Mackenzie Puckett glanced hopefully at the unblemished sky, hoping for it to stay cool and bless them with a cloudy day, instead of one with bitter wind and icy rain. He let out a small sigh as a few clouds started to crowd the sky. Well, Mackenzie wasn’t expecting any miracle today, and he was sure that somehow there would end up being some trouble on the plane due to the weather. His eyes searched amongst the hundreds and hundreds of people, watching as they scurried from store to store, grabbing a quick bite to eat before their gate closed. He let out a heavy sigh, as he searched through his backpack, hunting through the over packed bag, that contained many useless things that probably wouldn’t be needed on the airplane, and especially not in Africa. After a few minutes of rummaging around his sack, he was surprised to find a small tuna sandwich wrapped up tightly with saran wrap. He smiled gratefully, but the grin fell as he turned it over and read a bright pink note taped onto the back. have a great trip! so that was the explanation… his mother had snuck the snack into his bag when he wasn’t looking. He rummage a little more, and was happy to find two stick of toblerone chocolate stuffed in the plaid side pockets on the inside.
Well, Mackenzie supposed it was time to board his plane… he couldn’t spend all day snacking on treats and resting on the chairs near the gate. As he stood up, he noticed a change in the temperature, and suddenly, the air turned chilly. He glanced out the window, and was surprised to see a light shower starting overhead, and as the sky grew more and more clouded, the rain fell harder, and in larger drops. He let out a groan of annoyance, knowing that his wish of a smooth plane ride, and a beautiful view had plummeted and became nothing. He exhaled and then slowly shrugged his pale shoulders. Well, it wasn’t the worst thing. He wouldn’t exactly be on the outside of the airplane anyway. The best thing to do, was to suck it up, and take in the wintry season. Even though it would probably freezing when he boarded the airplane, the least he could hope for was one of the small cotton blanked that was handed out commonly by the stewardesses. He stood up, and smiled warily. The good thing about flying, was that Mackenzie had no trouble sleeping at all, and the best thing about it was, Mackenzie sleep would be flawless since he had pulled an all nighter last night, knowing that it would higher his chanced of getting a perfect slumber
