wouldn’t want to, er, leave a cute boy all alone in this place either.” It was only seconds after that she shook her head quickly, ”Not that you can’t handle travelling alone, though! I’m sure you’re really capable by yourself, I mean, why else are you a champion right? You’re obviously doing something right.” She laughed nervously and cleared her throat, thankful for when the Pokémon was released; that meant the topic could be changed. ”I’m sure we can get along,” she reassured with a smile which was somewhat more confident that her previous one, ”Primarina can get a little too big for his boots sometimes, but he’ll warm up to you.”

Suzume Murasaki ~ Alolan Champion ~ Tags; Blue
Location; Violetport ~ Team status; 6/6 healthy ~ Active; Kasumi(Shiny Umbreon)

Suzume stopped before the hallway split off in two directions. It looked easy to get lost in a place like this, so she’d have to be careful to avoid that. The sound of doors rattling caught her attention, and she spun around to look for the source, hoping it wasn’t a team member. It was just Blue trying out different doors, but it had still nearly given her a heart attack. All of them were locked by the looks of things, too. Despite wondering why he had tried, she made no comment on the matter. “I’m told the whole point of gyms is to battle and defeat the leader, so how could it be open without you?” Suzume was going just going to try ignore him, but what she heard next made her clench her fists and jaw. Hearing him talk about her thinking she was stronger then him just because she was a champion irked her to no end, enough to make her give into the urge to snap at him. “Bold of you to assume I think that way!” Suzume shook her head slightly and sent Blue a killer glare. “I am not stronger than you just because of my title! I’m..! I’m wasting my breath.” She forced herself to calm down in the middle of her last sentence, taking a deep breath before finishing it. Continuing to speak at that volume would surely draw attention to her. People assuming she thought that she was stronger everyone because of her title was the thing she hated most. The title itself didn’t lend any strength to her, it was just a sign of her strength. Even if she lost her position someday, she’d still be a strong trainer. She supposed Blue was an example of that. Even though he was no longer a champion, he was still a powerful trainer, but she wasn’t going to tell him that anytime soon. Mostly it was just that people thought she was that full of herself that bothered her. Ranting at him about it was pointless. He probably would still think that way about her. “So what if I did walk into one?” She met his gaze with another harsh glare before she finally turned her head away in a nonchalant manner. “It’s not like you care that I did. You don’t care about anyone but yourself.” Though she had only known him for a short time, it was obvious he thought highly of himself. She wouldn’t deny that he was a strong trainer, but he had let it go to his head. It had been infuriating to listen to him refer to himself as a “Kanto top-level trainer” all the time. “Why are you even here? Now you’re in this ‘dangerous situation’ as well.” What would he put himself into this for? She knew that she wasn’t the reason he walked into this, so what did he come for? He could have just left and saved himself a lot of trouble. Suzume shrugged. There was no point in trying to figure out what went through his head.

“I got myself into this, and I can get myself out of it. Maybe stop telling me how dumb a decision this was and start thinking about how you’re going to get out of this, because I don’t feel like helping you with that.” Without waiting long for a response, she stormed ahead, but not too far, still being wary of her surroundings in case team members were close by, which was more than likely. The champion crouched down for a moment to speak in a quiet voice to her umbreon. “Kasumi, do you think you can try track the flareon by scent?” It went without saying that neither she nor Blue knew the layout, so since she had no idea and Blue was useless, she’d rely on her Pokémon, just as she always had. Though she was a little worried that Blue might have been right. He would probably never let her hear the end of it if she was wrong, but she couldn’t really turn back now. Still, she was going to get so much hell from Tsuki and probably even Kaguya later. In terms of stupidity, just waltzing into a secret base after a Pokémon who she had no idea who the owner is was right up there with the time in her childhood when she tried catching wishiwashi barehanded, provoking the small fish in the process and nearly getting herself killed by a school of wishiwashi in the end. Shaking her head, Suzume turned her attention back to her umbreon. In response to her question, Kasumi titled her head and twitched her ears. Of course it might not work since she hadn’t met it before, but it was worth a shot. Kasumi bounded ahead by a couple feet, sniffing the floor and peeking around corners at intersections. Curiously, the umbreon stopped to poke her head into a door that had been left slightly open, but calmly pulled her head out, resuming her search. Testing out the handle, Suzume notes that it seemed someone had forgotten to lock it, as it didn’t resist when she turned it. The keypad by the door also suggested it possibly should have been locked. Perhaps there was something of interest in there. “Hmm... you didn’t see or smell anyone in there, did you?” The umbreon stopped in her tracks and simply nodded in confirmation of her trainer’s statement. Suzume opened the door slightly, just enough to get a look inside the room. It wasn’t massive, but it was full of shelves completely packed with files. “A little look wouldn’t hurt... Kasumi, wait here for a bit. I won’t be long. Don’t let Blue do anything stupid. I’ll only be a few minutes, but I wouldn’t put it past him to somehow screw up in that short time.” With that, she slipped through the door and closing it quietly-leaving it open just a bit so it didn’t lock-behind her before turning her attention to some of the shelves. One of the files caught her attention, and she stared at it for a moment before taking it from the shelf and skimming through it. “Tsuki is going to kill me for this...” Suzume took the file with her, placing it carefully in her bag just as she left the room and the door behind her. She didn’t have time to stop and read everything, so she’d have to take it with her. Hopefully Blue hadn’t seen her stuff that file into her bag, but she doubted she was that lucky. Kasumi perked up at the sight of her trainer, but a judgemental looked appeared on the pokémon’s face when she saw Suzume stuff the file into her bag.

“We can read it later, Kasumi, but for now we should keep going.” As keen as she was to see for herself what information that file contained about a set of certain legendaries, this place didn’t exactly make for the safest reading spot. She also still had to find that flareon and somehow prove it did belong to Blue. Despite the slight diversion, she hadn’t forgotten her original reason for coming. Not even a few minutes later, Suzume noticed a flash of orange fur with a big fluffy tail ahead. She had refrained herself from calling out to the flareon or blindly chasing after it, but strangely Kasumi bolted towards it at the sight of it. Suzume hissed quietly under her breath, but made no move to follow the umbreon at first. “Kasumi?!” Sighing in exasperation, she checked every direction before following suit. Once she caught sight of the two eeveelutions, she skidded to a halt. Kasumi was sniffing the flareon curiously, and she shot Blue a knowing glare before turning to the flareon again and sniffing it’s mane before burying her face in the soft fur. Suzume imagine it was rather soft and warm, and she also wanted to pet it, but now wasn’t the time. “This isn’t the time to be making friends.” She tried to resist the urge to pick it up and cuddle it, but the temptation was too great. Suzume carefully approached the flareon and scooped it up in her arms, stroking its head gently. “It’s so fluffy..!”
