ηαмє: "My name is Cole Crowe. Huh. That response seems almost robotic now; I've had to say it so many times over the past week."
ηι¢кηαмє: "I'm not really sure what else you can get from Cole. Try to make something shorter if you really must. My little sister Violet called me Colie, but I see no reason for my competition to call me that."
αgє: "I'm eighteen years old. Eighteen. This was my last reaping. I had one more year before I started my life as another faceless coal minor, namelessly helping to fuel the Capitol. You decide which is the crueler fate."
∂ιѕтяι¢т: "I come from District Twelve, if it wasn't for the oppressive presence of the godforsaken peacemakers or the arrival of the old crone every reaping; I'd say the Capitol had just about forgotten we existed. My mother always says 'No matter how hard times get, there is always someone worse off than you.' Honestly, I envy those people, because to be worse off than us; you'd have to be dead."
ѕ¢σяє: "I scored a five in training. It's not the best score, but that's all part of my ploy. I've seen a few previous victors feign being weak and I figured playing on the defensive could be my strongest option. ."
ωєαρση σƒ ¢нσι¢є: "I guess this is one way of finding out my strengths and weaknesses. Well, you hand me a weapon and I'll use it. Honestly, I can be extremely resourceful. When given the choice I'll always choose melee weapons over ranged weapons; bows and throwing knives have never been a strong point of mine. If I was forced to pick, my favoured weapons would be a club or a sword. They let me utilise my upper body strength."
αρρєαяαη¢є: Cole may not be the tallest male in the Games, standing at around 5'10, give or take. What he lacks in height however, he makes up for in stockiness. He sports an athletic build, with strong arm and core muscles earned from days of hard graft around the mine. His hands are rough and calloused, giving extra grip when climbing trees or holding the shaft of a weapon. His fingers are not nimble however, causing him to stumble over delicate operations, such as threading a bow and untying knots. His skin is pale, almost sickly, a trait shared with many of those who come from The Seam. His hair however is a wirey chocolatey brown which blends instantly into muddy surroundings or into the bark of trees. His pale green eyes can be so cold one minute; yet so warm the next. His chiseled jaw in normally set in defiance. In moments of worry, anger or thought, his jaw muscle tends to tense or twitch unconsciously.
нιѕтσяу: Cole grew up in The Seam, the most impoverished area of District Twelve. His father was a coal miner, just like every other man in the Seam. Cole's mother stayed at home and tended the home, whilst raising her son. Their home was nothing more than a shabby hut. Parts of the roof were crumbling in and were either covered over with tin or simply ignored with the use of a strategically placed bucket. Cole would never say he had a bad upbringing; despite all the underprivileges. His parents had a great work ethic, which rubbed off on him. He picked up traits of motivation, determination and above all, to keep on trying. If you don't give something a shot; you'll never succeed at all.
When he was ten, his mother fell pregnant. After 8 months, she gave birth to a premature baby girl. It was touch and go as to whether little Violet would survive, but she did. She was a fighter. This year was also the year that Cole's father would have his accident.
That winter morning; little more than a month after the birth of his daughter, Cole's father went into the mine. One of the mineshafts collapsed. Cole's father emerged, his leg badly crippled. He was lucky to escape with his life.
As Cole's father could no longer earn a wage, it was up to Cole's mother to become the main breadwinner of the family. Cole's father stayed at home and took up the light household chores; leaving the rest in the hands of Cole. As less of a wage came in, less food appeared on their table. It was when Cole turned 11 that his father took it upon himself to teach the boy how to hunt. His father had hunted when he was little, so he had learnt many skills. He showed Cole how to set traps, from simple hook traps to snares, using only wire; or in most cases twigs and leaves. He taught Cole the art of camouflage and bowmanship skills. Camouflage was something Cole came exceedingly good at. As archery was not a strong point he could not afford to startle the animal; after it was startled he had no chance of hitting it.
He began to cross the border and hunt in the woods there; bringing back a rabbit on a bad day and a wood pigeon on a good day. His mother would sell the feathers and pelts on her stall at The Hob, along with some other valuables she had collected from around the stone screes. For once; life was starting to look up.
Years passed, reapings passed and he watched many on the projection, always carefully studying. He watched for tactics, patterns in the way certain District fought and had been trained. He began to notice subtle similarities in the Careers, taking note of their ways just Incase his name was ever drawn.
The moment their world began to fall was the year of Cole's sixteenth birthday. He had got progressively cockier with his hunting abilities and had managed to snare a large fawn. One simple arrow to the neck and it was dead. He strung it over his neck and began to walk. Just before he made it to the border dance he was caught by a Peacemaker patrol. Cole was dragged back to the Seam, before being made an example of. He was publicly lashed 40 times in the street. Scars still adorn his back; a particularly cruel one coiling over his shoulder and down the centre of his neck. As if this humiliation wasn't enough, they forbade him from leaving the District. The peacemakers sent him to work down the mine every day with the older men.
This meant a cut in the households food supply. His mother began to make herself ill working at the Hub as often as she could. It wasn't enough. After that years particularly cruel winter, little, innocent, six-year old Violet died of starvation. It tore the close family apart; each blaming theirselves.
From that day, something very deep stirred in Cole. A deep, malicious hatred of the Capitol and everything it stands for. Their life is one big game to the Capitol. He has heard takes of their ignorance and their luxurious lifestyle; a lifestyle built on the backs of others. It sickens him to his core.
When his name was drawn he felt nothingness. His parents were numb; unable to grieve anymore than they had already. Cole secretly felt a fire set alight within him. This was his chance to step into the limelight. A smile played on his lips as his final thought spun through his mind, 'Lets see how the Capitol likes to be played with.'

• Castella Mirkwood • 18 • District 10 Tribute •Introductions
>> name: Castella Mirkwood
>> nicknames: Cass, Stella, Cassie.
>> age: 18
>> gender: Female
>> district: District 10; Livestock
On the Outside
>> height: 5' 6"
>> weight: 105 lbs
>> physical description: Life in District 10 is excruciating, and the effect it had on Castella's appearance certainly reflects it. She has put on some muscle in her arms and legs from toiling away with the animals, but the hollowness in her cheeks and bony hips shows that she's definitely not getting enough sustenance. The elegance in her back and the gentle curve of her neck that she managed to retain during her younger days has all but vanished. Her long-fingered hands are dry and cracked with use, and her skin is slightly tanned from toiling out in the fields. Her eyes and hair are both a murky brown colour, like dark chocolate tinted gold. Her hair is cropped short and reaches down to her chin. The expression on her face is most accurately described as a deadpan; she despises the Capitol and the abomination that is the Hunger Games, but knows that raising her voice against them will mean certain to death to not only herself, but the friends and family she has in the District as well.
Let's Take a Closer Look
>> personality: If there was anything the Peacemakers of District 10 failed to do, it was to pound Castella into obedience. She is nothing if not defiant, and although she has never openly expressed her hate for the Capitol, it is clear through her actions and demeanour that she holds no love for them. Her hate, however, does not stop with the Capitol - her fury is also directed at the Career Districts, and she finds their tributes to be despicable.
Castella likes proving a point in all that she does, and, more often than not, takes on other people's work (especially for the younger children) to show that not all the people of District 10 are as submissive as they are thought out to be. She's definitely a tough one.
Despite all of this, Castella has never been a rule-breaker and doesn't like taking steps out of the boundaries; doing so will earn a punishment which she knows will put her out of commission, and if she can't work, how will she provide for her family? Equality has always been very important to her, and she is determined to do as much as she can to play her part well - even if it means taking more tesserae.
Strictly speaking, you'd expect Castella to be a very stubborn person as well, but in reality, she's not. She is very swayed and may even get confused by other people's opinions, and sometimes, this makes her indecisive. She lacks the split-second reaction time that she would actually make her an asset in the Games.
>> history: "Horrible. What more do I have to say?" would be Castella's answer if you asked her how her life has been up until now. The noose of poverty has been slowly closing around District 10 for many years now, and it has made everybody's life a living h*ll. Ever since she was able to walk and talk, Castella has been forced to work excruciatingly long hours, with the threat of the ever-present Peacemaker's whip looming over her. She honestly cannot recall a day where she does not feel worn out to the bone or hungry to the point of pain. Her father, mother and siblings all bring in their fair share of rations and income, but it is never enough with so many hungry mouths to feed. Besides, Castella knows that even she is much better off than her parents, and is often compelled to give up her meals in order to provide nourishment for her mother and father.
When Castella was 12, her older brother Zenith - Zen - was taken by the Games. She remembered watching him die in the bloodbath at the Cornucopia - minutes away from escaping with a bundle of supplies in his arms - only to have a knife stuck in his back by the Careers. That was the year Castella really, truly found her hatred for the Capitol. His death still replays in her dreams every night, and his choked scream, distorted by the static of her family's age-old television, is still burned into her mind. Now, it is her turn to play in the Games - and she swears that she will do all it takes to avenge him.
>> training score: Six. Castella figures that it was the worst possible score to get; and it certainly wasn't part of her plan. No, she was truly aiming for one of the bottom positions in order to mask her true talents, but it turns out it didn't work. She did a little too well, and ended up with a terrible score. Six - neither terrible nor terrific, making her another one of those anonymous tributes that more often than not, die in the first fifteen minutes of the Games.
>> relationships: Castella has never been in a relationship, and finds them foolish and unnecessary. Who has time to play the 'helpless-girl-in-love' with so much work to do?
Her family is rather large, and taking care of so many people is often a difficult task for her parents, Felicia and Kristopher. She had an older brother, Zenith, who died in the Games; an older sister who is currently suffering from dehydration and lack of sleep, named Liliana; a younger sister, a petite little girl only 9 years old named Promise, and a baby brother, aged 4, named Demitri.
Extras
>> abilities: Although the only 'weapon' Castella is proficient with is a butcher knife, from her days spent at the slaughterhouse, her knowledge of livestock and animals in general is vast. She can easily pick out the sick and dying from the healthy, and can spot differences and abnormalities in them just as easily. Her stamina is also one of her more outstanding traits, and she is able to put up with extreme physical activity for longer durations of time.
>> other: Castella's district token is a silver locket, which holds a picture of herself and her brother Zenith inside it.
Finally (sort of) finished my charrie! Finishing touches to come. e u e

Name: Melanie May Skye
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Hair: Brown, long, and wavy
Eyes: Bright blue
Skin: Pale
Height: 5' 5''
Weight: 110lbs.
District: 3
Weapon Specialty: Archery, long spears, and throwing knives.

Hi, my name's Melanie May Skye. I'm a regular starving seventeen year-old girl, who lives in District 3. I am grateful for where I live though, it's better then District 12....I think. Like everyone else, I haven't been out of District 3, so I don't know if District 12 is as bad as they say. Anyway, District 3 is a pretty good District. We never have enough, but we get as much food as we need to survive. Also, being in the district of technology means that you must be taught to be intelligent, so I have a little bit of the upper hand when it comes to thinking things out. As you can hopefully tell, I am a girl. I have long, brown, wavy hair, which sometimes I put up in a high ponytail, but most of the time I just leave it down my back. I have bright blue eyes, which I have been told many times that they are really pretty, not to gush or anything. My skin is just a normal pale color. When weapons are concerned, I'm best with archery, long spears, and throwing knives.

Personality: My personality is quite a jumble of things. Sometimes, I'm that girl who just likes to keep to herself. Other times, I can be that girl that never stops talking. My personality depends on who I'm with. I wouldn't be all giggly, and talk a lot with people I just met. I wouldn't be shy and independent around my best friend, or my family. In the games, I'm going to try to come off as just the girl who keeps to herself. I don't want to just act normal when I've been shoved into a cage where I'm expected to kill people I've never even gotten to know. This may be hard to put into action though, because I know after a couple days, I'll be dying to talk to someone. That brings me to another topic. I'm that kind of person that does great with groups. I'm really hoping to have an ally or two. I don't think I need one, I am a pretty tough girl. Part of me is dreading the games, because well, I don't want to die. The other part of me knows that I have a pretty good chance, and happily waiting for the games to begin. I feel like I'm twisted to say I'm a little exited to kill someone, but I am. I've seen the faces of others doing it in the past, and behind the blood stains, they look like there is a sting of pride, and I want that pride.

History: Well, I've had the regular
hard life most kids in Panem
have had. My family is lucky
enough to have been able to
put food on the table every day.
Though, the only way we can
is because my father, mother,
and grandmother worked
hard every day. As I said
earlier, I had a pretty good
life compared to others.
Never had I ever thought
that I would end up in
the Hunger Games,
though. When I was
ten, I got a knife,
which I used to use,
for small killings,
but I think I might be
one to be scared of
if I have a knife in
my hand.
Training Score: 8. I'm really pleased with this
score, because I am from a district where not many have
won from.
Token:
This It has been passed down in my family for generations.
Skills: Like I said earlier, I'm really
good with knives (throwing), archery, and with throwing long spears.
Also, I'm good with running distances, but I'm not good in the speed
department.
Weaknesses: I'm not from a career district,
so I haven't had that much training. Also, I'm not that strong...at
all, so that is a really big flaw. Another weakness, is that I'm not
super fast, but I'm not slow. Some people say average speed isn't
that bad, but I think top speed is important to have in the games.
