Rose reached up and rubbed her hand over her eyes in exasperation- although most everyone just kept quiet, there were a few that made their feelings about the situation very clear. Why didn't they speak up then? she wondered, but she knew it was because James was practically their leader. There were really only one or two of them who had the gut to speak up, and Rose often wondered if James ever got lonely. He was a good leader- so were the others that often challenged him- and kept them in line well, but she wondered if he got lonely with all of them more or less avoiding him, because he was just higher up than them? Her thoughts were pulled from their wandering as she caught glimpse of someone else entering the room- or rather just coming to stand in the doorway, the bitter smell of blood reaching all of their nose's. "You need help with that?" she asked Chase, around the conversation going on between James and Tobias. It was pretty obvious that meant the wound he obviously had- she wasn't able to see how bad it was, and just thought she'd offer.
"Do you want the rest of us, who aren't injured, to get injured?" James asked Tobias, a growl rasping in his throat and making his words sound scratching and low. "Our people are injured- they'll be only more injured should we go now. They will expect us later, yes, but we will bring the whole pack. They will not stand a chance." This decision was final to him, and he moved away, pulling open the fridge door. He stopped when he did, stiffening quickly, more so than he had been before. It had quite hurt his shoulder as he'd pulled back- he supposed he might have done something last night to hurt it, and he paused a moment to relax it, hoping the pain would leave. It didn't however, and he slowly moved his shoulder back, as if testing it. It hurt quite a lot, making him wince. Well, wasn't that lovely? "If we went now, only half, less than that, of the pack could go. They'd expect that too- you really think they would think we wouldn't rush into things too, because we wanted her back? People could get a lot more hurt that way."
Reaching in the fridge, after having been standing there for a few moments too long with it just open. He pulled out a bottle of orange juice, and then reached into the freezer for one of the various ice packs, which he put on his shoulder until he could go sit somewhere and adjust it. "We'll leave two hours before dark," he told everyone now, voice raised slightly so everyone could hear. "I want everyone back here by then, rested well." And then he left the room, headed up stairs. His room was the farthest on the right, just a bit bigger than everyone else's here was, but it wasn't always his room. Sometimes it was Tobias', and soon enough it probably would be again. But for now, it was his, and he left the door open, assuming there would be someone who followed. He sat down in the bed, raising the orange juice to his lips to drink before laying back, closing his eyes and just resting for a few moments.
