Corvo squirmed around until he had managed to sit up. He didn't want to be caught in the middle of an argument between the two. He got up from the couch and took a seat on the floor instead, rubbing his eyes tiredly. If he fell asleep now, he was sure he'd get an earful later.

"There's not enough room! The only reason Corvo's allowed is because he's my guardian!" River said, more like shouted, as she filled up a glass.

"Hmph," Clara sighed. "I won't argue with you. All I can say is that it would bring something interesting into all our lives. But what can I say, I can't argue with the person paying the rent. Sorry, Corvo, it would have been fun."

"Hey!" Corvo barked at River. "Are you saying you don't like me enough to let me stay here if you didn't have to?!" he whined then laughed in good nature. He looked back at Clara and offered her a reassuring smile. "Gaia needs you, your dad needs you more like. I don't think any man should be left alone with that terror." he said jestingly.

"Heh, you're right," Clara agreed. "If River kicks you out, we'll have a room for you," she added, smiling devilishly, "since she's such a grump."

He nodded rather abruptly. "So where to next?" He turned and moved towards the door, holding it open for her and waiting for her to pass through before stepping away and letting it close behind them. It was very sunny out today, and the Jaguar in him reveled in it. Big cats, unless they lived in freezing temperatures, loved the warmth.

She gave him a half smile, though it was obvious it had been forced in her attempt to help calm him. "No. I just have a knife in my side and adrenaline that's wearing off. But yea, I'm fine." Anna winced, her sarcastic remark doing nothing to help the growing pain.

Corvo snickered wolfishly then hushed Clara. "You're going to get me kicked out faster!" he scolded. "I am doing just fine on my own when it comes to annoying her." he assured her openly. At this point, if he didn't face that he was dangerously close to having to sleep outside, he would likely have a shock in the near future.
