(This is the very first RP I've joined... ever... so please bear with me, I am inexperienced in RP )
Legolas glanced at the rolled up parchment lying idly on his desk. A falcon earlier that day had hailed from Gondor, carrying the envelope. The Prince of Mirkwood was curious of what lay in that letter.
I hope nothing is amiss in Gondor, he thought worriedly. Banishing these thoughts, he broke the seal and opened the letter.

March 22, 3019

Legolas,
It has been exactly a year since the Ring was destroyed. As the King of Gondor, I am welcoming everyone to a royal feast I am hosting in light of this. Everyone will be there, even the hobbits and Gimli. I hope to see you in three days.

A celebration! thought the elf. This would be too good to miss. He glanced out his window towards the east. His father would surely agree to his going. He would leave immediately.

Legolas perched lightly upon Arod as the two stood at the edge of Greenwood the Great. The sun shone brightly and for the first time in thousands of years, Greenwood was truly green, bursting with life and birdsong, now that the Shadow had departed.
A perfect day for traveling, the elf thought, urging Arod to a trot. They left the security of the wood, to wander in the eyes of anyone who was watching them.

Saelweth followed on her large warg she rarely rode a horse because her warg was easier to handle. She had her mount stay in the darkness a she was going to try an ambush on the prince of mirkwood.

It was at that moment that A nazgul wearing black followed by a rider dressed in cloth of.the nazgul but white and riding white horse that was ghost like rode past legolas. he was holding an elvish sword that looked to be 3rd age but as his hood fell his face revealed a an elf who looked like glorfindel in his younger days "got out of here you foul creature. Black Riders don't belong in these lands and i will hunt you too the ends of middle earth if i have too vanquish you!" He said chaseing the nazgul but watched as the black rider turned around to face hima nd charge he pointed his sword the former ringwraith and charged at it on his white horse.

The walls of the White City came into view, shining right on the horizon. It was only a few leagues away. Legolas smiled, and urged his tired horse on. As always, the sun shone brightly, but the day seemed darker to the elf.
A few hours upon leaving Greenwood, a shadow had seemed to fall onto his mind. An acute feeling of being watched, sometimes fading and sometimes flaring up, seemed to surround him.
He rubbed wearily at his face; elves very seldom tired, but this feeling seemed to wear at him.
Arod suddenly jerked and stopped, nearly throwing his distracted rider off. Legolas froze, his eyes narrowing.
"A Elberreth Gilthoniel
silivren penna míriel..."
A voice of a young maiden, soft and sad, drifted to his ears. It was singing softly in the elven tongue. Arod seemed suddenly restless, pulling at his rider's grip on his halter and whining, angling his ears towards the voice.
"O menel aglar eleneth!
Na-chaered palan-díriel,"
What Arod did next took Legolas clean off his guard. He strained at his halter, looking so stressed that the whites of his eyes were showing. Startled, the elf let go of his horse's halter, allowing Arod to run free. The usually gentle beast nearly bucked its rider off as it galloped towards a forest, following the song and drawing further and further away from Minas Tirith.
"O galadhremmin ennorath,
Fanuilos, le linnathon..."
The voice suddenly changed note and dropped, singing lowly. Cold menace crept into the usually sweet and simple song. Legolas tugged at his horse's halter once more, calling "Daro!" softly in Elvish, but Arod took no heed of his master. With apprehension, Legolas realized that he couldn't stop.
All he could do was unshoulder his bow and set an arrow to the string, grimly setting himself to whatever danger his crazed horse was throwing himself into.
"Nef aear, si nef aearon..."
With a final whinny, Arod burst into a clearing.

Saelweth chuckled her large warg mount sat down she was emotionless as was the large animal sitting beside her she wasn't sure if she could attempt this she silently looked the horse and the rider having stopped her song.

Upon the sudden ending of the song, Arod jerked backwards, letting out a distressed whine. Legolas dismounted and stroked his horse's face, laying his hands over Arod's eyes and murmuring softly, hoping to calm his horse.
"Mae, mae roch..." The words had the desired effect, and Arod quieted. If it wasn't for the situation the elf would've laughed outright, for the look on his steed's face was one of guilt and embarrassment.
His mirth faded and he raised his bow, eyes scanning the clearing. The voice had faltered and fallen silent. With a hiss of disgust Legolas shouldered his bow and alighted back onto Arod, steering the now-tamed beast out of the clearing.
