Sipping at the syrupy dregs of her once hot cocoa - her ears perked up as he close friend appeared through one of the dining pavilion entrances. Poppy noticed she wasn't alone, as the two girls set about getting lunch. The young Demeter camper hopped to her feet in excitement to finally not be alone. In her haste she caught her booted foot on the bench she was evacuating, causing a calamity of flailing Poppy and her thankfully empty chocolate mug. Clattering back to her feet, she gathered the large shards of ceramic. Flashing a happy-go-lucky smile, she whirled toward them with a billow of green skirt. Spirals of brown hair were spilling from her makeshift headscarf and her plaited hair seemingly was held in place by and afterthought.
"Hi guys!" Poppy exclaimed, not heeding the fact that she was interrupting.

"You'll have to leave it for a bit. In the middle of a couple projects. Grab a new one from the Armory in the mean time." He told the Zeus camper. He nodded at her gracious reply, then turned and set the damaged weapon by the belt grinders.

Twisting on the spot to the male voice, he noted Hank was glancing at the work in progress blade. "A simple shortsword with a ladder damascus pattern - fresh from the forge; setting up for the heat treat." Ben knew that he was using bladesmithing jargon which usually meant that his words quickly slipped above most campers.
"The heat treat hardens the blade so when used it doesn't break apart on the first strike. Grinding and adding a handle will finish it. And then available for whatever warrior wants it." Ben elaborated on the process.
He didn't mind company in the forge, especially when he was taking a break, and was always welcoming to campers interested in bladesmithing or weapon crafting. And he also understood what a relief from the bitter cold the Smithy was with the current weather - as typically the Forge was the last place to expect most campers in the summer, temperatures could easily peak at 130 or more within the open concept building.
"How's the puppers doing? She need anything?" He flicked his ashen grey eyes from the tucked away dog to her faithful owner.

thanatos - unclaimed

he wondered what it was like to have that much responsibility thrust upon someone at such a perceivably young age. teilo was older than aiden, that much was certain, though he wasn't sure how much older - his voice was a little deeper than would be expected from his face, which put him in teilo's mind at being midway through his teenage years, and the thought was almost shocking. all of these children in the camp, preparing to lay down their lives because of the celestial beings that they had been born to. it seemed a bit selfish of the gods to continue conceiving with humans while knowing the life that lay ahead of them.
he was pushed, and though playful it was, he reeled away, made a look of stark offence - one that communicated a very strong aversion to being touched by who was, in essence, a stranger, but let it dissipate quickly. "i haven't seen you around. but i haven't seen much of anyone." when he had entered the camp, he had disappeared into the shadows, avoided all interaction. in some cases, he had utilised his invisibility to grab food from the mess hall and eat it somewhere else, where the acoustics didn't drag every muttering word into his ears. he appreciated silence. the chance to drift around in the pools of his own thoughts. he considered this - it may have to be a much more common occurrence.

"i don't think anyone would take kindly to finding out i was mortal," teilo said, and though the idea was conjecture, theory, he was considering the possibility. no, he wasn't a mortal. he knew he wasn't a mortal. even if seeing ghosts was a result of profound mental health issues, as his mother had thought, there wasn't a mortal he knew who could disappear from sight at whim. "no. i know i'm not mortal. but that doesn't make it any easier to figure out. i do wish they'd hurry up." it appeared that aiden was not reacting well to the cold weather, a red hue drifting over full features, and he stretched, stood. "i don't imagine i'll be going home for summer." he didn't have a home in this country. he didn't have a home anywhere, really, and pretending that a little village buried in the brechfa forest that he had run so far to get away from was in any way 'home' seemed foolish, given the circumstances. "someone said something about a flag earlier," he looked around. "i'm almost afraid to ask."

Satchiko Hironami | Poseidon | Tagging: Jolene | Location: Camp

Satchi waved it off. "Oh no, I totally get what you mean." She herself hadn’t been exactly an outcast per se, but that was because she purposely went out of her way to try and get in with various people and groups, not because she was accepted or included right away, even here.

Karter Zael | Hades | Tagging: Emerson | Location: Camp, Dining Hall

Karter expected he should’ve said no. Maybe normally he would’ve. But the chance to train before the game, when he was certainly one of the shorter and physically weaker campers? Always a good chance. "Probably should head out to the training arena then, eh? I’ll never say no to some extra training!"

Emerson "Emmie" Tags: Karter Location: Dining Hall

Emmie smiled brightly and nodded "let'sgo then!"she said as she grabbed his hand gently and lead them to the training area. She was luckily already wearing her leggings and long sleeve, mainly cause she didn't have many winter clothes, she walked over to the weapons and grabbed the bow and arrows. "I'm ready when you are!" she said happily.

Agatha "Aggy" Clemson|She/her|Unknown (Ares)|Location: Armoury---> wandering|tags: Auggie

Aggy turned at the sound of a voice. Oh good, now I don't have to find her. "It's hard to make out what everything is when it's covered in snow," Aggy said offhandedly. She reached a hand into her cargo pants, working on angling out the large stone that rested there. "Besides, I think mine got a little waterlogged after a certain dip in the lake," She added, smiling ruefully as she wrestled the stone the rest of the way of her pocket and offered it to the other girl, holding it far more delicately than was neccesary.
Aggy liked the thing, and she'd need to see about getting one for herself soon.

"So are there like, activities or something scheduled, or do we just chill until capture the flag?" She asked, once again looking to the older girl.

Ophelia Rogers|She/her|Aphrodite|Location: Dining Pavilion|tags: Mira, Poppy

Oh gods, she's mad at me. Ophelia's mind was spinning, her hands gripping her tray tighter. Usually, she wasn't too bothered when people were put off by her, being that her natural state was rather offputting. But her head counselor was different, unlike everyone else, and despite Ophelia's attempts to hide it, Mira's opinion mattered to her.

She startled at a sudden burst of noise, nearly spilling her soup, but managing to recover quickly. She looked over at the source, and relaxed to find was just Poppy. She let out a breath and smiled in greeting, her dark hair flowing around her face at the sudden movement.

"Hey Poppy!" She called. Hopefully no longer a Poppy-sicle, she added in her head, running her deep blue eyes over the girl to determine if she had changed into something warmer. Still in a skirt, but at least she put something on her head, she thought, returning Poppy's gaze and hoping she had something to say that would make Mira forget about the younger girl's outburst.

Henry "Hank" Walker|He/him|Apollo|Location: Forge|tags: Ben, Laurel, Izzy

Hank had no idea what Ben was talking about, but it seemed to make him happy. "Cool!" He said enthusiastically. The only part he'd recognized was the damascus ladder pattern, which was especially prized in the Apollo cabin for the beautiful finish.

"She's holding up alright, I'll just need to check up on her armour for toni- oof," Hank started to explain, but was cut off by the Zeus girl crashing into him. He winced, coughing as the air was knocked out of him, but recovered quickly enough. "You're all good!" He said, but Izzy had other ideas, and had worked her way inbetween them to eye the girl suspiciously. Hank rested a hand on her head to let her know it was alright, and that she should let it up.
She still stood at attention, widening the space between him and the girl.

He stepped back to let the girl through, tugging on Izzy's lead to indicate that she should do the same.

Alex Burns|17|He/him| Aphrodite| Location: Leaving bathrooms---> Cabin 10| Tags: Juliet---> open

Alex shifted his weight. He was starting to regret the white tanktop he'd chosen to wear under his leather jacket that morning. But like, it made his tan pop, so it was worth it. His siblings had heckled him about it on the car ride to camp (everyone else was getting treated to an outing on Long Island Sound), but such is the price of good taste.
The more pressing issue was the pure glee that was running through his veins at the idea of not having to run around like an idiot to play capture the flag.
"Speaking of blizzards, I'd best be getting somethin' warm," He said. His teeth were practically chattering, and there was no way he would be able to last long in the cold. Another cold breeze blew by, causing him to wrap his jacket around himself tighter.

He flashed Juliet a comforting smile, then stepped around her, aiming himself toward Cabin 10.

|Mirabelle Everhart|17|She/Her|Aphrodite|Head Counselor|Location: Dining Pavilion|Tags: Ophelia, Poppy|

Mirabelle's gaze jolted upwards as a Demeter camper barged into the conversation, thankfully dispelling some of the tense atmosphere. Poppy - one of Ophelia's good friends, if she remembered correctly. "Hey there!" she called to the peppy girl, hoping she sounded remotely chipper. Though she was usually able to hide her emotions quite well, the amount of stress bubbling inside of her with the combination of the cold weather was certainly testing her abilities. She shot an apologetic glance at Ophelia, realising her former behaviour could have been interpreted as rude or even morose. Mes Dieux, Mirabelle! she mentally chastised herself. Rassembler ses esprits! The last thing she wanted to do was drag everyone else's feelings down with her. Taking a deep yet nearly imperceptible breath, she shoved her problems out of her mind for the time being, attempting only to focus on the present.

|Juliet Pratten|16|She/Her|Hermes|Location: Walking to the Lake|Tags: Alex --> Open|

"Yeah, you look like you're gonna turn into a popsicle any minute," Juliet quipped. She waved goodbye to Alex as he headed towards Cabin 10. Now would be a good time for that Iris message, she mentally remarked. She figured she'd go try to find a quiet spot near the lake. She was curious to see if it had frozen over yet, anyways. Hopefully it has, and we can get an ice hockey team together or something, she mused. Though Juliet wasn't fond of large bodies of water to begin with, she seemed to have no trouble with them once they were frozen over. Of course, the ice had to be tested first - there was no way she was going to risk plunging into the icy depths.

|Chuck Oakes|He/Him|Satyr|Location: Forest|Tags: Jamie|

"Wanna go check it out?" Chuck suggested hesitantly. He wasn't one for large crowds, but whatever was happening there looked pretty important. Satyrs and nymphs didn't usually gather like this. He figured Aiden was right; they were probably having some sort of meeting given the sudden cold front in June. He squinted at the group, and he could make out some four-legged forms amongst the group as well. Foxes, a few squirrels... even a black bear. "Looks like quite the party over there," Chuck surmised. As he debated on going over to investigate, a small wren fluttered towards him and perched atop his head.

|Vivienne Isole|18|She/Her|Khione|Location: Peak of Mount Marcy|Tags: Khione, Mysterious Stranger|

"A calculated risk," Khione stated in regards to the other god's posed doubts. "As for Vivienne..." her deep brown eyes narrowed. "She was convenient. My so-called 'aid' in her petty grievance against Camp Half-Blood will serve as a good cover-up, as well as distract the other gods' attention away from our true plans." She studied his face for a moment before continuing. "Besides that, she has proven relatively easy to manipulate. Any little morsel of affection thrown her way is enough to keep her compliant." The niphus was now gesturing frantically, and footsteps could be heard from further down the hall. "Back to business," the snow goddess said sharply. "Can we count on you?"

xxxxMARIA LUNA BLACK
──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
xxxxage: seventeen, immortal | gender: female | sexuality: asexual biromantic | role: hunter, daughter of
    xxxxhecate
xxxxlocation: woods | mentions: none | tags: winona

xxxx standing on half-blood hill next to the big oak tree was a figure shrouded in a silver, hooded cloak, one hand grasping onto the strap of their quiver slung around their shoulder. her free hand lifted the hood from her face, revealing her looks. brown eyes wandered over the snow laden land, a slight look of shock and surprise on her features. so it was true, camp half-blood really was covered in snow. it was nonstop and ever piling. this really wasn't good. earlier that day maria had been camping out with her fellow hunters somewhere up in the rockies, taking a break from chasing after a large, mythical stag that eluded the hunters for now. it was then that the young goddess herself reported that camp half-blood was receiving difficulties. she was taking volunteers to go to the camp and offer assistance. maria was all too quick to offer her help to the goddess, excited to return to the camp after many years. really, she knew that there were a few new hecate campers, siblings of hers, that she would love to meet. of course, she would also bring all that she could to help the camp out. artemis called upon one of her deer companions to give maria an expedite ride to the camp, which is where she is now stood. an iris message had been also sent to chiron and mr. d about her soon to be arrival, so the camp wasn't all in the dark. resting her hand on the large oak tree, where in the branches the golden fleece hung freely, maria felt the magic of the land. something was off. the growing and healing magic was being dampened, covered by the strong magic which is forcing snow upon the camp. removing her hand from the tree's trunk, maria descended down half-blood hill, her boots leaving imprints in the snow.

xxxx from where she had stood upon half-blood hill maria could see a few campers in the dining pavilion, while others were off near the cabins or the lake. really, maria should probably announce her arrival to chiron and mr. d, gather whatever news was known about this sudden snow day, and offer any help she could. however, there was no clear sight of either them. plus, maria was itching to meet her sisters who were both somewhere in camp. so perhaps meeting with chiron and mr. d could wait a bit longer. not to mention, when maria searched the energy of the camp she felt the tingling feeling of hecate's power off near the woods. one of her sisters. ignoring her primary duties, which artemis would not be fond of, maria excitedly started racing through the snow, one hand still clinging to her quiver's strap. a smile was on her face as she ran through the snow, following the magical energy of one of her sisters into the woods. after sprinting for several meters maria could feel the strength of the magical presence as she neared her target. slowing down some as the back of a figure came into view maria shouted out, "hey!" a little too loudly and excitedly. her free hand waved, a grin on her face. was this one of her younger sisters?

xxxxGWENDOLYN ARABELLA SAUNDERS
──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
xxxxage: seventeen | gender: female | sexuality: bisexual | role: head counselor of khione cabin
xxxxlocation: outside the big house | mentions: none | tags: open

xxxx staring out across the lonesome khione cabin's table in the dining pavilion, gwen picked halfheartedly at her lunch, deep in thought. thinking about the meeting that occurred this morning with all of the other head counselors, and the prophecy that was spoken. not to mention the whole 'it's snowing inside camp in the middle of summer' thing. nothing about the prophecy had been spoken about to any of the regular campers yet, but with the snow falling almost at a storm rate something was clearly going on and the campers definitely know something is up. if not then they must be used to sudden snow storms in june. another thing that was bothering her was the idea that the campers think that it's either her or her brother aydan, maybe both, causing the cold and snow. while that wasn't the case it still worried her that maybe some campers would gang up against them. blinking out of thought as a snowflake hit her nose the girl looked around, seeing that the dining pavilion was mostly empty at this point. sighing, gwen stood from the table, her plate quickly being whisked away by a nymph. "thank you," she said to the nymph, taking her leave from the dining pavilion. unlike the other campers who were rushing to get warm clothing to wear, gwendolyn was content with wearing her orange camp half-blood t-shirt and jean shorts even with the current weather. the cold doesn't bother her anyway (wink). wandering out of the dining pavilion gwendolyn could see some campers scurrying to shelter in their cabins. would anyone have any warm clothing to wear? this was a summer camp with moderated weather to stay warm year round. the answer is probably a no, nobody would have any warm clothes. the least she could do is help out, right?

xxxx running toward the big house, undeterred by the battering wind and icy snow, gwendolyn sprinted up the steps of the big house. passing right by some kid who stood there looking dumbfounded at it all. oh wait, wasn't that the new oracle? yeah, he had been at the meeting earlier and spewed a prophecy. there wasn't anytime for a formal introduction now. entering the big house gwendolyn ran through the halls, skidding to a stop as she neared a closet space. flinging the door open she started grabbing blankets, trying to balance them on one arm and she piled more up with her other arm. maybe she could also get the nymphs to make everyone hot chocolate? that may have to come with a bribe. after grabbing as many spare blankets as she half-humanly could, gwen started for the front door of the big house. her pile wobbled and wavered in her arms. she struggled to look past the stack of blankets, her eyes peering out from the left side. each step she took was slow and careful. so much for speedily getting these to everyone. stepping out of the big house and once more passing the oracle, gwen stepped out into the snow. "hey! does anyone want to help me out!" she yelled, unsure if anyone could hear her over the flurry of snow and whistling of the wind.

xxxxTERRANCE TJ TRACEY
──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
xxxxage: sixteen | gender: male | sexuality: bisexual, male lean | role: oracle, mortal
xxxxlocation: big house porch | mentions: none | tags: open

xxxx today was not a good day. it very much was not a good day. honestly it all started out well enough with terrance finally arriving at camp half-blood for his first summer as the camps new oracle. that in itself was a whole whirlwind of realizing that different mythological gods are real, and all the creatures he has seen his whole life wasn't just a figment of his imagination. the kid is still in shock over it all and having a hard time both believing it and adjusting to it. however, chiron was kind and had gotten the boy settled into one of the spare rooms in the big house without any fuss. terrance learned that the old oracle used to live in a cave by the woods, and while it had all the accommodations she needed, terrance wasn't exactly one for living in a cave. maybe one day he'll find himself a special place to live while at camp, but for now he would stay in the big house. after unpacking and getting settled in that's when things started to go wrong. snow began to fall from the sky within the protective, and weather managed border around the camp. at first it was dazzling to see. snow in june? it was quite a sight to behold.

xxxx terrance thought it must be the work of one of the gods, or a mischievous cloud nymph (if they were even real that is. he's still skeptical) but it was clear that this wasn't how things were meant to be. terrance will never forget the meeting that was held almost immediately. the head counselors of the cabins along with chiron, mr. d, who is supposedly the god of wine, and a strange man named argus covered from head to toe in eyes, was held around a ping pong table. okay, a man that has eyes all over his body? maybe this whole greek gods and monsters thing wasn't a whole lie. anyhoo, during the meeting terrance realized what it truly meant to be an oracle. the feeling of his own body being taken over by an ancient entity was the most terrifying and uncomfortable thing in his life. he had no control over his his movements or voice. everything tensed up as the spirit of delphi took control, snaking out of his mouth its cloud of noxious green gas. his eyes rolled up into his head as the low, rumbly voice uttered a prophecy. in all honesty, terrance doesn't really remember anything past his eyes rolled back. what he does know is that wasn't what he signed up for.

xxxx now he stands on the porch of the big house, bundled in one of his many hoodies to stay warm, hands under his armpits, eyes staring out across the valley. snow fell heavily from the sky, building up quickly on the ground and atop the cabins. his breath came out in white whips before him. wasn't there anything he could do? he was the oracle after all. would it be possible for him to take back the prophecy like, "oh hey, just kidding, i didn't mean it. uno reverse." then the snow would disappear? that didn't seem to be the case.

Augusta Reynolds|17|she/her|Hades|camp|tags:Aggy
Auggie’s eyes flicked across the snow covered field. It did look a little different smothered in a blanket of white, but having been at camp for the last five winters, she was used to it by now. She shrugged, turning back to Aggy to see the girl carefully handling her whetstone. At least she careful with it, though Auggie figured that was more out of reverence for the thing itself than respect for it being Auggie’s belonging. She cracked a bitter smile at the mention of the lake incident, reaching out to take the whetstone and shoving it much less gracefully into her own pocket. “Sometimes there is,” She said in response to the girl’s question. “But right now I think all the head counsellors and whoever are too busy freaking out about this snow to worry about much else.” The snow made her uneasy, especially since she remembered there being an incident involving snow in the first year she came to camp, but that was so long ago, her memory had become foggy. Still, she didn’t let any of that emotion show on her face as she kept her usual hardened glare. “But if you want we could find something to do...something that doesn’t involve jumping in the lake.” She added with a raised eyebrow. Normally she didn’t offer to hang out with other campers, especially new ones who were overconfident and unperturbed by Auggie’s standoffish attitude, but she didn’t have anything better to do. Besides, she thought, the kid seemed pretty tough and if they ended up on opposite teams for capture the flag, Auggie didn’t think she wanted her as an enemy.

Jamie Wallace|16|he/him|Iris|Forest|tags:Chuck
Jamie glanced at Chuck, slightly surprised by his suggestion and by how unsure he sounded when suggesting it. He looked back at the group, eyes widening slightly at the sight of a bear among them. He remembered camping with his dad once when he was just a little kid, and a bear had gotten into their food. Jamie had been terrified and refused to go camping for several years afterwards. But if this bear was talking with the satyrs and nymphs, he could only assume it was friendly...right? “Uh...sure,” He nodded, and was about to gesture for Chuck to lead the way when a bird landed on the satyrs head. He stepped back in surprise, eyebrows raising. “Uh...dude, you’ve got a friend.” He said, pointing to the wren with a bemused expression.

if only i could keep you in my pocket
to give me some diagnosis of why i'm so hollow
please give me instructions, i promise i'll follow
i tripped on my ankle and fractured my elbow
but doesn't that mean that the tour's gonna sell, though?
i try to explain the good faith that's been wasted
but after an hour, it sounds like complaining
wait, don't go away, can i lie here forever?
you say that i'm better, why don't i feel better?
the universe works in mysterious ways
but i'm starting to think it ain't working for me
doctor, should i be good, should i be good this year?
